Hello SpiegelMom Scraps fans!! This is Megan and I am back with another Scraplift post! I am so excited about this one!! I was on facebook last week and I found an amazing layout in one of the scrappy facebook groups I’m a member of:
This layout was made by Amanda-Jayne Baldwin and I just absolutely LOVE the pretty heart that’s water colored in the background.
This is the layout I made and I love it too!!
I am so horrible at making up titles, but my fellow design team member, Khristina is amazing at them so I asked her for some help and this is what she came up with. I love it!
I had so much fun using all these hearts on my layout! I love the I Cork U hearts in the store. I had the wood veneer hearts in my stash, as well as the resin pink one. The heart flair I just purchase from one of our fun collab ladies back in February, KJKareen. I absolutely love her etsy shop!
I totally love this embellishment cluster area on the layout with this cute flair, the hearts and the fun sequins!! I used a couple different sequin mixes on this layout A Mermaid’s Tale and the new Pandora’s Ombre.
I absolutely love sharing my creations online – what a blessing to have such a supportive community of crafters who share in our creative accomplishments! Thank you to everyone who supports myself, my fellow DT members, and SpiegelMom Scraps!
Recently, I’ve run across a little problem. I honestly can’t keep up with the amount of gorgeous product releases from the shop. I truly want to incorporate everything and I just can’t. But I’ll keep trying – and Saturday we’ll have even more products available to us. So stay tuned for that! This layout came together inspired by the coffee shop where this picture was taken, in downtown Greenville, SC. I got to spend the day with some friends who I hadn’t spent much time lately – so good! Anyway, I was so excited with how the layout came together that I completely forgot to add a title. And didn’t notice until I was saving edited images from Lightroom onto my computer – I realized there was no name to name a folder. Oops!
To begin, I spritzed some Shimmerz Vibez onto a plain olive background. I stamped a few triangles also and once that dried, I began layering my scraps. I included a frame, vellum, and Pink Paislee C’est La Vie ephemera from my stash. I glued and stitched and added my picture matted on white cardstock. Once I had my layering the way I wanted, I tucked a silver foil doily underneath my picture to finish it off.I stitched a “3” over top of it and added some wood veneer pieces for some additional texture. One of my favorite things to do with sequins is to individually stitch them onto my projects. I love the effect this has when I have the patience to do this! The exclusive sequin mixEvergreen Bough coordinates perfectly with my page! I finished off my project with a few stitched scraps at the top. Sometimes I’m happiest with my projects when I don’t use perfectly matched pieces from collections. This was one of those.
Thanks again for reading! Don’t forget about all the exclusive releases this coming Saturday.
I hope your holiday spirit has been extended through this weekend for NYE! I’m almost entirely done with my December Daily album.. just in time for my last-day-of-December goal.Sometimes I get so excited when the perfect photo opportunity arises, I forget to shoot in portrait and therefore have to get creative when I want to share landscape oriented pictures. I really love to create layouts in non-traditional sizes, and I’m excited to incorporate those together with traditional pocket pages in my Project Life album. Meanwhile, here’s an adorable picture of my incredibly difficult to photograph dog on a mixed media layout. I splattered my background with black acrylic paint and Shimmerz Dazzlers in I Lilac You. Once that dried, I layered some Pink Paislee Yuletide ephemera underneath my photo and added some sequins from the shop for some shine. I wanted to keep my pages consistent so I stitched the “18” from the themed cards for my album across the top. I inked a sentiment across the bottom, added some silver sequin stars, and then I was finished! So quick and easy. I love the beginning of a new year! I’m excited for where it takes me.
What are you most looking forward to in the coming year?
Hello friends! Katty here. I am extremely behind on my December Daily this year. I’m so glad I was finally able to get started. Today I am sharing Days 1-3. I have made a double 6×6 page spread. Since days 2 and 3 were very uneventful I was able to fit all three days in this double page spread.
I began with two matching pieces of patterned paper which I cut down to 6×6. They are red with white polka dots. For my left side layout I wanted to welcome back our Elf on the Shelf Buddy. I added some teal patterned paper to the bottom half. I also used a fiskars scalloped border punch with American Crafts white textured cardstock and some teal glitter tape to separate the two patterns. I added a lovely White Lace Paper Doily behind my photo of my Elf Buddy which I made round with a circle punch.
I added half circle stickers to the top and bottom of the page and I embellished with Chunky Cork Hearts and white flat back sequins from a retired mix which can also be found in the Happy Dance Mix.
I used white Freckled Fawn puffy alpha stickers to write out my tittle. My numbers for each day are also from Freckled Fawn and I embossed them with white embossing powder.
For the page on the right I used all of the same products. I also added a tag with some Red Bakers twine.
I printed some photos in black and white and some in color. I also added some blear phrase stickers from Recollections on one of the photos and over the patterned paper.
I’m really happy with how it turned out. Last years album was way too thick so I’m trying to find ways to slim it down this year and this seemed like a good option since there wasn’t much going on these three days.
There is a process video on my YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/0pZTo1qXBzk
Time relaxing with family is such a gift, and I’m cherishing it! This post is picture heavy because I’m SO excited to share this fall mini album. Incorporated in my album is a full page using this week’s Let’s Get Sketchy sketch.
Target always has has smaller binders that fit 6×8 page protectors really well – and depending on the brand you purchase, you may only need to punch a few more holes. I got those gold glitter alphas and wood veneer leaves at Target too.. swoon. It looks perfect against that wood grain specialty paper I’ve been hoarding forever.
I’ve included lots of Crate Paper products in this mini – from old and new lines. Behind the “Give Thanks” title is a little Shimmerz Dazzlers in Coral Me Crazy. I love the added texture.
One of my favorite details in this mini is that shaker pocket filled with exclusive sequins, Falling Leaves. If you follow my layouts, you’ll notice that leaf looks familiar – I used lots of them here. They’re a beautiful mix of these Shimmerz products (1, 2, 3)I made a filler card with a stencil and Mari-Gold Digger texture paste and I love how it turned out. Aren’t those pictures I took of one of my besties fun!?It was so fun to work with a sketch created for a larger scale on a 6×8 layout! The title is Dear Lizzy and the scraps of paper are mostly from the Gather collection. The sequins I used on this page are an exclusive mix, Mocha Mint Dream. And I finished off with a cloud feltie.
I loved documenting these fall months in a mini, almost like a December Daily. Thanks for stopping in – I hope it’s inspired you to create!
Today I get to share my interpretation of this week’s sketch! You may have heard, we at SpiegelMom Scraps have teamed up with our friends over at Let’s Get Sketchy for the month of November. You can visit their site for the sketch or check it out here in the 15 minutes 2 Scrap Facebook group. The fun sketch Sara designed included butterflies and no matter how hard I try, I can’t figure out how to incorporate butterflies into my projects. Ugh! Strangely, I think it’s because I don’t have kids yet. So in place of those I’ve included some heart punches. My whole post was inspired by the gorgeous new sequin mix in the shop: 2 Cool 4 U. I absolutely love this mix! And while many of the mixes in the shop coordinate well with popular lines – I’m on a crafting budget, so I’ve chosen to use some papers from my stash. I stitched my punched hearts onto some paper from the Dear Lizzy Saturday collection, backed against white cardstock. I then splattered some Shimmerz Vibez in Egg Noggin’ for a little shine. I layered this picture of my sweet German Shepherd onto some vellum and gold-foil polka dotted paper.
That triangle shaped shaker pocket full of sequins found its place stitched on the corner of my patterned paper. To make this: I first trimmed an extra page protector scrap into my desired triangle shape. I then used my Fuse Tool to seal the sequins in.
I used a few pieces of wood veneer on my page including a mini clothespin, We R Memory Keepers “Honey I’m Home” title piece, and a heart from my stash. To finish off my page I included a cloud feltie from the shop, and a brad from the Simple Stories “Posh” collection. I added my journaling and then I was done! Stay tuned this month for a new sketch every week!
With my project today I’m using neutrals to highlight bright pops of pink and magenta. You know I’m always loving white backgrounds. However, recently I’ve been inspired by designer Terhi Koshen to go “no white” so be on the look out for that 😉
For my paint-splattered / smudged background I used Shimmerz Vibez in Blushing Bride and Dazzlers in Spun Sugar (for the stenciled circles). I also added some gold Project Life rub-ons for a little shimmer.
The ephemera layered behind my photo comes from Pink Paislee’s C’est La Vie collection
I stitched on a cork heart from the shop and a wood veneer heart to help bring out the natural colors in the ephemera (& offset the bright pinks!) I also added a tiny wooden clothespin for this same effect.
