Oh My Gourd!
Hey y’all, Ali here! Okay…did October sneak up on anyone else? Wow! Here it is! Everyone’s favorite time of the year. I have a layout today all about one of my favorite fall things…gourds! This month all of the Sparklers are documenting about leaves and fall and all of our favorites! Hope you will keep coming by to check it out!
We always go to a nearby farm for the fall events. One of my favorites is the archways with hanging gourds (this is a fave and a fear, I am always terrified one may just drop on my head at any moment! HA!). I love fall colors, and I also love how some lines are using non traditional colors, like teals to document fall. That is where I based this layout. I used Echo Park’s collection, Fall is in the Air, because it has some fun blues! So I also really wanted a good excuse to use the Aquarius sequins, which have become a fast favorite! I love the blues and the pops of orange from those tiny little flowers! I also added in some Just Beachin’ It sequins, because those browns and greens were perfection for this photo!
As much as I love this season, it is really busy -with school starting and activities! It can be hectic. For me, scrapping is therapy. Whether I get to sit and glue for hours, or just ten minutes, I need that time. I loved creating this layout, because it was quick and fun! A couple of watercolor splatters and some layering behind my photo. I think the sequins pull it all together, like scattered leaves across the layout! What are some of your favorite ways to document fall?
