Shake It Sunday with Sarah!

Hello SMS fans!  It’s Sarah on the blog today with my very last Shake It Sunday.  I am so thrilled to have spent more than a year with you all sharing my creative adventures!  Today I am sharing an 8.5×11 layout using a bunch of new summer collections and a ton of goodies from the SMS shop!  Here it is:

I started my layout with a 12×12 piece of American Crafts Textured White Card Stock that I cut down to 8.5×11.  I cut out the new April free cut files from Hip Kit Club on my silhouette and got started.

I used white gesso to prep my card stock for lots of mixed media.  I stared with Shimmerz Coloringz in Pretty In Pink and Heidi Shine in Butter.  I used the packaging technique and gave it a few splatters.  I made an embellishment cluster with a die cut flower from Oh My Heart, a puffy heart from Chasing Dreams and a couple of stickers from the Oasis sticker sheet.  The puffy dark green heart is also from Oh My Heart.

Next, I used Red Tape to adhere my cut file to the paper.  I sewed around the sun with my sewing machine and filled it with some of the gorgeous Pocket Full of Posies sequin mix.  Then I sewed it shut along the cloud edge to seal in the sequins.

I printed my photo on my Instax printer and layered a tag from Chasing Dreams, a Small Glassine Bag and half of a 4″ White Lace Doily behind the picture.  I embellished around the photo with a banner from Lovely Day and a die cut flower from Oh My Heart.

I used some older Thickers called Holly Jolly for my title along with a new acrylic word from Bella Blvd.  I embellished with a die cut flower from Oh My Heart, puffy stickers from Oasis and Cashing Dreams, and some old resin flowers from Dear Lizzy.  I finished the whole thing off with a good splat of Heidi Shine in Gold and a roller phrase stamp from Gather.

I hope you have enjoyed my last Shake It Sunday!  I wish the new SMS Design Team a great creative year!  A huge thank you to shop owner, Jody!  It has been a pure pleasure working with you and your fabulous team!  I can’t wait to cheer you all on in your creative journeys.  You can see the Youtube video for this layout here:

Hello Sequin Fans!  Welcome to my last blog post for SpiegelMom Scraps before switching over to the Instagram squad.

You know by now I like my layouts clean and simple with white space and also, monochrome.

Here, I have picked all of the flowers out of Chasing Azul (I have them tucked away for something else, keep an eye on the Instagram account!)

I’ve tinkered with this month’s freebie cut file.  I duplicated Baby, cut out the a, rotated the b and altered it in to an o.  Then I joined them all back together and cut our Baby Boy from vellum.

I added a flair button amongst a vertical line of sequins and called it done.  To make sure I had a guide to follow when lining up my sequins I drew a few sketchy pencil lines.  I figured that at least some little bits would show so picked a pencil that matched the sequins.

Thanks for stopping by!

Goooood morning!

Lately my projects have a theme..they’re all tiny and come together quickly. But most importantly, they allow me to really express my craftiness in the midst of crazy life. Definitely the #1 reason why I love mini albums so much.

I recently ordered “Night Moves” Coloringz from the shop.. a perfectly deep black Shimmerz mist- and knew I wanted to use it in contrast with something girly.

I cut down a piece of white textured cardstock and chose some watercolors that would contrast with the black and match the gorgeous “rockin’ pink ombre” sequin mix. I brushed some color on and once that dried I splattered the black around.

I matted my picture with patterned paper and vellum – Ada is the little black dog pictured along with my friend Katie. She is so ridiculously spoiled.. we went up to the mountains when there were a few inches on the ground and the temp was in single digits. Ada was not happy about walking around in the cold snow, so she picked her front paw up and began to limp HA. Wes and I know her tricks but Katie felt bad for her.

I adhered sequins all over the page – some with glue, some with mini staples. And spilled a few for good measure because they’re so pretty 😉

A few black and gold embellishments + stamping and journaling finish off this mini layout. Short on crafty time? Find some products you love and throw them together on a mini layout. You’ll love the results!

What About Wednesday: Bloom

Aloha My scrappy friends!! Today is my last blog post in this design team season. It is definitely sad to see some of the ladies I have become really good friends with go. Though I am excited for them and the future adventures I know they will have. I am also so excited to see what this new team brings to the table. Pushing and inspiring each other to create and make even better projects and layouts.

Since we are thinking along the lines of new beginnings, I decided to make a spring layout. When we bought our new house this past year we didn’t really know all the flowers and plants the previous had planted in the yard. By the time we looked at the house it was summer and most of the spring flowers were gone. The owner had also used rocks to cover the flower beds.

I am not sure if this was to have a cleaner look or because of all the rain. But this spring as green shoots grew up from the rocks the kids and I started to get really excited about all the growth. What would be coming from these leaves and how many.

We got lucky and had some daffodils, some tulips, a lilac type tree, and these really pretty pink and purple flowers. covered in droplets of rain they just glimmer, I took out my nice DSLR and captured their beauty. I am glad I did because a few days later my girls picked over half the flowers and then the rain just knocked them down. They were gorgeous and regal looking for the short time they made their appearance.

I knew that when making a layout with this image, I wanted a collection that would really bring out the colors in the picture. The Pink Paislee Paige Evans Oh My Heart Collection has tons of flowers and purples. Starting with white cardstock, I cut it down to 8 1/2 by 11 and then matted it with a pretty green watercolor patterned paper.  Using this size really just makes the photo be front and center and the focal piece.

At the top of the layout I added some purple acrylic paint and a stencil with Shimmerz Paste-eez Salt of the Earth paste. I wanted a light stenciled pattern over the purple. I knew my photo would cover most of it so I only needed it to be subtle.

Under the photo I built an embellishment cluster on a white doily. I layered a tag, some die cut flowers, some chipboard pieces, and some small grey feltie hearts. I used my tiny attacher to adhere some of my pieces for some metal texture.

I used gold glitter thickers on the bottom of the photo for that WOW factor. These are my favorite thickers, they really add a punch of amazingness especially when you add them right on the photo.

On the bottom half of the layout I layered strips of patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Paige Evans Oh My Heart collection. I used colors that were already in my photo, except for the pink. I had wished that color was in there just because a dash of pink always makes things look better.

In different areas of the layers I added die cut flowers from the collection. I stapled some on, used my tape runner and also pop dotted some of the flowers. I really wanted to create a lot of dimension in the layers.

I also tucked in some wood hearts from the Wild at Heart collection and some Love U Tons Felt Hearts.

with the chipboard and feltie hearts all layered in the papers everything looks all nestled in. Kinda reminds me of the flowers nestled in the rocks. Lots of textures going on.

All along the bottom layer I added A Mermaid’s Tale, Hot Right Now and Blues Travelers sequins on the flowers. I really like how this make those flowers stand out and adds something fun to that bottom layer.

I scattered sequins all down the left side of the left as well. I mostly used the little tiny silver stars. They are so cute and with my silhouette pick up tool, they are so easy to get on the layout.

Here is a look at the whole layout.

I also made a process video to go along with this layout for my personal youtube channel. Which you can watch right here below.

Don’t forget just next week the new SpiegelMom Scraps team will be starting, give them a warm welcome, they are so talented!! Also be sure to subscribe to the SpiegelMom Scraps Youtube Channel, that is where I will be posting this upcoming year and I am so excited to be making and sharing more amazing layouts and ejects with you.

I hope you have an inspired day!!!

~Lucky In Love~

Happy Tuesday my scrappy friends!! I’m excited to be here with you on a Tuesday, for something a bit different!!

Today, my layout is full of sparkle and sequins. What’s a St. Partricks Day layout without both? I started with a piece of American Crafts white cardstock, which I LOVE, and is available in the shop!!  A piece of shamrock paper, cut to 3.5″, served as the topper to my layout. I used very thin gold washi tape to hide the seam and mounted my photo on pretty sparkly gold cardstock. I did the packaging technique with some Shimmerz Sprits in Bamboo Leaf and Glorious Day Vibez  to give the photos something to rest on. Then, I backed the mounted photos with some fun rainbow paper (what’s a St. Paddy’s day without a lucky rainbow?!?) and a lacy doily for some softness.

I added my title in the center, under the photos and then, SEQUINS!!!! I took the Mermaid Green sequins and scattered them around the base of the page, on the white cardstock. I also took the gold mirrored sequins from the Raspberry Daisy Dream mix for a pop of gold.

I hope you enjoyed todays layout and will check out the shop for some of theses and other fun products. When you make a purchase, use LISA15 to recieve 15% off all your purchases!!!

Oh Happy Day by Evi

Hello scrapbook friends! Welcome to the SpiegelMom Scraps blog for todays dose of inspiration.  I am working with the Strawberry Bubblegum sequins and Rockin Pink Ombre.  I am scrapping a 5×7 photo of Miguel and I taking a selfie.

I started off with a Heidi Swapp Sun Burst stencil and used my Dylusion Paint in Lemon Zest with a Ranger blending tool.  I then used Tree Hugger Shimmerz Past-eez through a stencil from Prima.  I then wanted to add pink so i mixed pink paint and modeling paste.

Since I started out with all the color in the background, I want to utilize embellishments from my stash, so I thumbed through an older Heidi Swapp collection, Favorite things.  I loved the acetate piece that said ‘Oh Happy Day,’ I made that be my title.

For added detail, I matched my sequins to the color of the modeling paste.  So Strawberry bubblegum went with the mint green areas and Rockin Pink Ombre in the pink areas.  I used Scotch quick dry glue to adhere them.
