Chunky Cork with Laura
Hi Friends! Laura here to day to share a craft hack and some scrappy happenings!
I’ve had my eye on some cork hearts with gold flecks in them, but each time I’ve tried to buy them online they are sold out. I put my thinking cap on and came up with a plan to make my own… you can watch a tutorial here or in short; one pack of the gorgeous chunky cork hearts, some two way glue and some foil or gold leaf. A few dabs of the glue then add the gold leaf and hey presto!
I’m really pleased with how they turned out. I experimented with polka dots and a bigger smudge of glue too…
For my first layout today I used My Mind’s Eye’s On Trend 2 collection that came in my recent scrapbooking kit.
I added in a few of my hearts and some gold sequins.
I’m not keen on my journalling showing so I made a little pocket to hide a journalling card in. I always have some glassine bags on hand. You can easily change the size with few lines of sewing.
I was so pleased with how the hearts looked on the page that I immediately started work on another!
This one is made from the same collection and includes the cork heart with the most metal leaf on. I also added in some twine, Mint Chip sequin mix and Peachy Sherbet sequin mix.
You can find my supplies in the SpiegelMom Scraps shop and if you use the code Laura15 can bag yourself a discount!
Thanks for joining me today,
