Make It Yours Monday~My Heart

It’s Monday, and that means it’s time for another Make It Yours Monday. I hope this makes your Monday a little bit more bearable! Today, I have an amazing layout from a fellow facebooker that caught my eye and I just HAD to try to Make it My own! I found this layout by Nicole Heinrich and thought it was beautiful, and hope my take does her’s justice!!!

To begin my layout, I took a piece of patterned paper from a Michael’s in my stash and gutted it, saving the middle for part of my layout. I trimmed down a piece of American Crafts Textured White Cardstock and layered them together to create the base of my layout. I then added my splatters (I like to do them first, so I dont ruin a almost done layout with bad splatters!) I used the Glorious Day Vibes and Cotton Candy Spritz, both in the Shimmerz shop!

After the mists were dry, I took the other piece of background paper and trimmed it to 6″ wide by 9.5″ long and adhered it slightly off center to one of the beautiful Chantilly Lace 8″ doilies available in the shop. I added my photo, backed with a piece of black vellum and cream and gold dotted paper and stuck the whole layered piece to my cardstock.

For my title, I used an older Heidi Swapp sticker set that you can foil yourself and placed it under my photo. I also foiled 2 hearts that came with the title sticker and placed on on the top right of my photo and one next to my title.  Instead of the arrows on the inspiration layout, I kept with the heart theme and sprinkled some gold Heart sequins on the lower left and upper right sides. I LOVE the sparkle they give off!! I added my journaling under the photo cluster and some gold rose washi to some edges and that was it. SO fast, SO fun and SO pretty and you could take this and adapt it to almost ANY layout! I hope you will take todays layouts and make them your own!
