Make It Yours Monday~ So Lovely

Hello my scrappy friends and thanks for joining me for another Make It Yours Monday on the Spiegelmom Scraps blog!!! Today, I took on a challenge to recreate this beautiful Pinterest pin… ( I cant find the original pinner, but it’s so beautiful!)

I began my layout with a piece of floral patterned paper and mounted a piece of white American Crafts cardstock on top, after I roughed up the edges and inked them with spun sugar distress ink. I use some Shimmerz mists in Night Moves coloringz and Cotton Candy spritz to create my splatters in a diagonal. For my photo mats, I used some of my scraps from my scrap box and layered up some patterns that complimented each other. A piece of soft grey was used as the bottom layer to bring a bit of darker color and attention to the photo.  Some soft texture was added with the addition of a 8″ doily, found in the shop. Some banners and a punched heart were used to bring attention to the bottom of the photo and keep your eye moving around the page.

My title went in the bottom right of the photo cluster and is done in white to keep the soft feel of the layout.

I added a few chipboard pieces to add more depth and height at the top right corner of my photo and sprinkled some light pink iridescent sequins from the Rockin Pink Ombre mix  as well as some shimmering clear Moning Dew Drops. A few tiny word stickers and I was done. I am in love with the soft, flowery feel of this page and I love how it compliments my photo perfectly!

I hope you will pick up some of these fantastic products from the shop and give a flowery layout a shot! Dont forget, when you order…

Fuse It Fun Day- Hey, Craft Today!

Happy Sunday everyone! Ali here with another Fuse It Fun Day post! Today I am sharing a layout for the May theme at SpiegelMom Scraps- April showers bring SEQUIN flowers! I took this theme quite literally with this layout, and actually made a sequin flower shaker! Take a look!

I made the flower in two parts, first the top, or the petals, using the stunning Summer Paradise sequins. Then I fused the little leaf, using Jaded Hearts! Next, I layered the petals with the leaf and added a chunky cork heart with my stapler! I LOVE how this little embellishment came out!

Here is the full layout, all about how much my children love crafting! I love seeing them be creative, it makes my heart happy! Do you craft with your kids? Have you scrapped about it? I would love to see your layouts about crafting!

I hope these posts inspire you to grab your fuse and start making things, even if you don’t do project life (like me)! If you don’t have a FUSE, what are you waiting for? I use mine all the time, I think you will love it! And you can save 15% right now!

Sketch it our Saturday/ Auntie on duty

Good morning everyone!!

So who is excited that this is a long weekend??!! (Hand in the air, jumping a little!!) lol And oh man, summer started here Friday, so a little more sleeping in and then running around with the kids! So much fun to come this summer!

Well this morning I’m here to share with you a layout and sketch that I crated.

I play around with making my own sketches off and on all the time. If i’m not in the mood to scrap or just cant actually get in to my scrappy room cause of other things going on, I’ll pick up on paper pad and sketch here and there.

Ok, so yes I know this is a goofy picture of my youngest daughter. My sister had come to baby sit so I could get some things done one day and I came back to this. My daughter is really light haired, maybe strawberry blond, and you cant really see her eye brows very well, so my sister thought it would be funny to draw them on with eye liner and have her make faces lol.

Now back to the layout, lol. I started with picking the goofy pic of my daughter, and to be honest, I started with the bottom of my layout, this inst something I normally do. I had grabbed an Amy Tangerine collection, Better together, I wanted bright and playful just like the picture.

I did the strip across the bottom of the layout, added a cut-file I had set to the side, with others I just hadn’t used yet. Then I jumped to the top of the layout and started layering my pattern paper strips there and I decided to add cut-file in there too.

I know in my sketch it shows circles cascading down the layout, but I decided to use squares, this was because I found a cute little cut apart sheet that I wanted to use, lol.

Then I started layering a frame and a larger ampersand behind my photo, along with a few acetate pieces.

I worked my way down the layout at this point and started to add the circle ephemera and the flowers to the bottom strip. I added my title about that and then my favorite part!! I pulled out my sequins and started to play!!

I used a mix of sequins on this layout, Jaded Hearts, Wild and Free and Gone with the Wind. These colors matched perfectly with this Amy Tan collection and I loved that I got to add a few little flower sequins in there!

Thanks for stopping by and seeing what I made today and I hope to see you play along with this sketch and if youd like a little discount on some SpiegleMom goodies, use this code below when you check out in the shop!

Scrappy Friday – Just to say Hello

Hello there,

So happy to meet you again on Spiegelmoms Scraps blog!

I’m here today with a card, just like last week, which is a bit unusual for me since I don’t make much cards…..

But I thought this one perfectly fits the Build a Snowman sequins…. and the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dream papers perfectly fit the May Theme.

This time, I didn’t use inks or pastes, just matted different papers together. The sequins give the final sparkling touch. This is what I really love about sequins, they highlight any project you make, giving it the last touch it needs!

Even if I don’t make many cards, I do like making them because, again, it is part of the process of sharing. You create a project, but for someone else, in order to make a surprise. And I like surprising people. Who doesn’t like to receive a happy mail?

This one will fly to England, it is a modest present for my 400th follower on Instagram. This is also what I love about scrapbooking and social media. You can share with people from all over the world on a click! How fantastic! I can’t (and don’t want) to get used to it!

See you next month for a new Scrappy Friday, and this time…. no card!

Have a nice weekend!

Love from France.

Christine

Make It Yours Monday~ You are the Light…

Hello everyone and welcome to a SUNNY and Bright Make It Yours Monday!! It’s pouring here, so I hope this page brings some Sunshine and Cheer to you if your sharing the weather with me!!

I LOVE the fun and bright colors of the You are my Sunshine mix, and I knew I had to use them when I saw these photos! They are the perfect compliment to my daughters Easter outfit!!

So, to start my layout, I used some Jeni B Bleu and Glorious Day Vibez to make some splatters on a piece of American Crafts textured white cardstock. I then used some black pigment ink to stamp the flowers along the bottom. I ran some pretty teal washi tape along the bottom and a skinny gold tape across the middle of the teal.

My photos were so bright and colorful, that I just did a simple mat with sky blue vellum to help them stand out. I used the Cloudy Day Felties and a FREE Spiegelmom Scraps cut file to create the top cluster above the photos. I used some of the yellow’s from the Sunshine mix to make the sun SHINE! I stamped my title in the center of the sun and then, a sprinkle of the You Are My Sunshine sequins mix and Cork butterflies were the finishing touch!!

I added some jounaling to the right side of my layout, under the photos and I was done. I am surprised I was able to leave my layout with a cleaner look!

I hope you enjoyed my layout today, and will head on over to the shop to pick up some of these fantastic products to add to your pages!!! Dont forget…

Fuse It Fun Day – Bounce!

Happy Fuse It Fun Day! So glad you are here! Hope you are having a great day 🙂 Today I am sharing a layout with a giant shaker pocket!

I love love love the Gone With the Wind sequin mix, paired with Amy Tangerine’s Oh Happy Life, they are just pure magic!

I used my cameo to cut out the big block letters. Then I made a giant shaker pocket to go down the middle of my layout. I adhered my big title right on top of the shaker so the gorgeous sequins move freely behind the title! A few embellishments here and there and done!

This layout was super quick and easy, but those sequins pack a big punch!

Thanks for hanging out with me, hope you have a scrappy Sunday and a fabulous week!
