Getting Sketchy Again with Laura

Hi Chaps!  Laura here, and today I am working with the third Let’s Get Sketchy sketch from November…

I love the versatility of sketches and I’ve adapted this one to make an 8.5×11 layout.

My favourite part of this sketch is the sprinkling of embellishments diagonally across the page.

You can watch the process video, in which you see me trying to decide whether to splatter or not, here.

I have used; doily, tag, glassine bag, cork stars, felt-fetti hearts, Peachy Sherbet sequins, Lilac Twinkle sequins, Moonshine Delight sequins and Glass Slippers sequins all from SpiegelMom Scraps.  I’ve also thrown in a couple of stars from Freckled Fawn, wood veneer acorns from my stash and papers from Pink Paislee.

Thanks for joining me today!  Happy Small Business Saturday!

My Universe with Laura

Scrapbook Sessions

Hi Guys!  Laura here today.  I was having an episode of ‘scrappers block’… only one thing to do – find a layout that inspires me and CASE it!  I turned to my Sparklers team-mate Yulia, and this is what happened.

Oh boy!  I had fun with the metallic shiny paints and mists on this one!!  I used a combination of paints, Heidi shines, spray mists and Shimmerz paints to achieve my background.  Whilst I had the mists out I dyed a doily too.

I coloured some wood veneer stars in a bright blue.  When matting my photo I wanted some more of this blue.  Not having anything in my stash that matched I painted some card with the mist so it matched perfectly.

I started adding a few sequins from the Glass Slipper mix, then some stars from Sunny Smiles…  then some stars from Fairytale 2… and then a few blue ones from Magical Ocean.  I found it hard to stop!!

I really love how it turned out.  Next time you are having a hard time starting a layout why not find a layout that you love and interpret it in your style.  Thanks to Yulia for the inspiration!

My Girl with Laura

Scrapbook Sessions

Hi Guys, Laura here sharing a layout featuring the gorgeous Glass Slipper sequin mix.

PicMonkey Collage

I’ve had a play with some new to me cut files.  To be honest they are so gorgeous it doesn’t take much to make a lovely layout with them.

I went for the layered approach and backed some of the apertures with patterned papers.  I added a few foam adhesive squares to pop up some leaves and flowers.

I then went through and stuck some Glass Slipper sequins down and added a few Moonshine Delight too.  I tried to place them on all the different levels of die cuts.  This mix of sequins really catch the light and having a bit of sparkle on all the different levels accentuates the dimension of the layout.

Hello Happy Days with Laura

Hi Crafty Friends!  Laura with you today…

Today I am sharing a layout using the beautiful glass slippers sequin mix.  I find this mix so versatile – if I could only have one sequin mix I would pick this one… I would also think life was very mean for limiting me to one sequin mix!!

Glass Slippers
Glass Slippers

The layout started with a cut file and some Cocoa Vanilla papers.

I soon noticed that the felt-fetti hearts in aqua matched the collection perfectly so I added them in to the mix!

I love to finish my layouts with a sprinkle of sequins it adds that little something, a little twinkle, and with the combination of shapes in this mix you get even more interest.

Products used:

felt-fetti hearts

glass slippers sequin mix

white doilies

If you fancy adding this sequin mix to your collection add the code Laura15 to your basket and save a few pennies.
