Hello everyone and Happy 2017! Jody here today to share a layout and some upcoming SpiegelMom Scraps events.  There were so many awesome things about 2016, but today I’m looking forward to what an amazing year 2017 is going to be!  First off, we are teaming up with Cuts2Luv on the 15th of this month and cannot wait!  We are having a huge blog hop with prizes, free cut files and tons of inspiration.

We would love to have you join us over in the 15 Minutes 2 Scrap Facebook group.  You can find us by clicking here or simply searching for the group and asking to join.  One of our lovely admins will happily add you!  The Sparklers Design Team hosts monthly challenges and the winners get a $10 shop credit to spend on whatever they like!!  Plus, you can always share what you’re working on and just hang out with us!

Alright friends, now I’d love to share a recent layout I created using small amounts of time spread over about a week.  That’s how I create most of the time, between working full time, running SMS and managing my busy family!  It works great for me to work on a layout for 10-15 minutes, then come back to in later.  For this layout I used the free cut file from Creative Scrappers in December.  I stretched the cut file across my layout to create these cool looking windows.

After I had the CS cut file cut out on my American Crafts cardstock, I used a glassine bag to create a stained glass effect.  First, I cut open the glassine bag and placed some drops of glue on the inside where I wanted my snowflakes to be positioned.  Now, I know my photos are not winter at all but the snowflakes are very subtle  inside the glassine bag so I didn’t mind.  The snowflakes are from the Flakey cut file, free on the Cut Files page here.

Next, I dumped a bunch of the Adore sequin mix in the glassine bag and sealed up the edges with glue.  I used double sided tape to adhere the glassine bag window to the backside of my white cardstock and layered up some Bella Blvd papers from my stash.  I also cut a new Silver Foil Doily and added it around my photos along with these beautiful puffy leaf swags and more Adore sequins.  Here are some close ups!

I hope you enjoyed my layout today! I always love this technique with glassine bags and sequins AND a chance to get on the blog with my Sparklers!  They know I’ve been busting my butt behind the scenes to get ready for my biggest product release to date!  Get ready for lots of new sequin mixes and even more felt and cork die cuts!!

Over the next few days, I’ll be adding more items to the Clearance section of the Scrap Shop, including WRMK Page protectors and adhesives!  Watch for those deals and grab some of the wood veneers that are left too!

Thanks so much for spending your time with me today!  Hope to see you join us in the 15 Minutes 2 Scrap Facebook group today!

~ Jody
