First up is Amy Lee (otherwise known as The Craft Bunny). We began our crafty adventure together on Etsy and haven’t looked back. This lovely lady has been crafting and making cards like crazy for months. Her YouTube channel is a big hit and growing by the day. Next, I’d love for you to meet Sarah McClellan! You may have seen her creative and fun YouTube channel or in a few of the scrapbooking Facebook groups out there. This girl’s spunk and creative style really captured by eye last fall. She can certainly work the Heidi Swapp, sequins and anything layered like a scrapbook rock star! Here are a couple of my favorites from Sarah so far. She rocks the photography and the overall layouts! You can also find Sarah here:
The next Sparkler you’re going to adore is Ka Slagoski. Her mad card making skills caught my eye right away on her IG and I was hooked! Her clean style and beautiful use of stamps and dies are what many card makers strive to achieve. When I see a card by Ka, I think of the lovely Jennifer McGuire, who my daughters and I LOVE. Here are a couple of Ka’s cards and her social media accounts.
And finally, to wrap up today’s Design Team reveal, is the talented Yuliya Khudyakova. I absolutely love her beautiful minimalist, creative style. For today’s post, I made a birthday card with a matching birthday tag. I absolutely adore owls and think they are just some of the cutest critters. I decided to use the adorable owls images from the “Hoo Loves You” set from Whimsy Stamps to create today’s projects. I started the card by die-cutting a white stitched rectangle panel and masking the stitched edges with masking tape. I then, placed a Heidi Swapp Stencil over it and applied some mint ink all over the entire panel. I added some gray ink by lightly sponging around the edges. To create the gray frame, I used the chisel end of a T4 Copic Marker to color in the masked stitches edges. This panel was adhered to a lavender card base. Next, I stamped the owls in gray ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I popped the owls up using foam dimensional adhesives and added an aqua chevron twill ribbon to ground them. I pulled out a Studio Calico Speech Bubble Wood Veneer and stamped “have a” and “birthday” to the speech bubble in black ink and then popped the speech bubble with foam dimensional adhesive. As a finishing touch, I scattered some sequins from the Sunny Day Sequins and Blue Lagoon Sequins Mix from SpeigelMom Etsy Shop. I thought it be fun to create a matching tag for the birthday card above. I did some stencil work on one of the SpiegelMom Scraps Medium Shipping Tag and matted it with a gray cardstock. I customized the “woo-hoo!” sentiment using Avery Elle Elle’s Alphas and stamped the sentiment from Newton’s Nook Designs Newton’s Birthday Bash set. The owl and plum chevron twill ribbon were popped with foam dimensional adhesives. I finished the tag by adding the same mix of sequins as the card and tying yellow baker’s twine on top from SpiegelMom Scraps Etsy Shop.
I just love how this card and tag turned out! I hope you like them too and were inspired by today’s post! Thanks again for stopping by and don’t forget to stop by my blog. for the full list of supplies used to create today’s projects!
Hello there! It’s Ka from Stamping Smiles Designs and SpiegelMom Scraps September guest designer! I hope you all had a long and fun Labor Day weekend! Today, I have two cards featuring goodies from SpiegelMom Scraps Etsy shopand some cute critters from a couple of my favorite stamp companies.
“Miss You” Card
First card up today is this cute fox from Avery Elle More Stories stamp set! I used SpiegelMom Scraps Silver Stardust Confetti to create a starry backdrop on my night scene. I just love how perfect they are – the size and how they look! 🙂 To start the card, I die-cut a stitched rectangle from Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables die and masked off the stitched edges with post-it notes. I then blended Chipped Sapphire distress ink all over. I set that aside to dry while I worked on my stamped images.
I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copic Markers. The tree is actually a branch from Sweet ‘N Sassy Stamps Love Birds set, but I thought it was the perfect size to use it as a tree for this card. I used a coordinating die to cut the tree out and carefully fussy cut the fox and moon. I also die-cut a green hill using Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders die.
Once the sponged background was dried, I stamped the sentiment from the same set as the fox in VersaMark and white heat embossed. I adhered the hill and moon and popped the fox and tree with foam dimensional adhesives. I finished the card off by adhering the entire panel onto a kraft card base and randomly adhering those tiny silver stars on the top portion of my inky background to complete the scene. “Thank You So Much Card”
Next card I have for you is this cute birdy “thank you” card. The Varsity Sequins Mix from SpiegelMom Scraps was the inspiration behind this card. I love the blues, yellows and silver. Although, I didn’t use the blue and yellow sequins for this card, I did use the silver confetti sequins which SpiegelMom Scraps sell separately as Mirror Mirror on the Wall Sequins. To start, I masked and inked the background with mint, red and yellow inks with a foam applicator. That background panel was set aside to dry.
Last week I had so much fun using the Shimmerz Paints Dazzlerz Lemon Drop paste on my “Hello Sunshine” card and so, this week, I decided that I wanted to play with paste again. For this card, I used the Gummy Berry Blue paste and I think it’s the perfect color to replace the blue sequins from the Varsity Sequins Mix. Every time I make a thank you card, I always have to include some kind of hearts. That’s just me. I always want the card to appear like its saying “thank you from the bottom of my heart.” 🙂 I took out the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Spaced Hearts stencil and placed it over a mini glassine bag. I spread the paste evenly and set this bag aside to dry.
I stamped the two birdies, colored them with Copic Markers and carefully fussy cut them out. The images are from Lawn Fawn Chit Chat stamp set. I die-cut a white tag from Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Craft Die and printed a sentiment through my inkjet laser printer. I used SpiegelMom Scraps Navy Burlap Strings to tie the tag. Once everything was dried, I assembled everything to its place and finished the card off by scattering some silver confetti sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps Varsity Sequin Mix and added a Studio Calico Speech Bubble Wood Veneer on top of the bag.
I had so much fun playing with these fun embellishments from SpiegelMom Scraps! These are just a few ideas to use SpiegelMom Scraps embellishments on your cards, but there are so much more you can do with them! I hope these cards inspired you to get busy in your craft room! If you want to see the full supplies list for these two cards, you can visit my blog post here. Thank you so much for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your week!
Hello everyone! My name is Ka and I am beyond thrilled and honored to be a guest designer for Spiegelmom Scraps! I want to thank Jody for inviting me to guest design here and for all the awesome products she given me to create with. Every Tuesday, I’ll be sharing a card or two here for the month of September. Woo-hoo! Let me get started by sharing a little information about me, then we’ll move on to the cards. I am a longtime papercrafter who have dabbled in many forms of paper crafts, but my true passion is creating cute and whimsical cards. When I’m not paper-crafting, you’ll find me watching my favorite comedy TV shows, playing games at Dave & Buster, playing tennis, and hanging out with my husband, family and friends. 🙂
Now, let’s move on to today’s cards. This first card was so much fun to create. I fell in love with the Shimmerz Paint Paste when I was playing with it. I think I may just need one in every color! 😉
“Hello, Sunshine” Card
I started this card off by placing My Favorite Things Sunray Stencil over the white cardstock and sponged Mustard Seed distress ink, going outward from dark to light. Then, I rotated the stencil and filled in the gap by spreading the Shimmerz Paint Dazzlerz Lemon Drop Yellow paste with a long plastic palette knife. I set that aside to dry.
Once that was dried, I randomly added someSpiegelmom Scraps Glossy Black Sequinsand some Pretty Pink Posh metallic sequins. I stamped the sentiment using Avery Elle Elle’s Alphas and cut them into small strips. I added a strip of One Way Arrow washi tape to the left side. I finished this card by popping the sunray panel up on the card base with foam dimensional adhesives.
“You’re Awesome” Card
This next card, I decided to play with punches and patterns. When I first saw the Studio Calico Stars Wood Veneers in Spiegelmom Esty shop, I knew I wanted to make something with them. I decided to create a grid by scoring the cardstocks into thirds. Then I punched out some stars in 3 different patterned papers using a small star punch. I also punched out a tag with a scallop tag punch and stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Quite the Pair set and white heat embossed the sentiment. Next, I adhered all the stars on the grid and sew some of the Maya Arts Burlap Strings from Spiegelmom Scraps Etsy Shop to the stars. Then, I added some Studio Calico Tiny Stars Wood Veneers on top of the stars for a fun look. The scalloped tag was popped up with dimensional adhesives and a green bow was tied on top. I finished the card off by popping the entire panel with foam dimensional adhesives onto a navy card base.
