Good day, SMS fans! It’s Sarah on the blog today with something totally different from me; a flip file happy mail! I’m so excited to show this to you all, here it is:
I started with just two pieces of Doodlebug Designs patterned paper and added a few bits from my stash and, of course, a bunch of goodies from the SMS shop!
I started with a 6×12 piece of the striped paper to make the file folder itself and used two 6×3 pieces of a coordinating patterned paper to make the accordion pieces on the sides. You can find many process videos on YouTube on making these flip files. Then I started embellishing like crazy!
I filled it with a few pieces of patterned acetate, a few pieces of Studio Calico acetate ephemera and extra Pocket Life cards. I added some fun Kaisercraft Summer Word Dies in coordinating colors. I also added a couple of the beautiful Cloudy Days felt clouds and some fun paper clips in gold.
I made three fun baggies filled with Hot Right Now Mix, Lucky Charm Mix and Passion Flower Mix. I hand punched a glitter heart in a coordinating color and added Wood Mini Clothespins to keep the hearts attached.
I also made three fun tags using three Medium White Shipping Tags and I gave them each a good splat of Tim Holtz ink and a splatter of Heidi Shine in coordinating colors. I stamped a sentiment on each and added some old Thickers from my stash as a greeting to the recipient.
For the outside, I added a White Paper Lace Doily and the Happy Mail Thickers. I gave the front a good splatter of Heidi Shine and embellished with enamel dots and gems. I finished it off with a length of black tulle from my stash to keep it closed.
I hope you have enjoyed this fun happy mail from me today! Check the blog for more from me next week and as always, look for a new Shake It Sunday video on the SMS YouTube channel on the last Sunday of every month!
