Packaging + Ink Technique

Hi all!! Jody here today with a new technique on the block which uses your fav ink or mists and a piece of plastic packaging material. Sound a little strange & messy?! Well it’s a beautiful combination of both of those things. I’ve actually done this fun technique myself without even thinking about it being a “technique.” I have a drawer dedicated to mixed media type goodies; an old plastic credit card, fabric mesh, little bubble wrap, stencils, foam brushes, wire, empty toilet paper rolls, various sized plastic cylinders from ribbon spools, small plastic cups, etc. I’ve often time pulled items from this drawer to paint, stamp and get messy with. It’s such a fun drawer in my scrap space!!  I’ll be sharing more on the drawer in a later post.   I simply sprayed a piece of plastic from a package of Thickers, crinkled it up and stamped it onto my background paper.  It added a really fun, funky and colorful element to my layout!    After the ink dried, which didn’t take very long, I began to layer a variety of Craft Market papers from Crate Paper along with others from my stash. I love this look which you’ll see me do often. Bring on the layers! After adding all the paper layers, I began adding those beautiful Crate Paper embellishments. I’m absolutely in love with this camera & the burlap tag with the gold accents!! So pretty!

I hope you enjoyed my layout today. Here are the products I used in this layout in case you’re interested:

Thanks so much for stopping by! So what’s your favorite mixed media product?
