Warm Hugs with Ali

Hello scrappy friends! This month the Sparklers are designing layouts with an inspiration from other art! If you haven’t already seen the new releases of sequins, designed by Lisa, you have to check them out! They were all inspired by art, so we are following in Lisa’s scrappy footprints! It’s a super fun theme, and I hope it inspires you create something based on your favorite piece of art.

I was inspired by the infamous “Starry Night.” So you would think I would use the amazing sequins, Lisa’s Starry Night, right? Nope. Instead I used the fabulous Aquarius mix. I have all the heart eyes for a blue and orange combination. Ever since I can remember it has been my most favorite color combination, so when I saw these sequins I squealed a little bit!

I used photos of my daughter last Halloween, when she dressed up as Anna from Frozen. She is absolutely obsessed with Frozen, and has been for about two years now…she’s only 3! So this layout is a little less starry night, and a little more snowy day!

I used some white acrylic paint to start off the blustery clusters. Then I stitched in white and a bit of gold thread as well to add some dimension and texture. I finished it off with those gorgeous sequins, and I LOVE how it turned out.

What artwork most inspires you? I would love to see your art inspired layouts!

And don’t forget to check out the new releases, all of these sequin mixes are amazing!
