Losing layout by Lea

Lea here…Last post this month which is almost finished and I wanted to celebrate the sea.
As I have always enjoyed creating the composition with a series of levels with different patterned paper and other embellishments such as white doily, soft white feathers felties, little cork hearts, a kind of banner made with a wire and related sequins in an irregular manner to create a soft frame around the picture, I finally used the shimmerz paints very diluted and splashed around the composition. losing

“Take a picture” ATCs set by Lea

Hi all, Lea’s here… I found a new small passion and it’s  for ATCs. Classic cards have always made me a kind of creative emptiness, but  it does not happen with the ATCs, not at all! I’m really enjoying it and this week I made two on the theme “Take a picture”.

takeapic2

I still used white canvas on which I spread a layer of clear medium gel.The first layer I did is a stenciled one: i use a bright Shimmers paint, Dreamscicle; I continued with some watercolor paint. When  dried I use several stamps and washi tape.

On each of the ATCs I created a focal point using various levels of patterned paper, I added  some twineand on the top two wooden cameras from Studio Calico. I also added some sequins from Jack O Lantern mix ( perfect for Hallowen, but it fits perfectly with my color combo!). Finally the little titles: I stamped two different labels on the same patterned paper and then, on each, I attached “smile” and “say cheese” made with Dymo. … I wrappedevery label  with the colored thread, I added below the thickness and I have applied on each card.

Here I am layout by Lea

Hello everyone, I’m here to show you what I made this week with the beautiful products you can find in our shop.

hereiam
For this layout I used a beautiful patterned paper: I used for background Dazzlerz Licorice stick with a stencil and I did some circle with Sea U in the morning  to give a textured and sparkling touch , thanks to the texture of these gorgeous colors. The next step was to create a base for the photo: an articulated level game with patterned paper, and other items such as: the glassine bags (in one of the two I put some sequins from Mint Chip mix, the same ones that I used also in the background), a white tag, a white doily, cotton yarn, cork hearts and a small wooden camera. Finally I added the photos I slightly thickened. I completed it all by adding splashes of various colors (white, black, gold and teal zircon).

Handmade by Lea

Good Thursday .. Lea’s here and today is my day and my project is a layout dedicated to one of my passions: I paint on cotton fabric and then I sewed objects of daily use; bags, cases, handbags and sometimes jewels, like the pendant at the center of the page.

handmadeOn the background I used a stencil and the beautiful and sparkling Gold Mine Texturez and three different stamps. I have constructed the various levels as the basis for the picture from a white doily, various patterned paper strips, washi tape, twine, a mini glassine bag where I printed the date several times.I finally entered the picture, placing it on the recycled cardboard to create thickness and give more three-dimensionality.

I added 4 mini clothespins, splashes of color, stickers words, and beautiful sequins: Lilac Twinkle, Jack Frost and Mint Chip.

Time well spent LO by Lea Biccelli

Hello there! Lea here. I am very happy to be here with this first official post to start this new adventure.
I made this LO by focusing at the center of the page, initially darkening the base color of the paper with Distress Ink; then again using a stencil and Distress Ink with blending tool.

To emphasize the picture I used  Gold Shimmerz Paints with a spatula by drawing a circle through the stencil: I love these textures pastas, perfect to be used in various ways and that give excellent results.

I also added a number of stamped to give more movement to the background.
lo feb1

I created a series of levels with different patterned paper, and between the various layers  I added a piece of tulle that I colored with Shimmerz, some twine, stickers, wood veneer.

Finally, the part that always amuses me: so many splashes of color.

Mixing Wood Veneers & Kraft with Color + DT Peak!

Hello everyone! Jody here today with a layout share & a little Design Team sneak peak!! First up, my layout. These last several weeks have been crazy busy for me which led me to create my first creative group on Facebook. It’s called “15 Minutes 2 Scrap” and it’s deticated to carving out time in our busy lives to breathe and create, even if it’s just for 5 minutes. This is seriously the only way I get anything done these days between working full time outside my home, family priorities, building our new home, running my small business & managing whatever else life throws my way. Sometimes all I need is 5 or 10 minutes to decompress by crafting a little. That’s exactly how this layout came together over a few days.  5 minutes at a time!
I used some Webster’s Pages paper & stickers from my stash, Chic Tags & Studio Calico wood veneers, Recollections Kraft heart stickers, Pink Paislee white rubber title “travel” and a Kraft heart from American Crafts.

I also positioned a tiny yellow heart sticker in the middle of our youngest daughter Abby and my “Pa” right onto my photo. I love doing this on photos at times, like in this case to show a special relationship. I love the look of natural Kraft with these muted colors in the papers. It’s just bold enough to stand out but it’s not overbearing.Thanks so much for stopping by tonight! I hope you were inspired to try this combo sometime. Feel free to join the Facebook group by clicking HERE!  I’d love to see you over there!  Lastly, here’s a peak at a few projects submitted by my new Sparklers Design Team!  Can you name the designers??@spiegelmomscraps, #spiegelmomscraps #DIY #scrapbook #watercolor #mixedmedia #cardmaking

See you soon!  Design Team reveal will be the week of January 17th!!  Get ready to be wowed!!

The XOXO wood veneer from the Dear Lizzy Serendipity Wood Veneers jumped out at me as the perfect title for this photo of my sweet puppy Lincoln loving on one of his favorite toys. XOXO_Adorable_Dog_Scrapbook_Page_Spiegel_Mom_Scraps_Guest_Designer_Juliana_Michaels_02I fell in love with the Heart Felt Fetti Die Cuts as soon as I saw them and couldn’t resist adding them and some of the gorgeous Blue Lagoon Sequins to embellish my layout. #HSCaptureLife: Day 11 ~ Today Was Totally Happy

Hello everyone! Welcome to my new blog subbies!! It’s great to ‘meet’ you here. I’d love to know how you found my blog and where you’re from!! Don’t be shy!! Please share in the comments!

Today I’m sharing another layout, inspired by Heidi Swapp’s Capture Life prompts. This layout is inspired by Day 11: Today was totally ______. This day was totally happy for sure! Abby & I planted flowers while our big girls were at school. We had a blast digging in the dirt, even if we were a bit chilly.  Some of the flower pots (not pictured here) were also for my Girl Scout troop’s bridging ceremony in June so this was extra special for us!!  In scrapbooking, and in life, the truly important things are these little everyday moments. Scrapbooking these moments is what I live for.  We live to remember!  Our lives are always crazy busy: soccer, school, gymnastics, Girl Scouts (2 troops), religious education, school, work and let’s pray we all stay healthy!! Treasuring these everyone moments means the world to us!

I still have some fabulous partial Clique Kits left that I’m trying to kill, while mixing in embellishments from my stash & my shop. These next several months I’ll be doing my best to kill various kits I have on hand & destash my stash!! We are close to breaking ground on our new home & the less stuff I have to move the faster I’ll have things back up & running in our new home!! Challenge accepted!

This layout uses Heidi Swapp’s bold & beautiful September Skies line along with some newer Heidi Swapp chipboard pieces from my LSS, a white doily, Freckled Fawn paper clips & a couple washi tapes. I also loosely followed this sketch! Below you’ll find a link to my process video for this layout on YouTube.

You can also watch my process video for this layout HERE!!  You’ll also see my using my FAVORITE new adhesive runner, the EZ Runner Grand!  This thing is smooth as butter and super easy to refill!  If you’d like to see a real life comparison between the EZ Runner and the Scotch ATG you must check out THIS VIDEO!!  The EZ Runner is half the weight and the refill just drops right into the tape fun.. No more wrapping adhesive around anything!!

Thank you for much for spending your time with me today.  I hope you’ve enjoyed my layout and have been inspired to capture your every day moments and document them!  Accept the challenge and get started today!

Until next time, do something creative today!

Creating Sequin Shaker Pockets

Happy Memorial Day Weekend everyone!  Today I’m bringing back a little tutorial that I did a few years ago and still LOVE it!  Below I have several step by step pictures on how I create some of my sequin shaker pockets.  It’s super easy and fun!  These little shaker pockets add a very fun element to you scrapbook pages, mini albums, Project Life and cards.  Here’s what I started with.  Pictured:  Aleene’s Tackey Glue, mini glassine bag, Gold Garland Confetti Sequins and Fairytale Sequins

@spiegelmomscraps @jodyspiegelhoff

In the photo gallery below, you can click on each photo to enlarge it.  When you do, you’ll see that I turned my mini glassine bag upside down and cut the back open with one cut down the middle and two small cuts going towards the edges (by not all the way).  Then, I randomly spread some Aleene’s Tacky glue along the inside and sprinkled one of my favorite sequins mixes, Fairytale!!  Then, I put some glue along the top of the glassine on the inside so no sequins could sneak out then closed the back of the bag and taped it shut.  Easy peasy!!

After creating this sequin shaker pocket I created this layout!  I used the fabulous Heidi Swapp line, Hello Today.  I have the full 12×12″ paper pad and love every single sheet!  I used the yellow paper with dots as my background, then trimmed down the star paper to 11×11″.  Since I already created a few things with this line, I had several decent sized pieces of patterned papers already cut so I used those to begin layering.

I added some fun pink doilies from Michael’s Arts and Crafts store, Maggie Holmes gold glitter Thickers, some stickers from Allison Kreft & Amy Tangerine and a few other little odds and ends 🙂                          And here are two sizes of the glassine bags I have in my shop!  These are by far the most popular for making my sequin shaker pockets, little treat bags, embellishment holders and more!  Last Christmas I even made an Advent Calendar!

Thank you for spending your time with me today!  I hope you’ll be creating some sequin shaker pockets of your own!   Here are a few links to help get you started today!  You can check out a fun YouTube video from my channel which shows you how I’ve created them in the past with confetti.

Adding Contrast with Cork!

Hello everyone!

I cannot tell you how awesome it is to be creating recently!  I’ve continued to be super busy stocking and packing new goodies for my Etsy Shop and designing some more fun stuff coming in May.  I’m also continuing to burn through my scraps of left over kits and other purchases I made before Two Peas in a Bucket closed their cyber doors.. so sad!

And so now I digress to tonight’s layout!  I used a hodgepodge of papers here from Echo Park, Dear Lizzy and another I’m not sure of anymore!!  When I mix up a few different papers, sometimes I find it easier to scrap with a black and white photo.  This doesn’t get much easier that a simple filter in Instagram!  I have to say I have the best little models 🙂  Here’s a picture I snapped with my iPhone of Abby ‘reading’ us a bedtime story a couple weeks ago.

@jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @echoparkpaper @americancrafts @shimelle, #jodyspiegelhoff #spiegelmomscraps #echoparkpaper #creativeagenda #corkchevrons #corkclouds #etsy #americancrafts #thickers

I’m always excited to create on a white card stock background too!  A clean slate.  This allows me to really stretch those scraps of patterned paper to the max!  Take a closer look at the white card stock….

@jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @echoparkpaper @americancrafts @shimelle, #jodyspiegelhoff #spiegelmomscraps #echoparkpaper #creativeagenda #corkchevrons #corkclouds #etsy #americancrafts #thickers

Yes, you see it now don’t you 🙂  I used a fun Kesi Art stencil with some Gesso and Distress Ink mixed together. I love how this turned out, just a hint of texture in the background without being overwhelming!  Here are a couple more pics.

@jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @echoparkpaper @americancrafts @shimelle, #jodyspiegelhoff #spiegelmomscraps #echoparkpaper #creativeagenda #corkchevrons #corkclouds #etsy #americancrafts #thickers

Another thing I really love to work into my layouts is some contrast.  It doesn’t have to be black on white or anything that drastic.. but just some nice contrast.  That’s where my love of cork and wood veneer comes into play. I’ve created a few new cork embellishments (some of which are self adhesive) like these fun clouds which will be in my shop this weekend!

Here are a couple more close ups for ya’ll.  That adorable little wood veneer bicycle is from Chic Tags and those cute cork chevrons are in my shop as well.

Thanks so much for spending your time with me today.  Now it’s time to decorate your Planners and set your alarms for May 2 & 3, 2015 for……

Dear Lizzy Wood Veneer Background

Happy April everyone!  I’m super excited to be back creating this month. I took a good month off a to rebuild my Etsy shop, update my blog, make some new connections and create some of my own embellishments! I’m very excited to show you a couple of the die cut CORK sets in action today!

I created this layout using a this beautiful Dear Lizzy wood veneer die cut background, which took me awhile to decide how to use it exactly.  I wanted some contrast so I mounted it onto Heidi Swapp September Skies collection paper with tacky glue and let it dry.  Then, I simply put my scraps to good use and grabbed a couple of my Fiskars heart paper punches and went to town punching!

@jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @dearlizzy @freckledfawn @heidiswapp @echoparkpaper, #woodveneer #hearts #heidiswapp #dearlizzy #fiskars #chictags #momentswoodveneer #chevron #arrow #spiegelmomscraps #cork #embellishment

Next, I chose this photo from our daughter Sari’s 8th birthday party in February (no this does NOT mean I’m caught up by any means!  I totally scrap out of order!)  I layered the Dear Lizzy alpha stickers right over my photo and underlined them in one of my new cork die cut heart pieces.  This makes more of a statement to me and adds some fun texture and contrast.  Here are a few more close ups.

@jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @dearlizzy @freckledfawn @heidiswapp @echoparkpaper, #woodveneer #hearts #heidiswapp #dearlizzy #fiskars #chevron #arrow #spiegelmomscraps #cork #embellishment

Here are a few of my favorite elements from a different viewpoint.  You’ll notice that even though I’ve mounted the wood veneer onto a patterned paper, I still popped up a few of the hearts and the pink and gold butterfly!  I absolutely LOVE my foam adhesive by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L!  It’s the best!
