My layout today for you guys includes  great, sparkly sequin mixes you can get your hands on NOW! I used Wedding Bells and Moonshine Delight as well as some Shimmez in Spun Sugar Dazzlerz, Spritz in Bed of Roses and Bamboo Leaf, and a Vibez in Snow Storm. I used some Heidi Swapp ColorShine in Tinsel to bring some silver spatters also, to go with my Thickers.

I was SO inspired by the holly berry bokeh paper from Lawn Fawn! I love the photo effect of bokeh (when the lights are out of focus and just soft spots of light while the main subject is in focus, or just the soft glowing lights) and wanted to try to re-create it abstractly on my layout. I had this adorable photo of my girls playing with our Christmas lights last year when we were testing them and thought it was the perfect photo for this type of effect on an page. I started by adding some white shimmer trim tape from American Crafts to the bottom of a piece of white cardstock. I gutted and layered the frame of bokeh paper on top of the shimmer trimmed cardstock and added a piece of white American Crafts cardstock as my top layer to work on. I took all my shimmerz and got some splatters in each of the colors down as a base. I then used my spun sugar Dazzlerz and a stencil with various size dots to create some texture and fun dots!15741203_10211400719274653_1422983289330324267_n

I added my GORGEOUS 8″ Chantilly lace doily from the shop as my main photo layer. I spritzed it with some snow storm vibez to make it sparkle! I matted my photo on a piece of the bokeh paper and left a tiny boarder. I popped my photo up with some foam tape and adhered the doily and photo to my page. I also added 3 Tim Holtz Occasions chit chat word stickers to the bottom left of my photo (deck the halls, merry & bright, magic and merriment) making sure to add a tiny piece of foam tape to the ends that hang off the edge to make them the same height. My title went just to the right of my photo, towards the bottom.15894257_10211400718914644_4561716358638583473_n

Next, I had SO much fun using my sequins to try and achieve my bokeh effect!!! I sprinkled some of the solid white from Wedding bells amongsts the dazzlerz dots, keeping them close together, and then bring in some of the sheer iridescent ones from the same mix as well. I even used some of the sheer and silver TINY stars in the mix and dotted them around, to further the effect by varing  the sizes. The largest dots came in by using the Moonshine Delight sequins (they are 10mm, so fun!) I filled in any empty spaces with them, but keeping an odd number of 3 in each group ( I cant ever add, say, 4 or 2 of something, It bothers me!)15873038_10211400718634637_9192847943846278704_n

After everything was dry, I covered my photo and added a bit more splatter in each of my colors to help really emphasize the bokeh look. I tore the edges of my white paper for a soft look and was done!15781599_10211400719594661_6302475202463830026_n
