Better late than never! I love the concept of incorporating old and new products (and photos) into one project – What a great way to use some things I haven’t thought of in awhile. I wanted to use a photo of me and my friend Jordan from our first year of college and one from after we had graduated. Though not many years passed between the photos, I love showing the stages of our friendship!

My background paper is from the Dear Lizzy Saturday collection. I usually shy away from using patterned paper but I wanted to push myself a little on this project. To soften it, I used a floral stencil from Heidi Swapp with some texture paste. I used some Shimmerz Dazzlers Sea U in the Mornin’ to highlight the textured flowers.

To bring out the teal color even more, I used string and a brad from the Simple Stories Posh collection.

For my older supplies, I used some papers and embellishments from the Crate Paper Style Board collection. I layered a few scraps under and around my pictures. I also incorporated a gold foil doily from the shop for a little shine & to bring out the gold detail on that PinkFresh Studio wood clip from the Indigo Hills collection.

For the finishing touches I used a few different embellishments. The black and white AC thickers plus signs at the top coordinate with the pattern on the background. I also couldn’t resist stitching on some cork chevron confetti .. LOVE. Lastly, I added a few sequins from the Let’s Be Mermaids mix.

I’m happy with how this project turned out! It really pushed me to utilize products from different collections.
