JUST LOVELY

Hello hello everyone!  The layout I am bringing you today is of my two grandchildren at the train museum, which they totally enjoyed.  Spending time with these two is a lot of fun, don’t get me wrong there is some discipline involved, well not much.  They are pretty good with their Nana and I truly adore being with them and they visit I just hate to say goodbye.

With that said today is my last post with the Spiegelmom Design Team.  I had so much fun with Jody and the gals on the team and I so want to do it again in the near future.  All of the products that are in the shop are amazing and if you have not ordered yet, I don’t know what your waiting for… you are missing out on the best sequin mixes, texture paste, cork die cuts, felt die cuts, and many other goodies.  I enjoyed using all of them on my layouts and with this layout, I used a lot of the goodies from the shop on it as well.  So let’s get started!

I used some the Dazzlerz, in “Coral Me Crazy” texture paste to make the small textured circles. The sequins I used are called Passion Flower, which I spread across the top of my layout and I also used a doily from the shop. Love this!

Here is a close up of the texture paste in Coral Me Crazy and the stencil I used is from Hero Arts.

The sequins are just fabulous!  Love this mixture of the Passion Flower mixture. The paper circles are punched out of some paper from my stash.

The wood veneer is from a Studio Calico kit from a while ago.

Here is a close up of the sequins again.  The tissue circles are from an older Felicity Jane kit.

I thought I would do some hidden journaling, which I used a glassine bag as one of the layers so I can slide the journal card right under the photo by a tap that I stapled onto a 3×4 journal card.  This is something you can do with your layout if you have a lot of embellishments covering it.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I also want to thank all of you who have left such wonderful comments each time I posted a layout.  This has been one of the best teams I have ever been on and I am going to miss it.  Take care all of you and don’t forget to support Spiegelmom Scraps by stopping by the shop and placing your oder today.  You can use Felicia15 till the end of the month for 15% off your order.  Bye bye everyone!

Sequins and Shimmerz

Hey there, Laura here today with a Dazzlerz/sequins combo…

IMG_9636If you are not a fan of sticking sequins on individually I highly recommend this technique!  Spread a layer of Dazzlerz (or Pasteez – note to self: must do this with Pasteez soon!) and while it is still wet sprinkle on some sequins.  You can choose to gently push them in with your fingertips, but I’ve found these little stars don’t need any encouragement to stick.

I made a photo collage in PicMonkey of the same photo repeated three times, two in black and white and one in colour.  Under the black and white photos I added some black acrylic ink and some black sugar paper torn from a sketchbook.  Under the coloured photo I added some vellum and Red-iculous Dazzlerz and Gold Stardust.

IMG_9633For a few extra details, I added a couple of labels and short title.  Again I kept the colour to one side and black and white on the other.  I also added a few gold stardust sequins to the black and white side because I just can’t help myself when it comes to sequins!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Scraplift Sunday with Crafty Meggy

Scraplift Sunday

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you’re having a great weekend! I am excited to share this layout with you because I had so much fun making it! I was on YouTube this past week and I found a new channel to subscribe to and I have fallen in love with her videos and her style. You can find her channel here (Paper Sweetpea). I watched a layout she posted a few weeks ago and fell in love immediately and KNEW I had to scraplift it for this weeks assignment!

SweetPeaScraplift2

Isn’t it just gorgeous?!!!

SweetPeaScraplift4footer

When I sat down to make this layout I knew almost right off that I wanted to use Dazzlers and Texturez paints from Shimmerz. I really love how the background turned out!! I went with the colors Foiled Again and Teal Me No Lies. I LOVE it!

SweetPeaScraplift5

My husband and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary on January 3rd and we were able to go out to dinner and a movie. It was so fun! One of my goals this year is to scrapbook more current photos so I picked this one to highlight our night.

SweetPeaScraplift6

I used this ‘love’ word thicker from the Fancy Free thicker set, I believe. It was originally silver, but it didn’t match the rest of the title so I painted it black with the Licorice Stick Dazzlerz you can get in the store.

SweetPeaScraplift7

I have a few more thicker phrases from an Amy Tan collection, I don’t remember which one, but I thought they would be perfect to make a unique title.

SweetPeaScraplift8

Here’s another view of the title and photo with all the layers. One of the things I really LOVED about the scraplift layout was the layers she put behind the photos. I had fun playing around with a bunch of scraps in my stash.

SweetPeaScraplift10

I used the Gold Confetti and 2 Cool 4 U sequin mixes, as well as the Cloudy Day Felties and a Chunky Cork Star in this little cluster.

SweetPeaScraplift11

In the top left hand corner I used a few tags with the sequins and a cute little grey heart from the Heart Felties pack.

You can watch my process video on my youtube channel below:

I hope you enjoyed seeing this layout I made using products from the store. Make sure to come on over and check out all the fun goodies! If you use the code Megan15 you can get 15% off your total order!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!

Fall Mini & LGSketchy Sketch with Rachel

Hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Time relaxing with family is such a gift, and I’m cherishing it! This post is picture heavy because I’m SO excited to share this fall mini album. Incorporated in my album is a full page using this week’s Let’s Get Sketchy sketch.

Target always has has smaller binders that fit 6×8 page protectors really well – and depending on the brand you purchase, you may only need to punch a few more holes. #minialbum #autumn #scrapbooking #papercrafting #shimmerz #sequins #spiegelmomscraps #LGSketchy #sketch #scrapchallenge #wermemorykeepers I got those gold glitter alphas and wood veneer leaves at Target too.. swoon. It looks perfect against that wood grain specialty paper I’ve been hoarding forever.#minialbum #autumn #scrapbooking #papercrafting #shimmerz #sequins #spiegelmomscraps #LGSketchy #sketch #scrapchallenge #wermemorykeepers

#minialbum #autumn #scrapbooking #papercrafting #shimmerz #sequins #spiegelmomscraps #LGSketchy #sketch #scrapchallenge #wermemorykeepers I’ve included lots of Crate Paper products in this mini – from old and new lines. Behind the “Give Thanks” title is a little Shimmerz Dazzlers in Coral Me Crazy. I love the added texture.dsc_0177

#minialbum #autumn #scrapbooking #papercrafting #shimmerz #sequins #spiegelmomscraps #LGSketchy #sketch #scrapchallenge #wermemorykeepers One of my favorite details in this mini is that shaker pocket filled with exclusive sequinsFalling Leaves.http://letsgetsketchy.blogspot.com/If you follow my layouts, you’ll notice that leaf looks familiar – I used lots of them here. They’re a beautiful mix of these Shimmerz products (1, 2, 3)#minialbum #autumn #scrapbooking #papercrafting #shimmerz #sequins #spiegelmomscraps #LGSketchy #sketch #scrapchallenge #wermemorykeepers I made a filler card with a stencil and Mari-Gold Digger texture paste and I love how it turned out. Aren’t those pictures I took of one of my besties fun!?#minialbum #autumn #scrapbooking #papercrafting #shimmerz #sequins #spiegelmomscraps #LGSketchy #sketch #scrapchallenge #wermemorykeepers It was so fun to work with a sketch created for a larger scale on a 6×8 layout! The title is Dear Lizzy and the scraps of paper are mostly from the Gather collection. The sequins I used on this page are an exclusive mix, Mocha Mint Dream. And I finished off with a cloud feltie.#minialbum #autumn #scrapbooking #papercrafting #shimmerz #sequins #spiegelmomscraps #LGSketchy #sketch #scrapchallenge #wermemorykeepers

I loved documenting these fall months in a mini, almost like a December Daily. Thanks for stopping in – I hope it’s inspired you to create!

Lovely – An Autumn Inspired Layout

#SpiegelMomScraps #Shimmerz #paint #fallcolors #CratePaper #AmericaCrafts #mixedmedia #scrapbooking #papercrafting #DIY @SpiegelMomScraps @AmericanCrafts @ShimmerzPaints @Wordsandpaperscraps @Cratepaper

Hi from Rachel!

Last week I got a shipment of really gorgeous fall colored Shimmerz products from the shop. I knew immediately I wanted to use them on some Hip Kit Club leafy cut files. Above is how they turned out.. so gorgeous! But they sat there piled on my desk for a week without any direction. I soon remembered that I had felt challenged to use a black background for an upcoming layout. And so it went…#SpiegelMomScraps #Shimmerz #paint #fallcolors #CratePaper #AmericaCrafts #mixedmedia #scrapbooking #papercrafting #DIY @SpiegelMomScraps @AmericanCrafts @ShimmerzPaints @Wordsandpaperscraps @Cratepaper The leaves were inked/painted/splattered with these Shimmerz products: Vibez Egg Noggin’ + Texturez Mari-Gold Digger + Coloringz Moody Mauve + Dazzlers Coral Me Crazy *You can use coupon code Rachel15 at checkout to get a discount on these products!

Hint: I left the cuts on my Silhouette mat as I painted (and used my heat gun to dry each layer) to help prevent curling.

To begin my layout I backed my photo with a glassine bag and some ephemera from the Gather collection. #SpiegelMomScraps #Shimmerz #paint #fallcolors #CratePaper #AmericaCrafts #mixedmedia #scrapbooking #papercrafting #DIY @SpiegelMomScraps @AmericanCrafts @ShimmerzPaints @Wordsandpaperscraps @Cratepaper I knew I wanted to mix in the leaves included in the ephemera pack to balance out the colorful painted ones. After I played around with placement a little, I stitched all of the leaves in place. I then added a few Thickers from Pink Paislee’s Take Me Away collection – including my title. Underneath the heart I bunched up some string for a little dimension.#SpiegelMomScraps #Shimmerz #paint #fallcolors #CratePaper #AmericaCrafts #mixedmedia #scrapbooking #papercrafting #DIY @SpiegelMomScraps @AmericanCrafts @ShimmerzPaints @Wordsandpaperscraps @Cratepaper The “happy place” chipboard is also from the Gather collection. I love how it looks on top of that postcard ephemera. To finish off my layout, I added a few gold embellishments.#SpiegelMomScraps #Shimmerz #paint #fallcolors #CratePaper #AmericaCrafts #mixedmedia #scrapbooking #papercrafting #DIY @SpiegelMomScraps @AmericanCrafts @ShimmerzPaints @Wordsandpaperscraps @Cratepaper

I love fall so much! I really can’t get enough of colors that remind me of this changing season. I hope you’ll challenge yourself on a project soon! Thanks for stopping by.

Make It Yours Monday

Hello Everybody and thank you for joining me for another Make It Yours Monday! I have a really fun and colorful layout for you today that I was totally inspired to create after seeing a circus themed party collection at my local party store!! I knew I had to use this photo of my oldest daughters kindergarten class’s “Clowning Around” spirit day from last year.

9-25-footer

I started, as I usually do, with a piece of American Crafts Textured White Cardstock. I splattered the background with Pretty In PinkHeidi Ho Blue, and Pink Stilettos coloringz from Shimmerz. I marked out where my photo will be and then used my Heidi Swapp Confetti Stencil to create the stars. I used the Dreamscicle and Lemon Drop dazzlerz through the stencil. I didn’t clean the stencil between colors, allowing some of it to mix and create a new color!

9-25-2

While I was waiting for the background to dry, I started on my photo layers. Using scraps from stash, I used the colors from the photo to help me choose the colors for the papers. I misted a white doily from the shop with the 2 pink mists I used on the background to create a pink one and layered them with the photo cluster also.

9-25-3

When the background was dry, I adhered the photo cluster to the page. I outlined each of the strips the photo is on with my black pen and added my journaling,  Chunky Cork Stars were the first fun embellishments I added around the page in clusters. Wood Veneer stars joined the cork, as well as some of the pretty yellow and teal sequins from the Believe In You sequin mix. I broke out some of my new colors of Nuvo drops and added some dots into the mix. I added the title “Class Clowns” to my photo and I was done! This is such a FUN and COLORFUL layout, inspired by a PLATE!!!

9-25-1

So, Look around this week, at colors, patterns, anything and take it to a page. Make It Yours. And come back next time to join me for another MAKE IT YOURS MONDAY!!!

I’m SO excited to be back with another Make It Yours Monday!!! This week’s layout is special to me! It’s an original sketch, my first ever!!!

my-sketch

My layout was inspired by my living room photo display…

6955265e59c16152d8cc5cb6613e36e7

I Started with a piece of wood grain paper from Simple Stories. I cut out the center and backed my photo with the inside piece. I layered a Medium Glassine Bag under the matted photo and then layered another piece of wood grain paper as the final mat.  I adhered 3 Normandy Doilies, cut in half, to the top and bottom of the matted photo for some texture.

14316835_10210356250123577_7387649189751259866_n

I set aside the photo cluster and began to work on my background. I cut down a piece of white American Crafts cardstock to about 10×10 and splattered some Shimmerz Coloringz in  Heidi Ho Blue and Pretty in Pink across the center as well as some Gold Heidi Shine.

Next, I moved onto the messier (my favorite) part. I started with some Spun Sugar Dazzlers and Rose Gold glitter paste from Bo Bunny. I used a burlap stencil from Tim Holtz and created my 3 areas of mixed media. After it was dry, I edged the white paper with Walnut Stain Distress ink.

14359224_10210356205642465_6566022140248507998_n

From there, I adhered my matted photo to the center of the page. I tucked a shipping tag into the bag layer behind my photo for my journaling.

Then, the FUN stuff! The embellishment’s for this layout were so fun! I used a scrap strip of the wood grain paper to make a cluster just above the photo and attached a scrap of doily left over from the other cut pieces from earlier.  This cluster also got some of the awesome Cloudy Day Felties and a Cork Star that I added some dot details to make it look like a starfish! Some green sequins from the pretty mix A Day In The Woods and some blue from the beautiful Lets Be Mermaids mix finished off this cluster.

14344870_10210356207802519_6405759811220375378_n

I added some more Cork Stars, again with the dot details, to the bottom left of the photo with some sequins from the same mixes and a wood veneer star. The top right corner also got the same fun little details. I added my title right to the photo and I was done!

14358816_10210356206802494_6707615841973686896_n  14370247_10210356207442510_6605754924433721064_n

I cant even get over how much I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Layout!!! I’m so glad you joined me this week for Make It Your’s Monday because this really does show you how inspiration can come from ANYWHERE or ANYTHING!!!
