Hello my friends!! Jody here today with a quick & easy card share. I created this card for a recent birthday & love how it turned out. I started by embossing a 4.25″ by 5.5″ piece of white Neenah card stock with one of my favorite polka dot embossing folders. Next, I ran it through my Big Shot using one of the Kaiserkraft Stitched Circle dies.  In order to have the stitches NOT show on the card, I ran two sheets of that size cardstock through the Big Shot on the side opposite the raised dots.  I positioned the metal die where I wanted to create the shaker window and used washi tape to secure it in place.  I totally killed two crafting birds with one stone!  Now have another card base ready to go for my next card.

After I had my window cut out on the cardstock, I trimmed down a piece of white craft foam and lined up where the window would go. I placed the metal die where I wanted it and again secured it with washi tape before running the foam through my Big Shot. Then I adhered a piece of acetate directly behind the embossed cardstock to create the front of the window.   I followed up by adhering the die cut foam on the backside of the embossed cardstock which created an area to add my sequins.  I poured about 2 teaspoons of Pinky Pie Pink sequins into the window area and added a few random pink hearts from the Hearts on Fire sequin mix.

After adding my sequins, I put adhesive all around the edge of the circle to create a seal when I added the patterned paper backing to my window.  For the finishing touches, I added a wood veneer word from Michael’s Craft Store and some fabulous Maggie Holmes Gold Glitter Thickers, which I’ve been hoarding big time!!  Easy peasy!!

Thanks so much for checking out the blog today!!  Being the shop owner and always thinking of more ways to accommodate my customers, I’m thinking about adding a few options for cardstock to the shop.  What do you think about SMS offering 8.5 by 11″ Neenah white cardstock and 12×12 American Crafts white and kraft cardstock in single sheets?  This would affect some shipping methods and costs slightly due to the size of the box needed.  I’d love to hear your feedback!

I hope you all have a creative day!

Jody
