Tuesday’s Talent with Kelly

Hello again! I am back with my last post as the October guest designer and for today’s layout I am focusing on the gorgeous Sugar Maple sequins. I fell in love with these the moment that I saw them and really wanted to create a page showcasing these gorgeous sequins.

To begin, I stitched in messy circles on cardstock in gold thread. Once I decided where my photo and the large embellishment cluster would be placed, I the sequins around the stitching making sure to space out the various colors. To adhere the sequins I used Ranger Multi Matte Medium on the smaller sequins and glue dots on the leaves.

Glorious Days Vibez is a gorgeous shade of gold and was the perfect addition on the page. I sprinkled a bit on the background and the die cuts to add further depth to the page.

If you are interested I have linked my process video below. In the video I tell more about the process as well as the story behind the photo. Thanks again for joining me today and special thanks to Jody for having me as the October guest designer. Have a wonderful day!

Tuesday’s Talent with Kelly

Hello again! It’s Kelly and I have my third project to share with you this week. I did a layout similar to this last year and loved it so much I had to do it again this year. The photo is not great, but it is my son’s senior class schedule. In ten years it will be fun for him to look back on this and see the classes that he took his senior year.

On the background I used a few Shimmerz watercolors and Well Blue Me Down mist and the famous packaging technique. Once that dried, I used Salt of the Earth Paste-eez through a Tim Holtz stencil for some added texture.

For this layout I chose to work with the more masculine papers in Paige Evan’s Turn the Page collection. I cut the word Senior with my Silhouette software, using the font Blackout Sunrise. I just checked the shop and the sequins that I used for this project are already sold out!! However, the Magical Adventure and Lisa’s Starry Night packs are pretty close to the pack that I used if you are looking to replicate my project.

To adhere the sequins to the letter, I put double sided tape on the inside of the I and pushed the sequins down. Since this is a technique that I have not personally done before, I was not sure how well the sequins would stick. They stick amazingly well to the double sided tape which made it so easy to arrange the sequins.

Adding a few sequins around the page helps to bring a bit more bling to the clusters and helps to make the layout look more cohesive.

If you’d like to take a peek at my process, I’ve included a link below. Thanks so much for joining me today, and I hope this inspires you!

Tuesday’s Talent with Kelly

Hello friends! I hope that you are having a fantastic week. Today I am sharing a layout and process video in which my focus is on using Shimmerz Paste-eez Salt of the Earth, and Black Tie Event sequins. Unfortunately the Black Tie Event sequins have sold out, but I’m pretty sure that Moonshine Delight and Crushin’ on Purple will work as well if you’d like to replicate the sequins that I used for this project.

I used several Felicity Jane kits for the papers and embellishments for this layout. Once I settled on the color scheme, the layout came together fairly quickly.  Adhering a few sequins down the edge of my photo is one of my favorite go-to techniques when it comes to sequins. It doesn’t take a lot to make a big impact on your page.

If you have never tried modeling paste through stencils, this is the perfect one to purchase. The texture of white on white amazing, especially in person. For this layout I chose to use a geometric stencil because I felt like the graphic nature of the triangles worked well with the dots and lines on the patterned papers.

Adhering the tiny stars was easier than I thought, and I found that using Scotch Tacky Adhesive worked well. It dries clear which is a huge plus.  I love the combination of the silver stars and the holographic sequins. They are so versatile and can be used for so many different projects.

Thanks so much for joining me today, and I hope that you have a great week!

Forever

Hey there!  It’s Laura Whitaker back with you today, sharing my final page and process video as a guest designer here at SpiegelMom Scraps!

Once again I am working with Amy Tangerine patterned papers, Oh how I wanted to play with those pink sequins and these papers let me make them pop! In fact, the cut apart sheet had a fun Polaroid frame printed onto part of it and it inspired me to trim it out and create a fun sequin pocket to balance out my offset photo.

I began my page by adding texture paste, though a mask, to my background.

I did not use any dimension in the sequin pocket at all, and relied on mostly stitching to hold it together.  I love the way it looks! And how pretty are those tiny flower sequins!?

Do you remember back on the first of the month, the SpiegelMom Scraps team was hopping with Creative Embellishments?  Well, I still had this gorgeous piece of chipboard left from the products that I was given and I was dying to use it.  It inspired the theme for this page!  I embossed it with this really pretty, but old embossing powder and I love the way it turned out! I trimmed the piece down a bit to better suit my layout, which is a plus because that means I still have a bit left!

I cut a pretty mint tag to fit inside one of the SpiegelMom Scraps tiny glassine bags that I got. I also got this Amy Tangerine frame from the SpiegelMom Scraps shop, which I backed with a bit of paper to help the laser cut element pop out a bit more.

I used some SpiegelMom Scraps cork embellishments to anchor my trio of embellishment clusters I finished off my page with some light blue mist splatters, journalling and a sprinkling of sequins around my layout.

You can watch my process video here on my You-Tube channel here.

Lucky

Hey there!  It’s Laura Whitaker with you and I am super excited to be guesting here this month! Today I am sharing a layout that features a photo of my youngest son  and documents how he was born on St. Patrick’s day.  But I wanted to do it without doing an actual birthday page.

So I created a shamrock background cut file and pulled in some patterned papers with softer rainbow colours as well as some SpiegelMom Scraps Pandora’s Ombre sequins, Green Acres sequins, What’s Up Buttercup sequins which coordinate perfectly with my paper choices.

As a first step, I added some green distress ink through a wood grain stencil and some white texture paste through the same stencil to add a bit of interest to my base paper, prior to layering on the cut file.

Parts of the cut file were backed with patterned papers and some were backed with clear plastic so that I could insert sequins behind them.  On the layout I created for the March SpiegelMom Scraps blog hop, I shared how to make sequin shaker elements a design feature on a background.  For this page I wanted to do something similar but different, this page does not need dimensional adhesive to achieve the look.  You can see how to recreate this look by watching my process video, on my You-Tube channel.

I tucked this little wood veneer frame behind my photo making it another layer.  As an after thought I stitched words into it and I am so glad I did I love the look!  The frame is from the SpiegelMom Scraps shop.

I have had this large foam Thicker word in my stash for quite some time now, I am so glad that I was finally able to use it as it is perfect for this page!

I used some of the SpiegelMom Scraps “I Cork U” Hearts to create a shamrock that I layered over my title.  I love the way it looks and that I was able to use my goodies in a variety of ways!

I also used large cork hearts to create a larger shamrock, onto which I have layered a flair.

My third embellishment cluster also uses cork (I like the repetition) but this time in the form of a cloud shape. The cloud is from the SpiegelMom Scraps shop as well and is called “Corky Cumulus”.  A die cut sun, a fun flair and some more sequins round out the cluster nicely.  As a last step I added in some black rub ons (super old from my stash) I think they balance the black title out nicely.

As I mentioned, I have a process video for this layout,  you can watch it on my You-Tube channel here.

Supply List:  SpiegelMom Scraps  I cork U hearts, corky cumulus, white doily, glassine bag; Pandora’s Ombre sequins, Green Acres sequins, What’s Up Buttercup sequins; Amy Tangerine wood frame from the SpiegelMom Scraps shop; Accent Scrapbooking flair; Amy Tangerine patterned paper;  American Crafts vellum and cardstock;  Amy Tangerine “today” word sticker; Imaginisce rub-ons; Sharpie[; Ranger Texture Paste; Tim Holtz mask: Tim Holtz distress ink (peeled paint); Tim Holtz stencil;  Tattered Angels mist (splash); Smooch Spritz mist (yellow); Mr. Huey’s mist (taxi); misc. ticket.

Thanks for visiting and don’t forget to use coupon code 15LAURA to get 15% off of your order until the end of March! I will be back next week to share another layout with you!

Guest Designer Alex Hunter is in the House!!

Hello everyone!  Jody here to introduce a special guest ~ Alex Hunter!  She joined us for the Triple Hop over Labor Day weekend and we just couldn’t get enough of her loveliness!!   She’s back today to share this gorgeous layout!! Thanks so much for joining us again Alex!!

Hello everyone! I am so excited to be guest designing for SpiegelMom Scraps! Today, I will be sharing a fun and colorful scrapbook page using a few different packs of sequins

@spiegelmomscraps @alexhunterdesigns @jodyspiegehoff, #alexhunter #alexhunterdesigns #spiegelmomscraps #jodyspiegelhoff #scrapbooklayout #scrapbook #pink #sequins #diy #papercraft #scrapbooking

For this scrapbook page, I wanted to base it around the shapes of the sequins so they would blend in effortlessly.

adorbs2

With some of the sequins, I tucked them under some of the circles and some, I left by themselves to draw some attention to them. I love the colors of the sequins and how well they worked with the scrapbook paper I used!adorbs3

adorbs4

The yellow sequins really paired well with the floral paper and I think they look amazing on this page. Of course the light pink sequins paired well with the stripped pink paper. I love the pink sequins the most because they can probably be used with any scrapbook paper or scrapbooking supplies and still look amazing! adorbs5

I also decided to add some of the tiny silver stars around the page for a little bit of interest. I really love how they look with everything else because of how subtle they are but they also catch your eye in person. adorbs6

That is all for this scrapbook page! I had an amazing time guest designing and I hope you all have an amazing day!

Play: Process Video with Khristina

Hi Everybody! I am SO very excited to be back this week at SpiegelMom Scraps with my second Guest Designer project for the month of July. I am having a blast working with these amazingly fun products and I hope that I have inspired you to give them a try too!

Today, I am going to share a layout and process video using a few different collections and embellishments as well as a cut file that I created to make “fake” shaker pockets so much easier and faster!! What’s even better is I have included my basic title cut file below so that you can try it out too! You can find the process video by clicking here.

image_22dca126-381e-4d1b-b951-9f2e84dc8ab1_large image_8732f8f2-cbb7-436b-be57-5e07f83850a2_large

One of my favorite uses for all of these beautiful sequins is to create shaker pockets combined with cut files. The two elements naturally work well together and create a fun and unique detail on your page. The problem is that cut files and shaker pockets and can be messy and a lot of work. So….today I am showing you a way to make it a little easier and faster to get the same look.

Without further ado, here is my completed project and some close-ups as well as some helpful hints. Make sure to check out the process video as well as it gives more of a step-by-step guide to what I did to create this look.

Khristina GD Post
Khristina Guest Designer Project

By creating two layers with my cut file, I was able to cut the outline of the letters on regular white cardstock and then the filled version of the letters with sticker paper (cut thru my Silhouette upside down just like in the video—yellow side upJ ) This allowed the sticky side to be facing upward and easily adhered those sequins and details. I added a piece of clear transparency between the sticker paper layer and the cardstock outline layer and voila….the look of a shaker pocket with simple steps and sequins that won’t move around and pool up at the bottom of the letters!!

IMG_7210 IMG_7209 IMG_7211

From the SpiegelMom Scraps Store, I worked with two different sequin packages: Amy’s Sprinkles and Hot Right Now. I also used the Normandy 4 inch white doilies which I colored on the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink in Mermaid Lagoon. The last component that I incorporated from SpiegelMom Scraps was the super fun Felt-Fetti Hearts.

Make sure to click below to try out the PLAY title cut file. Make sure to share your project with me if you use the cut file to create one. Also, make sure to check out the process video that goes with this layout by clicking here.  I will be back next week with another fun project!  Happy Crafting!!

Tuesday’s Talent | Sarah McClellan’s Holiday Goody Bags

Hello again SpiegelMom Scraps fans!  It’s Sarah again, on the blog, for my final project for November. As I said last week, I made something Christmassy!  I geared up and got in the Christmas mood last Wednesday when I made my test Christmas card and shared it on Facebook and Instagram. @spiegelmomscraps @jodyspiegelhoff @sarahmcclellan @heidiswapp @americancrafts, #scrapbook #card #holiday #christmas #DIY #goodbag #shakercard #sequins #spiegelmomscraps #heidiswapp #christmas #poppinpinksnowflakes #goldgarlandsequins #gold  Here is the card I made!  I used cards, envelopes, and ephemera from the new Heidi Swapp line from Joann’s called Oh What Fun.  I used a 4″ Gold Foil Doily and Gold Garland Confetti from SpiegelMom Scrap Shop.  Heidi even “liked” it on Instagram and commented on it!  Very exciting! Continuing in the Christmas spirit, I have three different Christmas projects to share with you today!sarah 9First is a vellum goodie bag from Cosmo Cricket.  I sealed the bag shut with a 4″ Gold Foil Doily. Then I made a 3×4 shaker pocket with an old pocket photo sheet protector and filled it with Poppin’ Pink Flurries, Gold Garland Confetti, and a few 1/4″ gold sequins from my stash.  I added a couple of the soon-to-be-in-the-shop Birds Of A Feather white felt feathers. Then I layered on a gold foil snowflake, a Basic Grey Juniper Berry kraft tag, and the “believe” die cut from the Oh What Fun Heidi Swapp collection.sarah 10

Here is a close up of the goodie bag for more detail.  I also added a wood veneer snowflake on top from Michael’s and a few wood veneer stars from Studio Calico in the shaker pocket.sarah 11Here is goodie bag number two!  This time it is a kraft colored bag also from Cosmo Cricket.  I embellished it in the same way as the first, making a 3×4 sequin pocket and piling on the ephemera. This time I used another soon-to-be-in-the-shop sequin mix called Christmas Wishes.sarah goodie bag close up
Here is a close up of the goodie bag.   I also tucked a few wood veneer stars from Studio Calico in the shaker pocket.   Such a fun way to use a sequin mix!  The new Heidi Swapp collection is such a great match for the new sequin mixes in the shop!sarah 12

My last item is a gift tag.  I once again used the Heidi Swapp Oh What Fun collection.  The foundation of the tag is a 4×6 sequin pocket that I made using the same technique as in the goodie bags.  I filled it with the new Holiday Happiness mix which will be in the shop very soon!   On top I added a gold foil frame from my stash.  I also used a Queen & Co. chipboard star and punched a 2″ gold glitter circle for layering.  I tucked in a beautiful Birds Of A Feather white felt feather and added tiny letter stickers from Crate Paper After Dark.

I have had so much fun this month creating projects for SpiegelMomScrapShop!  A BIG thank you to Jody for asking me to be her guest designer for November!  I had never done anything like this before and it has been an exciting leaning experience for me!  I look forward to joining the big SpiegelMomScraps blog hop on December 1st!  See you then!

Tuesday’s Talent with Sarah McClellan!

Hello SpiegelMom Scraps fans!  It’s Sarah on the blog again, today, bringing you my second guest designer project.  It is a two page, Project Life, layout of our Halloween festivities.  I usually do one, two page, Project Life layout per week, but when there are special events or holidays, I will do an extra two pages for it!  @spiegelmomscraps @jodyspiegelhoff @sarahmcclellan @cratepaperinc @AmericanCrafts, #spiegelmomscraps #scrapbook #DIY #ProjectLife #cratepaperinc #americancrafts #halloween #afterdark #sequins #gold #doily #shakerpocket #thickers #stickers #corkstars #midnightfeltstars @spiegelmomscraps @jodyspiegelhoff @sarahmcclellan @cratepaperinc @AmericanCrafts, #spiegelmomscraps #scrapbook #DIY #ProjectLife #cratepaperinc #americancrafts #halloween #afterdark #sequins #gold #doily #shakerpocket #thickers #stickers #corkstars #midnightfeltstars

I used papers, stickers, and a 12×12 cut-apart sheet from the Crate Paper After Dark collection. The After Dark collection included a Spooky Glitter Thicker pack that has shapes and phrases that I just had to use!  I was lucky enough to get a sewing machine from my mother-in-law this week, so I’ve used it on a lot of the cards.  I think adding stitched elements to your layouts adds amazing texture!  @spiegelmomscraps @jodyspiegelhoff @sarahmcclellan @cratepaperinc @AmericanCrafts, #spiegelmomscraps #scrapbook #DIY #ProjectLife #cratepaperinc #americancrafts #halloween #afterdark #sequins #gold #doily #shakerpocket #thickers #stickers #corkstars #midnightfeltstars

I layered on the felt, cork, and wood hearts and stars on this card!  To add some texture, I looped several strands of gold thread and stapled them in place!

Well, that’s all from me today!  I hope that I can inspire you to get those memories scrapped.  However you document your memories, Jody will have just the right elements in her shop to help you make your projects shine!  I can’t wait to create another project to share with you next week!

Tuesday’s Talent with Amy Lee

@spiegelmomscraps @amylee @thecraftbunny @thetonstamps, #spiegelmomscraps #thetonstamps #stamp #ink #cardmkaing #goldsequins #goldrush #sequins #celebrateinstyleHi everyone! Hope you’re having a wonderful day! Today my card is showcasing gold sequins and silver confetti from SpiegelMom Scraps.

This design came to me when I was planning some wall arts at home. I was aspiring my ideal gallery wall and turned them into a card. My main colors are black, white and gold. I also incorporated some marble patterns to enhance the fashionista feel. I ended up LOVING this crisp and clean design.

First, I added some gold color and splatters onto the white background using Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Gold.@spiegelmomscraps @amylee @thecraftbunny @thetonstamps, #spiegelmomscraps #thetonstamps #stamp #ink #cardmkaing #goldsequins #goldrush #sequins #celebrateinstyle

Then, I created the mini arts one by one. I used my Spellbinders nesting oval dies to create an oval frame for the Eiffel Tower art (print out). I then stamped the sentiment onto my marble piece (also print out). The stamp set I used was The Shoe Wardrobe from The Ton.@spiegelmomscraps @amylee @thecraftbunny @thetonstamps, #spiegelmomscraps #thetonstamps #stamp #ink #cardmkaing #goldsequins #goldrush #sequins #celebrateinstyle

I cut out 2 rectangular frames using my craft knife. The small one was adhered onto a black background, then embellished with a white enamel dot. For the large one, I made it into a mini shaker using SpiegelMom Scrap’s Gold Rush Sequins and Mirror Mirror on the Wall Sequins. The images in the frame were stamped using the same stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Delicata Gold ink. I absolutely love the mini shaker art!

Finally, I assembled the card together with glossy accents and fun foam. That finishes the card for today! Below are some other variations. If you’d like to see the process, refer to the video above. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!@spiegelmomscraps @amylee @thecraftbunny @thetonstamps, #spiegelmomscraps #thetonstamps #stamp #ink #cardmkaing #goldsequins #goldrush #sequins #celebrateinstyle@spiegelmomscraps @amylee @thecraftbunny @thetonstamps, #spiegelmomscraps #thetonstamps #stamp #ink #cardmkaing #goldsequins #goldrush #sequins #celebrateinstyle

Tuesday’s Talent ~ Round 2 with Amy Lee

Hi ladies and gents! Today I’m bringing to you a series of perfume bottle cards. I’ve been itching to make something like this but there doesn’t seem to be any perfume bottle stamps out there. So I’m going to make my own!

I started by searching for various perfume bottle images on Google. I replaced the brand names with sentiments and friends’ names. I used some special fonts to add character to the perfume bottles. Here are some of the fonts I used: MA SexyPapyrus and Noodle Script. Then I printed them out and fussy-cut them.

@spiegelmomscraps @jodyspiegelhoff @thecraftbunny, #spiegelmomscraps #thecraftbunny #scrapbook #cardmaking #watercolor #washitape #sequins #loosesequins #etsy #craft #youtube #processvideo

I kept the perfume bottles black and white and created colorful backgrounds to highlight them. All the backgrounds are created with acrylic paints using different techniques – paint splattering, smooching and regular painting. I was just playing by ear.

I added washi tape to ground the focal point of the card. Finally, I finished the cards with sequins from SpiegelMomScrapShop and daisy cabochons from craftsutopia (ETSY). The sequins complement the colored background very well. I love the effect! The daisy cabochon reminds me of Marc Jacobs so I added it to the perfume bottle and it looked really cute.@spiegelmomscraps @jodyspiegelhoff @thecraftbunny, #spiegelmomscraps #thecraftbunny #scrapbook #cardmaking #watercolor #washitape #sequins #loosesequins #etsy #craft #youtube #processvideo

I hope you like these cards as much as I do. Please click HERE if you’d like to see the process video. Have a wonderful day!

October Tuesday’s Talent ~ Amy Lee is here!

Hello everyone!  I cannot believe October has finally arrived!  Here in Southeastern Wisconsin the weather is turning cooler and Fall is in the air, which I love!  I also absolutely adore my guest designer this month, Amy Lee aka The Craft Bunny!  We ‘met’ through Etsy and I’m so happy we did.  Amy’s YouTube channel is lovely and growing more and more every week.  Please give a warm SpiegelMom Scraps welcome to Amy this month!

Hi there! My name is Amy Lee. I am the October Guest Designer for SpiegelMomScrapShop. I have a YouTube channel called TheCraftBunny. This is actually my VERY FIRST time in a Guest Design Team and I am so EXCITED!

@spiegelmomscraps @thecraftbunny @jodyspiegelhoff, #thecraftbunny #sequins #spiegelmomscraps #stamps #ink #etsyshopToday, I am sharing an anime inspired card featuring some awesome sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps. I have always loved anime as a child. Their screen effects were extremely glamorous and very pretty. So in this project, I decided to channel my favorite anime memories into card making.

To start off, I stamped my Gorjuss Girl image in black, paper pierced her dress and then colored the rest with my color pencils. To make her even more realistic, I added a magic circle image from Google Images. I also made her a magic wand using a painted toothpick and some embellishments in my stash.@spiegelmomscraps @amylee @thecraftbunny, #DIY #cardmaking #Gorjussgirl #stamp #ink #fairy #sequins #sunnydays #mirrormirror #silversequins #flower #coloring

The card front background was created using pink, yellow and lavender acrylic paints. Then I adhered the focal point of my card using foam tape and hot glue. Then, I embellished the card using some mulberry paper flowers and sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps. To match the color scheme, I used sequins from Silver Sunrise Mix, Moonshine Delight, Gold Rush and Sunny Days. I love adding in elements from the same color family to add fullness to my project.@spiegelmomscraps @amylee @thecraftbunny, #DIY #cardmaking #Gorjussgirl #stamp #ink #fairy #sequins #sunnydays #mirrormirror #silversequins #flower #coloring For the inside of the card, I simply adhered some lace to prop up the card front. That’s it for this card! If you’d like to see more, please check out the process video on my Youtube channel. A full list of supplies is also available there. Thanks for stopping by and I will see you next week!

Farewell to Ka Slagowski, September’s Tuesday’s Talent

Today we are bidding farewell to Ka Slagoski, our Tuesday’s Talent this month. I have seriously enjoyed Ka’s posts and every little detail on her cards!  Thank you so much Ka.  I’m forever your fan!  I hope everyone enjoys, comments and shares Ka’s final guest designer post today.

Hello everyone! It’s Ka here with my final post as SpiegelMom Scraps September Guest Designer! I’ve had so much fun designing with Jody’s awesome products! I hope you’ve enjoyed my creations and thank you so much for all the sweet comments and support! And a special thank you to Jody for inviting me to be to be part of SpiegelMom Scraps!

For today’s post, I made a birthday card with a matching birthday tag. I absolutely adore owls and think they are just some of the cutest critters. I decided to use the adorable owls images from the “Hoo Loves You” set from Whimsy Stamps to create today’s projects. @copicmarkers @WhimsyStamps @jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @mayartsribbon @studiocalico @americancrafts, #spiegelmomscraps #studiocalico #americancrafts #sequins #DIY #CardMaking #whimsyStamps #ink #stampI started the card by die-cutting a white stitched rectangle panel and masking the stitched edges with masking tape. I then, placed a Heidi Swapp Stencil over it and applied some mint ink all over the entire panel. I added some gray ink by lightly sponging around the edges.  To create the gray frame, I used the chisel end of a T4 Copic Marker to color in the masked stitches edges. This panel was adhered to a lavender card base. @copicmarkers @WhimsyStamps @jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @mayartsribbon @studiocalico @americancrafts, #spiegelmomscraps #studiocalico #americancrafts #sequins #DIY #CardMaking #whimsyStamps #ink #stampNext, I stamped the owls in gray ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I popped the owls up using foam dimensional adhesives and added an aqua chevron twill ribbon to ground them. I pulled out a Studio Calico Speech Bubble Wood Veneer and stamped “have a” and “birthday” to the speech bubble in black ink and then popped the speech bubble with foam dimensional adhesive. As a finishing touch, I scattered some sequins from the Sunny Day Sequins and Blue Lagoon Sequins Mix from SpeigelMom Etsy Shop. @copicmarkers @WhimsyStamps @jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @mayartsribbon @studiocalico @americancrafts, #spiegelmomscraps #studiocalico #americancrafts #sequins #DIY #CardMaking #whimsyStamps #ink #stampI thought it be fun to create a matching tag for the birthday card above. I did some stencil work on one of the SpiegelMom Scraps Medium Shipping Tag and matted it with a gray cardstock. I customized the “woo-hoo!” sentiment using Avery Elle Elle’s Alphas and stamped the sentiment from Newton’s Nook Designs Newton’s Birthday Bash set. @copicmarkers @WhimsyStamps @jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @mayartsribbon @studiocalico @americancrafts, #spiegelmomscraps #studiocalico #americancrafts #sequins #DIY #CardMaking #whimsyStamps #ink #stampThe owl and plum chevron twill ribbon were popped with foam dimensional adhesives. I finished the tag by adding the same mix of sequins as the card and tying yellow baker’s twine on top from SpiegelMom Scraps Etsy Shop.

@copicmarkers @WhimsyStamps @jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @mayartsribbon @studiocalico @americancrafts, #spiegelmomscraps #studiocalico #americancrafts #sequins #DIY #CardMaking #whimsyStamps #ink #stampI just love how this card and tag turned out! I hope you like them too and were inspired by today’s post! Thanks again for stopping by and don’t forget to stop by my blog.  for the full list of supplies used to create today’s projects!

Tuesday’s Talent ~ Cards with Ka

Hello SpiegelMom Fans! It’s Ka here to share two more cards with you! Today I am featuring gold products from SpiegelMom Scraps Etsy Shop. One of the most used metallic items in my stash is gold and second to it is silver. I love the different effects and looks of these metallic! They’re just so much fun!

Here is one of the gold products that I used on my card:@jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @dearlizzy @americancrafts @mayartsribboninc

I decided to use the gold doily as a backdrop to help bring out the jar of bouquet. I know I didn’t do anything fancy to it, but I just love how it added the perfect shine to the card. The flowers from Avery Elle Petals and Stems set are stamped in pigment inks and carefully fussy cut. They were popped up on top of a jar which was also fussy cut from a patterned paper. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn Our Friendship Grows stamp set. I finished the card by wrapping the jar twice with a pink burlap string and tying that into a little bow.

Next gold products are these sparkly sequins and confetti:@jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps

When it comes to these fun sparkling sequins, I thought a shaker card is called for. Since I wanted to create the look of a collection of shoes displayed in a store window at the mall, I decided to have the shoes stamped in two rows using Encore Gold pigment ink. I created the shaker using some Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies, an acetate sheet and the stamped panel of shoes from The Tons Stamps.@spiegelmomscraps @jodyspiegelhoff

I filled in my shaker with SpiegelMom Scraps Tiny Gold Stars, Gold Rush and Gold Garland Confetti and sealed my shaker with the sentiment panel. The entire shaker was adhered to a sparkly DCWV Black Glitter Paper. I know this is such a simple shaker, but sometime simple is the best to go!

That is all for me today! Thanks for popping in and checking out these two cards! I hope you enjoyed them! And as always, if you like to see the full supplies list, click HERE.  I’ll be back here again next Tuesday to share even more cards using more SpiegelMom Scraps products!

Tuesday’s Talent, Ka is back!

Hello there! It’s Ka from Stamping Smiles Designs and SpiegelMom Scraps September guest designer! I hope you all had a long and fun Labor Day weekend! Today, I have two cards featuring goodies from SpiegelMom Scraps Etsy shop and some cute critters from a couple of my favorite stamp companies.  @stampingsmilesdesigns @spiegelmomscraps @jodyspiegelhoff

“Miss You” Card

First card up today is this cute fox from Avery Elle More Stories stamp set! I used SpiegelMom Scraps Silver Stardust Confetti to create a starry backdrop on my night scene. I just love how perfect they are – the size and how they look! 🙂 To start the card, I die-cut a stitched rectangle from Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables die and masked off the stitched edges with post-it notes. I then blended Chipped Sapphire distress ink all over. I set that aside to dry while I worked on my stamped images.@stampingsmilesdesigns @spiegelmomscraps @jodyspiegelhoff

I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copic Markers. The tree is actually a branch from Sweet ‘N Sassy Stamps Love Birds set, but I thought it was the perfect size to use it as a tree for this card. I used a coordinating die to cut the tree out and carefully fussy cut the fox and moon. I also die-cut a green hill using Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders die.

Once the sponged background was dried, I stamped the sentiment from the same set as the fox in VersaMark and white heat embossed. I adhered the hill and moon and popped the fox and tree with foam dimensional adhesives. I finished the card off by adhering the entire panel onto a kraft card base and randomly adhering those tiny silver stars on the top portion of my inky background to complete the scene. @stampingsmilesdesigns @spiegelmomscraps @jodyspiegelhoff“Thank You So Much Card”

Next card I have for you is this cute birdy “thank you” card. The Varsity Sequins Mix from SpiegelMom Scraps was the inspiration behind this card. I love the blues, yellows and silver. Although, I didn’t use the blue and yellow sequins for this card, I did use the silver confetti sequins which SpiegelMom Scraps sell separately as Mirror Mirror on the Wall Sequins. To start, I masked and inked the background with mint, red and yellow inks with a foam applicator. That background panel was set aside to dry.

Last week I had so much fun using the Shimmerz Paints Dazzlerz Lemon Drop paste on my “Hello Sunshine” card and so, this week, I decided that I wanted to play with paste again. For this card, I used the Gummy Berry Blue paste and I think it’s the perfect color to replace the blue sequins from the Varsity Sequins Mix. Every time I make a thank you card, I always have to include some kind of hearts. That’s just me. I always want the card to appear like its saying “thank you from the bottom of my heart.” 🙂 I took out the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Spaced Hearts stencil and placed it over a mini glassine bag. I spread the paste evenly and set this bag aside to dry.  @stampingsmilesdesigns @spiegelmomscraps @jodyspiegelhoff

I stamped the two birdies, colored them with Copic Markers and carefully fussy cut them out. The images are from Lawn Fawn Chit Chat stamp set. I die-cut a white tag from Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Craft Die and printed a sentiment through my inkjet laser printer. I used SpiegelMom Scraps Navy Burlap Strings to tie the tag. Once everything was dried, I assembled everything to its place and finished the card off by scattering some silver confetti sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps Varsity Sequin Mix and added a Studio Calico Speech Bubble Wood Veneer on top of the bag.

I had so much fun playing with these fun embellishments from SpiegelMom Scraps! These are just a few ideas to use SpiegelMom Scraps embellishments on your cards, but there are so much more you can do with them! I hope these cards inspired you to get busy in your craft room! If you want to see the full supplies list for these two cards, you can visit my blog post here. Thank you so much for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your week!
