Make It Yours Monday~ You Are Beautiful….

HELLO and Happy Monday. Thank you all for joining me for another Make it Yours Monday at SpiegelMom Scraps!!! Today, I am totally inspired by the amazing Missy Whidden (Click here for the amazing layout)!!! I saw her layout and just HAD to give it a try, but with my own twist, which is the spirit behind my Make It Yours Mondays!!!!

For my layout, I started by mounting my photo in the center of a piece of pink cardstock and cut it out. I used the remaining cardstock for my boarder paper.  I then trimmed down a piece of American Crafts white cardstock and gessoed the sides and center. THEN, it got FUN!!! I have some masking fluid in a FIneline bottle, and I used that to write the words of my title, “You are Beautiful, Inside and Out”. I LOVE that it’s my handwriting, makes it more personal!!  Masking fluid dries fairly quick ( I had never used it before, so that was good to learn!!), so I was excited to get to the painting part!

Over the dried masking fluid, I painted stripes of color with my Shimmerz products, mostly from the shop (and a few from my LARGE Shimmerz stash!!) I used Cotton Candy Spritz, Cant Elope Inklingz, Mandarin Mai Tai Coloringz, Bamboo Leaf Spritz, Jeni B Bleu Vibez, Power to the Purple Creameez and a bit of gold with Heidi Swapp colorshine

While I let my paint stripes dry, I matted my photo on a 4″ doily, behind the pink mat. I also added a Mini Pink Polka Dot Bag as the final layer to hold my Manila shipping tag for my journalng.

Now that the Shimmerz were dry, I mounted my photo and began to sprinkle my sequins into each color strip. For the Pink, I used the  beautiful, flat pink sequins from the Holiday Traditions mix. The Peachy orange got the cupped sequins from the Peachy Sherbet mix, Yellow Sequins are from the A Day In the Woods Mix, Greens AND Blues are from the Holiday Traditions mix also, I used the pretty purple cupped sequins from A Mermaids Tale and as all rainbows do, I ended with Gold Sweetheart Confetti hearts!!

I mounted the entire layout on the pink cardstock, a few splatter of Gold Colorshinea, and then, the big Reveal! I used my tweezers to remove the masking fluid. IT WORKED!!! All the words were perfect, I couldnt believe it!!! I LOVE this so much and Masking fluid will be used A LOT more in my future!!!
