Hello SMS fans! It’s Sarah on the blog again today with Sparkler DT Sara’s Squares Sketch! The Sparklers are teaming up with Let’s Get Sketchy for some fun inspiration this month! Here is Sara’s sketch:
This week you will see lots of fun layouts using this sketch. Here is my take:
I used the very last of my Door County Traveler’s Notebook supplies on this project! The items I used include; Maggie Holmes Gather, Simple Stories Reset Girl Collection and Maggie Holmes Open Book.
I started by cutting a 12×12 piece of American Crafts Textured White Cardstock down to 8.5×11. I then cut up my last few scraps of Gather and Reset Girl papers down to different sized small squares. I even used a scrap of the beautiful Open Book gold on vellum dictionary specialty paper. I used my sewing machine and gold thread to sew a few of the pieces on.
I matted my photo on to a 6×6 piece of Large Glassine Bag and added a strip of coral floral paper from Gather. I typed my journalling on my antique typewriter. I added a rectangle of paper to add my title to. I also tucked half of a Lace Paper Doily behind the journalling.
I embellished with a few die cut leaves from cork, glitter card stock and watercolor paper. I also added a couple of the beautiful Always Aqua Heat Felties. They match the Gather Collection so nicely! I then added a few enamel dots and gems. Then I finished it off with gluing down a several Glass Slipper Sequins and a good dose of Heidi Shine in Gold.
I hope you enjoyed my take on Sara’s Squares Sketch. Look for more layouts using this sketch this week!
