Make It Yours Monday~ So…

Hello everyone, I’m “SEW” happy to be here with another Make it Yours Monday! Yup, it’s Sewing week here at Spiegelmom Scraps!!! Today, I am sharing a layout that includes some stitching as well as some no so hidden journaling!

This layout started with a large die-cut heart from a piece of American Crafts white cardstock.  I stitched (not so well!!!) a round the edges of the heart with a few different stitches on my sewing machine using a gray thread to keep the layout soft. Lots of layers with scraps from my stash were next, including a doily and a lg. Manila tag  from the shop. I adhered the photo to each side of the stitched, cut out heart, making sure to avoid any adhesive in the middle.

To add my title, just to the right of the photo cluster, I used some tiny tile stickers as well as some silver glitter thickers to spell out So Tiny, So Strong, So Loved. Then, out came the sparkles!! I used the beautiful Sweet Pea sequin mix to bring a bit of shimmer and shine around the page and add some pops of color. I also included some of the adorable heart felties in white and dove grey in the little clusters and in the corner of my photo.

For my journaling, I created a pocket on the back of the white cardstock that would allow my journaling to be seen through the heart cut out. I wrote everything out on a light piece of pattern paper that coordinated with the rest of the layout and then, I backed the entire page with another piece of that patterned paper. I stitched around the edges of the layout, being sure to avoid the opening for my journaling to slide out!

I hope you enjoyed my SEW fun project today and will check out the shop for some of the great products I used to create to create a stitched layout of your own! When you do, be sure to…
