Under His Wings Canvas with Laura

Hello Chaps!  Laura here to day sharing a mini canvas with you…

The canvas is around 10 cm square, so it’s quite a diddy little thing.  Perfect for sitting on a desk or bedside table.  It is packed with texture from the stencil work, the dimpled canvas, felt and sequins.

I pushed a thick layer of modelling paste through a stencil and then used water colour bars to add colour.  I hand wrote a Bible verse and cut each word out individually.  As it is stuck over the textured background it leaves lovely shadows adding depth to the piece.

I decorated with pink sequins and a gorgeous blue feather.  In all it took 25 minutes of work to make – it was done in 5 minute sessions with drying time in between.  Mixed media needn’t be big, messy, time consuming or scary!
