A Beautiful Mess with Sarah

Hello SMS fans!  It’s Sarah on the blog today and I have something new and exciting to share with you all!  With the beginning of the new year I started a new way of documenting and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have.  It’s my new “No rules, just fun” approach to documenting.  No more keeping track of week numbers and dates.  No more stressing over taking a bunch of pictures every week!  I am simply documenting the activities I want to.  Telling the stories that are important to me and my family.  And using the products that I am most excited about!  Here is my project for today using my new 9×12 album from A Beautiful Mess:

I used the January 2017 Studio Calico Documentor Kit, and of course a bunch of goodies from the SMS shop!

I cut an acetate sheet from Illustrated Faith down to 6×8 and punched holes in it so it would fit in my album.  I added the SC exclusive Jasmine Jones rubber “January” and I used some old Dear Lizzy Thickers from my stash to spell out “stories”.  I also added a gorgeous new Corky Flakes.  I used my sewing machine to adhere them.

My husband and I went on a romantic mini break to Lake City and I printed out 14 pictures from that weekend at 3×3.  I cut a few of the Studio Calico cards from the Documentor Kit down to 3×3 also.  I added my hand written journalling on a piece of exclusive One Little Bird ephemera.

I added some of the amazing new Strawberry Bubblegum sequin mix to one of the 3×3 pockets and sewed it shut with my sewing machine.

I used a few tiny word stickers and the XO heart from the December Citrus Twist kit.  I stamped the date with my new Pebbles roller date stamper.  I had to retire my Becky Higgins one as it only went thru 2016!  I also added a few bits of wood veneer from Citrus Twist.

I added another Corky Flake to a 3×3 pocket!  It is large enough and sturdy enough to just slip into the pocket.  No need to sew it shut!
