Hey y’all! I am LOVING the throw back theme this month, are you guys inspired by the 80’s and 90’s? I always think of music and TV shows when I think of the 90’s. I am 30, so I was fairly young in the 90’s but the music is still my go to Spotify play list! I also recently binged on Fuller House (anyone else?). So the 90’s are fresh on my mind!
The start of summer break has reminded me that I have barely scrapped any school photos from this year. My summer goal is to have my son’s Kindergarten photos scrapped before he goes to first grade! Looking at the pictures we took on his first day I found a gem, my daughter photobombing his photo shoot, and his look of disdain! It was too perfect not to scrap, and I knew I had the perfect title! I think this layout is a happy mix of two of my faves, Full House and Saved by the Bell, what do you think?
I stamped the background with a sprinkles stamp from Pinkfresh Studio. Then I used the Fuse to create little shape shakers to sprinkle about. Instead of using my usual clear page protectors, I used colored dividers (because we all know the 90s were about big bursts of color and fun patterns!).
I love the way the Hey Kiddo! sequins look behind different colors, but that deep blue needed to be spread across the page on it’s own a bit!
I hope you like my take on this super fun theme, can’t wait to see your throw back layouts!
Today I’m talking about a fun layout inspired by thankfulness and grace. Fall encourages me to breath in the crisp air and slow down a little. I took the photo in this layout while on a church retreat at a monastery. Talk about experiencing slowed-down stillness.
I started with white cardstock and splattered some Shimmerz Coloringz in Moody Mauve across the middle section of my page. I then added some scraps of wood grained papers horizontally with the paint.
I stamped some plus signs in silver before I layered some Crate Paper “Gather” ephemera underneath my picture, along with some Pink Paislee “C’est La Vie” ephemera. I was a little hesitant to mix that teal with the mauve but I love how it turned out. I also really love the gold accents from those collections.
After I had my picture where I wanted, I began embellishing – my favorite part! I used some cork confetti and sequins from the shop, along with some wood veneer stars stamped silver + some gold enamel dots.
I finished off my layout with some stitching, the perfect finishing touch! I hope this layout has inspired you to seek grace and gratitude during this beautiful time of the year. Be on the look out for some new releases in the shop. I can’t speak for every DT member but I will certainly be including some gorgeous new products in my next project.
P.S. I did a brave (and scary!) thing and ventured into the world of filming process videos. You can check this quick video out here.
To create this foiled and embossed textured paper it is super easy to do and there is no need for any foiling machine.
First, you need to apply a thin layer of dimensional paste to cardstock, make sure it is covered completely. Let it dry to about 5 minutes or a little longer, it should be tacky. Apply the foil and run it through an embossing machine with the your embossing folder of choice. Remove the foil sheet. If it didn’t cover everything you wanted just grab a new piece of foil and press it onto the spots.
The best way to adhere the string and sequins is to use a fine tip application glue bottle with your favorite liquid adhesive.
Don’t forget to make sure the outside of the envelope matches the card. Create a custom envelop seal with leftover scraps and a circle punch.
Hi girls, Lea here… Today is my day, in the true sense of the word. Today is my birthday and I wanted to celebrate what has always accompanied my life: my love for painting and what I always carry with me: a travel set of watercolors and a few brush.
GoodThursday .. Lea’s here and todayis my day and my projectis alayoutdedicatedto one of mypassions: I painton cotton fabric and then I sewedobjects of dailyuse; bags, cases, handbagsand sometimesjewels, like thependantat the centerof the page.
On the backgroundI useda stenciland the beautifulandsparklingGoldMineTexturezand three differentstamps. I have constructedthe variouslevelsas the basisfor the picturefrom a whitedoily, variouspatterned paperstrips, washitape, twine, a miniglassinebagwhereI printedthe dateseveral times.I finally enteredthe picture, placing itontherecycled cardboardto createthickness andgive morethree-dimensionality.
Hi all, Lea’s here. For this new appointment I wanted to dedicate a mixed media project, a mini album completely handmade.
I made the cover with the heavy recycled cardboard covered with cotton fabric. Before proceeding with the decoration I treated the background with the clear gel to isolate the tissue from the next steps and make it less absorbent.
The super fun part was to work the Shimmerz Paint with a spatula, once dry I used the Shimmerz Paste through the stencil to give texture to the background.
I then added various embellishments: lace, twines, wood veneer, beads and micro beads, small sequins. Finally many splashes of color.
The inside pages, bound with bind it all, have very few embellishments; for the background, as for the cover, I used Shimmerz Paint with a spatula and some stamped.
Thanks for getting here in this long post, I hope I have inspired at least a little, and I assure you that getting your hands dirty with colors is very liberating.
Hello there! Lea here. I am very happy to be here with this first official post to start this new adventure.
I made this LO by focusing at the center of the page, initially darkening the base color of the paper with Distress Ink; then again using a stencil and Distress Ink with blending tool.
To emphasize the picture I used Gold Shimmerz Paints with a spatula by drawing a circle through the stencil: I love these textures pastas, perfect to be used in various ways and that give excellent results.
I also added a number of stamped to give more movement to the background.
I created a series of levels with different patterned paper, and between the various layers I added a piece of tulle that I colored with Shimmerz, some twine, stickers, wood veneer.
Finally, the part that always amuses me: so many splashes of color.
thank you for coming to the end of this post and you will want to play with the colors, if you had not done before. I hope to read your comments and … enjoy !!!
