Make It Yours Monday~ This is The One!

Happy Holidays Everyone! This week is scraplift week of our Guest Designer for the month, and, this month, it’s the AMAZING Missy Whidden!!! Her layouts are always fabulous and the one I chose to take on is no exception!

I loved all the wonderful textures and layers! To begin my version, I took a piece of white cardstock and 2 different stencils. Using the Shimmerz Dazzlers in Red-iculous, I created the base of my page. After the red Dazzlerz were dry, I brought in a Tim Holtz tree stencil and a green Dazzlerz to add some tress over top of the red textured background.

While the texture pastes were drying, I began working with my photo. I backed the picture first with a bold red pattern paper and then created a layered back ground of various pattern papers from 6×6 paper pads I had in my Christmas stash. When I had all the layers they way I liked them, I adhered them together and backed the whole piece with some vellum for a soft look. Behind the photo mat piece, I created a fishtail banner from kraft cardstock and tucked it behind the paper cluster. By now, the paste was dry and I adhered the paper/photo cluster to the page with some foam tape.

My title was added to the bottom right corner of my photo using a mix of tiny tile letters and gorgeous gold glitter Thicker. A star garland sticker under the photo tied that section together nicely!

I loved the cluster Missy had in the top right, so I took a strip of pattern paper from my photos layers, cut a scallop boarder, and added it to the right corner of my page as well, over top of a mini red doily I had adhered first. A gold glitter bow and some sequins from the new Hustle Bustle mix finished that cluster. I loved the gold glitter of the bow and Thickers, and felt I needed it in one more place, so I replicated the top cluster on the bottom left corner of the page as well.  After that, I added splatters using Shimmerz Bed of Roses and Bamboo Leaf Spritz and more of the gorgeous Hustle Bustle sequins around the page. After trimming off 1/4″ from the sides of my page, I matted the entire layout on a piece of green cardstock and added a doodle boarder to finish my page.

This festive page makes me so happy and really has me eager for Christmas!!
