Farewell to Ka Slagowski, September’s Tuesday’s Talent

Today we are bidding farewell to Ka Slagoski, our Tuesday’s Talent this month. I have seriously enjoyed Ka’s posts and every little detail on her cards!  Thank you so much Ka.  I’m forever your fan!  I hope everyone enjoys, comments and shares Ka’s final guest designer post today.

Hello everyone! It’s Ka here with my final post as SpiegelMom Scraps September Guest Designer! I’ve had so much fun designing with Jody’s awesome products! I hope you’ve enjoyed my creations and thank you so much for all the sweet comments and support! And a special thank you to Jody for inviting me to be to be part of SpiegelMom Scraps!

For today’s post, I made a birthday card with a matching birthday tag. I absolutely adore owls and think they are just some of the cutest critters. I decided to use the adorable owls images from the “Hoo Loves You” set from Whimsy Stamps to create today’s projects. @copicmarkers @WhimsyStamps @jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @mayartsribbon @studiocalico @americancrafts, #spiegelmomscraps #studiocalico #americancrafts #sequins #DIY #CardMaking #whimsyStamps #ink #stampI started the card by die-cutting a white stitched rectangle panel and masking the stitched edges with masking tape. I then, placed a Heidi Swapp Stencil over it and applied some mint ink all over the entire panel. I added some gray ink by lightly sponging around the edges.  To create the gray frame, I used the chisel end of a T4 Copic Marker to color in the masked stitches edges. This panel was adhered to a lavender card base. @copicmarkers @WhimsyStamps @jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @mayartsribbon @studiocalico @americancrafts, #spiegelmomscraps #studiocalico #americancrafts #sequins #DIY #CardMaking #whimsyStamps #ink #stampNext, I stamped the owls in gray ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I popped the owls up using foam dimensional adhesives and added an aqua chevron twill ribbon to ground them. I pulled out a Studio Calico Speech Bubble Wood Veneer and stamped “have a” and “birthday” to the speech bubble in black ink and then popped the speech bubble with foam dimensional adhesive. As a finishing touch, I scattered some sequins from the Sunny Day Sequins and Blue Lagoon Sequins Mix from SpeigelMom Etsy Shop. @copicmarkers @WhimsyStamps @jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @mayartsribbon @studiocalico @americancrafts, #spiegelmomscraps #studiocalico #americancrafts #sequins #DIY #CardMaking #whimsyStamps #ink #stampI thought it be fun to create a matching tag for the birthday card above. I did some stencil work on one of the SpiegelMom Scraps Medium Shipping Tag and matted it with a gray cardstock. I customized the “woo-hoo!” sentiment using Avery Elle Elle’s Alphas and stamped the sentiment from Newton’s Nook Designs Newton’s Birthday Bash set. @copicmarkers @WhimsyStamps @jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @mayartsribbon @studiocalico @americancrafts, #spiegelmomscraps #studiocalico #americancrafts #sequins #DIY #CardMaking #whimsyStamps #ink #stampThe owl and plum chevron twill ribbon were popped with foam dimensional adhesives. I finished the tag by adding the same mix of sequins as the card and tying yellow baker’s twine on top from SpiegelMom Scraps Etsy Shop.

@copicmarkers @WhimsyStamps @jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @mayartsribbon @studiocalico @americancrafts, #spiegelmomscraps #studiocalico #americancrafts #sequins #DIY #CardMaking #whimsyStamps #ink #stampI just love how this card and tag turned out! I hope you like them too and were inspired by today’s post! Thanks again for stopping by and don’t forget to stop by my blog.  for the full list of supplies used to create today’s projects!
