Hello again, everyone! Missy Whidden here, and I’m back today as the December Guest Designer. I have another Winter layout to share using some beautiful sequins from the On Pointe and Aquarius Sequin packs along with lots of the Crate Paper Snow & Cocoa collection. Here are a few sneak peeks of my layout. I used lots of gesso, paint and ink sprays on the background and used my Silhouette Cameo to cut some vellum snowflakes.
Watch my process video here to see the entire layout and how it all came together. I hope you like it and gain some inspiration!

Sleigh bell ring, are you listening? Today’s layout will transport you right to a winter wonderland!! Lots of glistening (sequins) and snowflakes are happening on this page!!
I began my layout with a navy cardstock as my base and created a blizzard by splattering some white dylusions mist and Shimmerz Snow day on the background. While the splatters were drying, I matted my photo on some light blue glitter paper and again with some white to make it really stand out. Using my scan n cut, I also cut the snowflakes from the Free Flakey cut file available in the shop.
After the snow splatters were dry, I adhered my photo to the layout and added my title right underneath, using some silver thickers and tiny tile letters. THEN, I got to the fun part of the layout, the snowflakes!! I adhered some thread to each of the snowflakes and then strung sequins from The Nice List as well as some beautiful wood grain White Oak sequins onto the them.
I glued the snowflakes down and then wrapped the end of the threads around to the back of my layout. Using tweezers, I flipped each sequin over to lay flat and used Multi Medium-Matte to adhere each on into place.
For just a little more texture and sparkle, I scattered a few loose sequins around the page and that was it! Fairly easy layout but with a BIG impact!!
Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to head over to the Spiegelmom Scraps shop and grab some of these amazing products!! And, dont forget,
Hey y’all, Ali here! I have a quick post today, winter germs have ravaged my house lately and they don’t show any signs of stopping…so before I go on a nyquil induced ramble, let’s get to why you are here-scrapbooks and sequins!
Last Christmas my daughter asked for snow (enter wide eyed expression here). We live in Texas. Her favorite movie is frozen. I don’t know Elsa. But there was one saving grace-Sea World! Typically they have a whole winter wonderland set up, complete with a real live snow machine! Of course, on the day we went, it was broken-cue the tears. Instead they had flurry machines throughout the park. My snarky toddler was not impressed. So, what do I do? Um…take a picture of course. So here she is, in all of her snarky glory, hating the fake snow (wearing shorts and a t-shirt), and being mad that the promise of snow never did appear.
So the theme this month is “use those tools” so I decided to give my old heat tool another go. I have to say, I really hate embossing powder, but I love the way these embossed snowflakes came out. The Shabby Chic Christmas sequin mix might just be my newest favorite mix, and it looks awesome with snow flakes!!!
And just so you guys know, since I made this layout, it actually snowed in Texas, a few days ago…so this snarky toddler got her wish (a little late). And she was quick to remind us that we “lied” when we said it didn’t snow in Texas!
But really…how awesome are those teal wood grain sequins in this mix? Ok…this is way longer than it was supposed to be. Sorry for the ramble, happy Sunday!
Hi! It’s Karla back today for a Creative Card feature. This month our theme is winter and tools – fun!! Of course, with Christmas around the corner, I wanted to get a few more Christmas cards made, so I pulled out my Cuttlebug, dies and stamps and three of the new sequin mixes from the SpiegelMom Scraps Store – Birthdays and Balloons, Happy Happy Winter and Puppy Dog Tails! I really love how the bright colours that I chose from these mixes look so fun and festive.
These crazy birds just make me laugh everytime I see them, and I’m sure that whoever I give this card to will share a smile. I used a Pretty Pink Posh die and my Cuttlebug to diecut this neat scalloped square before watercolouring my little guy and adding a cute little Santa hat.
Inside, I stamped a sentiment from the Tim Holtz Crazy Bird Sentiment stamp set and used some bright, fun sequins for a pop of colour.
Here’s a closeup of these beautiful sequin mixes I used today – Birthdays and Balloons, Happy Happy Winter and Puppy Dog Tails!

Hello, friends! Missy Whidden here, and I’m really excited to be the December Guest Designer this month! I’ve got four projects and process videos coming up every Tuesday. This month’s theme here is Winter. I live in Florida, so we don’t really have a true Winter like the northern states. So for this page, I went with a wintry color scheme. And my photo was taken in January, so that counts as Winter, right? 🙂 Here are a few sneak peeks of my layout. I used some beautiful sequins from the Aquarius and Peachy Keeny packs.
Be sure to check out my process video here to see the whole layout and the steps I took to create it.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Here’s a discount code for you when you’re shopping in the store. Have a great day!

Who said quick and simple scrapping has to be boring? Today I have a simplistic layout to share with you that has a big impact! Just 2 colors, some cut files, gorgeous sequins and a great photo are all that went into this layout!
This layout started by using some of the Puttin On The Glitz Paste-eez and a snow stencil. I applied the paste-eez to a full size sheet of white cardstock, but only around the edges.
While that was drying, I trimmed down a soft pink cardstock by 1/2″ all around. I then trimmed another sheet of white cardstock by 1/4″ less than the pink to create a boarder. I stitched these two sheets together using my sewing machine and light pink thread.
After I matted my photo with the same pink cardstock I used in the larger layer, I added it to the layout with some foam tape for some dimension. Next, I used the FREE Spiegelmom Scraps Flakey cut file and created my own mini snow storm, adding the die cut snowflakes from the top left corner down to the bottom right. My title went under my photo, using some white puffy alpha’s to keep semi-monochromatic look going.
No page is complete without some sparkle!! Using the Unicorns & Rainbows, I added a deep pink sequin from the mix to the center of each snowflake. The softer pinks were added around some snowflakes. To finish up, I added the date and adhered the layout to the cardstock with the texture past.
I am surprised with myself. I usually dont know when to stop, but I love this clean and simple look!! I hope you enjoyed todays project. Check out the shop for the products I used today and so much more. Use LISA15 for 15% off ALL you purchases!! xo
Happy December! I love December and gearing up for Christmas. But I have a confession…I don’t do December Daily! Honestly, I just know I wouldn’t finish it, so why start? But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to document those memories and traditions…so I created this layout (and I will probably mimic one like this year after year) to remember some of the holiday traditions our family enjoys- like baking cookies, making gingerbread houses, and picking a new ornament each year!
So this month we are challenging ourselves to use those tools! I picked my sewing machine, because I love the way little pockets look sewn up with some sequins inside!
I used vellum to cover the areas my photos weren’t going to be, and then I dumped a whole bunch of holiday sequins underneath and sewed around the little pocket to hold them all in! More specifically I used Oh What Fun! and Happy Happy Winter because they are both so amazing and I fear running out of any of my mixes, so I try to use them as sparingly as possible..that is probably a little crazy, huh?
With a bit of journaling for each topic and a couple of embellishments here and there, my layout was complete! I just love how this turned out, it will be so fun to look back on each tradition and to see those gorgeous sequins shaking about!
