Seahorse Canvas with Laura

Hi Chaps, Laura with you today to share a home decor piece and a process video.

I’ve used a couple of the wonderful cut files – exclusive to SpiegelMom Scraps – and a whole bunch of sequins!  First I took a blank box frame canvas and spread a generous layer of Shimmerz Dazzlerz in both Barely Blue and Spun Sugar on with a palette knife.  I got the idea from fellow Sparkler Sara, I was inspired by this layout.

Following Sara’s technique I added sequins to the wet Dazzlerz paste and pushed them in slightly.  When dry I tapped off the excess sequins and popped them back in the packet for another project.  I used some from each of these mixes: Glass Slippers, Moonshine Delight, Silver Stardust, and A Mermaid’s Tale.

I coloured the seahorses and stuck them on top of the sequinned canvas.  I felt they needed something to ground them so I added a few waves from the cut file set too.
