Happy Father’s Day, my crafty friends! Typically I would be sharing a Fuse It Fun Day project with you, but this week I skipped the Fuse and went straight for the glue!
I made a layout all about my Father in law for our theme this month- 80’s and 90’s! This is a throw back to the Hee Haw show, anyone a fan? I really wanted my kids to know the stories their grandpa has to share-and he has SO many fun stories. For years he played with Roy Clark and was a member of the Hee Haw band. My husband has fond memories of watching his dad on TV, how cool is that?
I really wanted that silly donkey from the Hee Haw logo on this layout, which is actually where I spent the majority of my time. After that it was a few musical note die cuts and some fun layers behind the photos. This layout came together pretty quickly, but my favorite part are the new Black Tie Event sequins and cork Chevy Chevrons as accents. I dispersed the sequins throughout the music, as if they were notes themselves. If sequins could sing, I bet they would sound beautiful!! The Chevy Chevrons worked perfectly as corner accents and gave the layout more of the rustic feel I was going for!
I will get that Fuse back out next week, but I hope you enjoyed this Father’s Day layout and those fantastic new sequins! Pop by the store to grab some of your own!
Happy Sunday scrappers! So glad you joined me for Fuse It Fun Day! I have been dying to make a Coptic bound book and the end of the school year presented me with the perfect excuse to get creating! I wanted to make my son’s teacher a gift, and a blank journal seemed rather appropriate!
The first thing I did was watch a bunch of youtube videos, if you search “Coptic bound book” there are tons of tutorials, careful, this is a time suck, I got lost on youtube for a few hours!
Once I felt comfortable with the tutorials, I started my notebook. I picked out some paper from my stash. I still had so much of the Pink Paislee Switchboard collection, someone gifted me the paper pack a while back. So I wanted to use that up and it was perfect for this project. I made my signatures with printer paper and patterned paper. Then I wrapped my chipboard covers with more of the patterned papers.
I knew I wanted to add a special touch to this notebook, making it personalized from our family. So I created a shaker dashboard with my son’s school photo. I used the Wedding Bells sequin mix, and it added such a crisp clean pop to this shaker page! I love the white sequins and the silver stars, but the iridescent sequins take it over the top!
When I added the cover, I included the shaker page! It worked beautifully! I also added a few buttons to the spine, not over the top, just a few. I think next time I will add more charms and such, I really like how that looks! I love how this little notebook came out, and I can’t wait to make more of these books!
As always, be sure to save some money in the shop with this code!
Apparently this month has me all lovey without even realizing it. You may have noticed my love-inspired post a few weeks ago – well I have another this week. We had so many wonderful pictures of our wedding I’ll have material to scrap for years. This layout features some beautiful products and one of my favorite pictures from our wedding.
I started off with a gorgeous watercolor printed paper by Paige Evans for Pink Paislee and splattered Shimmerz Acri Tonez In the Navy to add a little pop.
I used a cut file from Paper Issues on navy paper to match the Acri Tonez – placing it behind where my picture would go. In addition to the cut file I layered with some vellum + gold foiled cardstock by Shimelle.
I then stitched on the “I Love You” title cut with my silhouette from white cardstock. Along with that, I stitched on a navy heart feltie *I’ve had my pack of felties for months and use them on everything .. so many in one pack!
I then layered a few embellishments over top of my photo – including some DIY and from Crate Paper Gather collection. Oh, and can’t forget the white painted cork heart from the “I Cork U” pack.
I finished off my layout with the exclusive “Steal My Heart” sequin mix. There are so many mixes in the shop right now perfect for springtime! Thanks for stopping by!
Good morning, y’all!
I absolutely love sharing my creations online – what a blessing to have such a supportive community of crafters who share in our creative accomplishments! Thank you to everyone who supports myself, my fellow DT members, and SpiegelMom Scraps!
Recently, I’ve run across a little problem. I honestly can’t keep up with the amount of gorgeous product releases from the shop. I truly want to incorporate everything and I just can’t. But I’ll keep trying – and Saturday we’ll have even more products available to us. So stay tuned for that! This layout came together inspired by the coffee shop where this picture was taken, in downtown Greenville, SC. I got to spend the day with some friends who I hadn’t spent much time lately – so good! Anyway, I was so excited with how the layout came together that I completely forgot to add a title. And didn’t notice until I was saving edited images from Lightroom onto my computer – I realized there was no name to name a folder. Oops!
To begin, I spritzed some Shimmerz Vibez onto a plain olive background. I stamped a few triangles also and once that dried, I began layering my scraps. I included a frame, vellum, and Pink Paislee C’est La Vie ephemera from my stash. I glued and stitched and added my picture matted on white cardstock. Once I had my layering the way I wanted, I tucked a silver foil doily underneath my picture to finish it off.I stitched a “3” over top of it and added some wood veneer pieces for some additional texture. One of my favorite things to do with sequins is to individually stitch them onto my projects. I love the effect this has when I have the patience to do this! The exclusive sequin mix Evergreen Bough coordinates perfectly with my page! I finished off my project with a few stitched scraps at the top. Sometimes I’m happiest with my projects when I don’t use perfectly matched pieces from collections. This was one of those.
Thanks again for reading! Don’t forget about all the exclusive releases this coming Saturday.
I hope your holiday spirit has been extended through this weekend for NYE! I’m almost entirely done with my December Daily album.. just in time for my last-day-of-December goal.Sometimes I get so excited when the perfect photo opportunity arises, I forget to shoot in portrait and therefore have to get creative when I want to share landscape oriented pictures. I really love to create layouts in non-traditional sizes, and I’m excited to incorporate those together with traditional pocket pages in my Project Life album. Meanwhile, here’s an adorable picture of my incredibly difficult to photograph dog on a mixed media layout. I splattered my background with black acrylic paint and Shimmerz Dazzlers in I Lilac You. Once that dried, I layered some Pink Paislee Yuletide ephemera underneath my photo and added some sequins from the shop for some shine. I wanted to keep my pages consistent so I stitched the “18” from the themed cards for my album across the top. I inked a sentiment across the bottom, added some silver sequin stars, and then I was finished! So quick and easy. I love the beginning of a new year! I’m excited for where it takes me.
What are you most looking forward to in the coming year?
