Scrappy Saturday- Good Vibes

Good morning everyone!! I hope your having an amazing weekend, we’ve had a long weekend here and the kids have been having a blast! Our weather has went from freezing to in the 80’s again lol, our weather cant decided what it wants to do here!

But on to the scrapping and pretties!!

This month were playing with circles and this is the sketch were playing with this week. I love playing with sketches and circles are a fun switch up too!! I have to be honest, I usually stick with squares and rectangles, so its fun to break out of my norm.

I loved this months new sequins and I really wanted to play with the Dream Land mix. I want to play with them all but I dont know what a layout would look like with ALL of them on there lol. Anyways, I went through my scrappy stash and pulled out what I had left over from the Girly and strong kit from The Fairy tale club. The kit had everything but the purple in it, and I hate that I didnt use the purple cause its one of my favorite colors! But all the other colors matched!!! And I was so happy about that!

I started out playing with a little Shimmerz on the background. I used Spritz Cotton Candy, Dazzlerz Sea U in the morning and splattered a little Shimmerz Bumbly Bee on there too! I do have to say that I am loving Bumbly Bee, its amazing! The shimmer to it is fantastic! Anyways, back to it. After I let the background dry, I sewed four circles on the background in black thread and then started the layering.

Usually I wait to put my sequins on last but this time I started with them! I pulled out my sequins and started placing them around my sewn circles. I wanted to play with them so bad and loved the way they sparkled!! After I placed them down, I thought I should probably get some pretty paper and pictures put down. So I pulled out some pictures of me, of course playing with snapchat again, lol.

I pulled out some doilies from my stash and laid them in my sewn circles and started layering behind my photos. The papers were bright and fun and I loved the way it was coming together. I had already used all the embellishments that came with the kit so I had to make my own, so I pulled one paper that had pretty roses on it and another that had lip stick on it and started to fussy cut!

For my title, I pulled out a Dear Lizzy die cut word and added some cotton candy Spritz, then added it onto of my doily. Then tucked in a large lipstick for fun and a pretty flower.

I finished the layering behind the rest of the photos, cut down the white cardstock and added the light blue, blue striped paper to the background and was done.

I hope you play along this week with this sketch and make sure to share on instagram and tag Spieglemom_scraps in it!! We’d love to see what you create!! And remember when your checking out at Spieglemom Scraps, make sure to use code SARAH15 when you check out to get 15% off your purchase!

Sketch it out Saturday/Love you

Good morning everyone!! I hope your weekend is going good, we started out with some bad weather and LOTS of rain! But it looks way better today, so thats a plus!

Sarah here this morning to share with you a sketch from Pagemaps

that I used for my layout and our theme this month is the 80’s and 90’s, Now with this layout I used a color pallet to go with the theme. I remember when I was a kid, we always had this furniture that was tan, brown, yellow and little pops of other colors. So I found this collection by Crate paper in my stash and and thought that it matched perfectly with the sequin set, Just beachin it

Now when it came to the sketch I changed a few things, but not much. I had this picture of my hubby and our youngest and I loved the way the photo and frame were set up in the sketch that I loved, I know my picture was a bit bigger and the way the frame when on the picture it pulled more focus to that part and I loved that.

I I wanted a decorative circle where there was the pie type one on the layout, but I wanted it to be a bit more soft, so I added this cutfile. I backed some of the spaces on the cut file and left the center open because I knew I wanted to add the pretty sequins to the center.

I added more embellishments then the sketch showed, I wanted more flowers and butterflies so I layered them under the frame and on the frame, it added just a little more color and dimension.

I didn’t want a solid boarder around the side, So I took all of my scraps and added a tabs in here and there and a cork butterfly, placed them where I wanted around the side and then sewed them down. I went back and added more of the cute sequins around the layout and that was it.

Id love to see what you create with this sketch! And if youd like a bit of a discount when you go get you some goodies from Spieglemom make sure to use this code.

Sketch it out Saturday-Together

Good morning everyone! Sarah here this morning to share with you a new layout made with a 80’s-90’s theme.

So for me, I chose my sketch first to work with:

Like I said before, I have a ton of sketches pinned on Pinterest and this one comes from there to but it originally comes from DesignerDigitals.com

The first thing I thought of with this theme this month was a shirt I had when I was a kid. So I decided to head to my Silhouette and make a new cutfile for my background.

lol, I thought the cutfile fit  quite well with what my old shirt looked like, but I do remember my shirt being black and all the designs were filled in with different neon colors.

I thought the We R Memory Keepers, It Factor, to play with. I liked the neon colors and cool patterns. I backed my cut file and then started the layering behind the photo like it shows in the sketch.

I added a doily behind my photo and then added the teal strip and bright yellow. For my title I grabbed a gold frame, clipped it off and slid it under in center of my photo. I love this old goofy  picture of me and my sister, we were always together and since that was the first thing I thought when I saw this picture, I figured I’d use it as a title. I saw that the sketch had another strip of what looked like washi tape behind the photo, I grabbed my Dear Lizzy washi, it was a light teal with cool little squares on it, again I had a shirt like that when I was younger too, but I slid that washi behind the photo and then started add my pretty sequins and cork butterflies.

I pulled some little ephemera pieces from Pink Paislee-C’est La Vie collection and added the little label and for me I wanted a little more so I added a ticket on top of that. I wanted more embellishing then the sketch showed, So I added a nest of thread behind my cork butterflies then added sequins from Gotta Love Emojis and Wild&Free.

On the sketch it showed something wrapped around the photo, but I didn’t want to add that, So I didn’t. But I did like the look of the sewing around the layout, So I grabbed my sewing Machine and sewed a few wonky lines around my layout, then I decided I would add a little stitching to the bottom of my photo too. The sewing machine stitched so easily threw the cork butterflies and I loved the way it looked. The sequins I added matched this collection perfectly too!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and see what I made with this fun theme this month and I hope you come back to see what else we come up with!

Sketch it out Saturday/Zonked

Good morning everyone! Sarah here this morning to share with you another layout I made with some amazing sequins, felties and a bit of washi.

I picked another of the thousands of sketches I have pinned on Pinterest and played with it and I will share it with you, and I hope you’ll play along with me! The layout comes from https://denimtamponsblog.wordpress.com

I had this picture of one of my daughters, she was crashed out on the couch and I thought it was cute so I grabbed it to scrap. My background paper was from We R Memory keepers. I’m still experimenting with mixed media and I loved how this paper had the look of some water color on it already that I didnt have to do. But the sketch still had a messy circle behind everything, so I grabbed my Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Tinsel and did the packaging technique.

I pulled out my With all my heart collection from Pretty little studio and a frame from Simple stories and started playing. The sketch had a tag looking thing behind the photo, so I grabbed a tag from the collection I pulled, the tag wasn’t long enough for the photo so I layered a few other papers behind until I got it just how I wanted it.

I didn’t adhere anything down to the background at this point because I wanted to do a little stitching where it showed the film strip. I loaded my sewing machine with black thread and did my little stitching and was ready to start taping down my stuff. I started with my frame, then used some 3D foam adhesive to pop up my photo on a tag and adhered that down too.

The sketch had a little red strip at the bottom of the photo, I thought about using washi tape or a strip of paper, but decided I wanted a little more color. So I grabbed some of the labels from the Pretty little Studio collection and layered those under the photo. At this point I couldn’t find my white feltie clouds and was kinda freaking out, but as you see I found them!

Where it showed stars and other embellishments on the sketch I decided to used my pretty clouds. I layered a few on the frame and bottom right of the photo, then moved up to the tops right side of the frame. When I added the clouds around the frame I decided to add some washi tape as well. Then went back to adding fluffy clouds to my layout, those tiny little ones are just so cute! I added a big thread nest to the top left of the photo like on the sketch and  I just love using thread on my layouts!

Then came some more fun!! I grabbed several packages of sequins, Gotta love emojis, Holly Berries, Purple Rain and Magical Ocean and started to mix and match them and put them all over my layout! Magical Ocean had different sized stars that went perfect with this layout! I added a few work stickers and that was it for this layout!

Thanks so much for checking out what I made today and hope you come back and see what else we have for you to be inspired by!

Sketch it out Saturday/Sweet photograph

Good morning everyone!! Sarah here this morning to share my 1st layout for Spiegelmom Scraps and I’m excited about it!! I hope your Saturday is going well. Last night was a bit rough, we had some nasty weather come threw, but its bright and sunny this morning!

Ok so back to the layout I made, lol. I love to play with sketches! Sometimes I stick really close to them and then other times it ends up looking completely different then the sketch! And I love the fact that a sketch can jump start your creativity when your a bit stuck. This is the sketch I used for the layout I made today:

I found this layout on Pinterest, like I do a lot of my layouts, but it came from ScrapFriends.comAU, unfortunately there isn’t a link to the site anymore.

I grabbed an older WeR Memory Keepers paper pad from my stash called It Factor and pulled that stripped paper for the background. Then I reached into my DT pack and grabbed the pretty Shimmerz Texturez in The tide that binds and a stencil from my stash. Instead of checkers on my layout I wanted to use circles, I grabbed a little dabber I have and dipped it in to the texturez and started dabbing away at the bottom side of the page. I loved the way it looked so I added some to the top of my layout too.

I grabbed a few papers out of the paper pad and did a bit of layering behind my photo and added a tab that said love from a little bucket I have with lots of random pieces from random collections from the past, sitting on my desk. I wanted some flowers in on this layout, so I grabbed a pack of flowers that went with an older Maggie Holmes collection and popped one to the left side of my layout along with a cute little sticker from a Dear Lizzy collection. I had 2 collections of sequins that went perfect with this layout, the colors were a perfect match!! Gotta love Emojis and Jaded Hearts! Both collections are so beautiful and added the bling factor that I was wanting. Side note, lol, But I know how Traci Claiborne from the Scrap Gals is always talking about how they don’t like to splatter glimmer mist or other mists cause it cant be exact or might mess the layout up, Sequins are a perfect alternate to that!! I think at least lol, different sizes and you can place them where you want, without having to worry about messing anything up!

I added my title off to the right of my picture, those cute acetate words from Pink fresh studio and another leaf from the Maggie Holmes die cut pack. Then I moved to the top of my layout and started layering bits and pieces from the Pink Paislee Cest La Vie ephemera pack and a few more bits from the Maggie Homles ephemers pack. I added a flair button from an old Hip Kit kit and then went to adding more of those beautiful sequins!

I really hope you enjoyed this layout and would love to see you play along with the sketches and your pretty Spiegelmom Scraps stash too! Make sure to tag us on Instagram so we can see your creations!!

Fall Mini & LGSketchy Sketch with Rachel

Hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Time relaxing with family is such a gift, and I’m cherishing it! This post is picture heavy because I’m SO excited to share this fall mini album. Incorporated in my album is a full page using this week’s Let’s Get Sketchy sketch.

Target always has has smaller binders that fit 6×8 page protectors really well – and depending on the brand you purchase, you may only need to punch a few more holes. #minialbum #autumn #scrapbooking #papercrafting #shimmerz #sequins #spiegelmomscraps #LGSketchy #sketch #scrapchallenge #wermemorykeepers I got those gold glitter alphas and wood veneer leaves at Target too.. swoon. It looks perfect against that wood grain specialty paper I’ve been hoarding forever.#minialbum #autumn #scrapbooking #papercrafting #shimmerz #sequins #spiegelmomscraps #LGSketchy #sketch #scrapchallenge #wermemorykeepers

#minialbum #autumn #scrapbooking #papercrafting #shimmerz #sequins #spiegelmomscraps #LGSketchy #sketch #scrapchallenge #wermemorykeepers I’ve included lots of Crate Paper products in this mini – from old and new lines. Behind the “Give Thanks” title is a little Shimmerz Dazzlers in Coral Me Crazy. I love the added texture.dsc_0177

#minialbum #autumn #scrapbooking #papercrafting #shimmerz #sequins #spiegelmomscraps #LGSketchy #sketch #scrapchallenge #wermemorykeepers One of my favorite details in this mini is that shaker pocket filled with exclusive sequinsFalling Leaves.http://letsgetsketchy.blogspot.com/If you follow my layouts, you’ll notice that leaf looks familiar – I used lots of them here. They’re a beautiful mix of these Shimmerz products (1, 2, 3)#minialbum #autumn #scrapbooking #papercrafting #shimmerz #sequins #spiegelmomscraps #LGSketchy #sketch #scrapchallenge #wermemorykeepers I made a filler card with a stencil and Mari-Gold Digger texture paste and I love how it turned out. Aren’t those pictures I took of one of my besties fun!?#minialbum #autumn #scrapbooking #papercrafting #shimmerz #sequins #spiegelmomscraps #LGSketchy #sketch #scrapchallenge #wermemorykeepers It was so fun to work with a sketch created for a larger scale on a 6×8 layout! The title is Dear Lizzy and the scraps of paper are mostly from the Gather collection. The sequins I used on this page are an exclusive mix, Mocha Mint Dream. And I finished off with a cloud feltie.#minialbum #autumn #scrapbooking #papercrafting #shimmerz #sequins #spiegelmomscraps #LGSketchy #sketch #scrapchallenge #wermemorykeepers

I loved documenting these fall months in a mini, almost like a December Daily. Thanks for stopping in – I hope it’s inspired you to create!

Enjoy Life – Let’s Get Sketchy + SMS Team Up!

Hello!

Today I get to share my interpretation of this week’s sketch! You may have heard, we at SpiegelMom Scraps have teamed up with our friends over at Let’s Get Sketchy for the month of November. You can visit their site for the sketch or check it out here in the 15 minutes 2 Scrap Facebook group.#SpiegelMomScraps #exclusivesequins #lgsketchy #scrapbookingsketches #letsgetsketchy #scrapbooking #shimmerz #shimmerzpaints @shimmerzpaints @spiegelmom_scraps @wordsandpaperscraps @lgsketchyThe fun sketch Sara designed included butterflies and no matter how hard I try, I can’t figure out how to incorporate butterflies into my projects. Ugh! Strangely, I think it’s because I don’t have kids yet. So in place of those I’ve included some heart punches. My whole post was inspired by the gorgeous new sequin mix in the shop: 2 Cool 4 U. I absolutely love this mix! #SpiegelMomScraps #exclusivesequins #lgsketchy #scrapbookingsketches #letsgetsketchy #scrapbooking #shimmerz #shimmerzpaints @shimmerzpaints @spiegelmom_scraps @wordsandpaperscraps @lgsketchyAnd while many of the mixes in the shop coordinate well with popular lines – I’m on a crafting budget, so I’ve chosen to use some papers from my stash. I stitched my punched hearts onto some paper from the Dear Lizzy Saturday collection, backed against white cardstock. I then splattered some Shimmerz Vibez in Egg Noggin’ for a little shine. I layered this picture of my sweet German Shepherd onto some vellum and gold-foil polka dotted paper.

That triangle shaped shaker pocket full of sequins found its place stitched on the corner of my patterned paper. To make this: I first trimmed an extra page protector scrap into my desired triangle shape. I then used my Fuse Tool to seal the sequins in.

I used a few pieces of wood veneer on my page including a mini clothespin, We R Memory Keepers “Honey I’m Home” title piece, and a heart from my stash. #SpiegelMomScraps #exclusivesequins #lgsketchy #scrapbookingsketches #papercrafting #letsgetsketchy #scrapbooking #shimmerz #shimmerzpaints @shimmerzpaints @spiegelmom_scraps @wordsandpaperscraps @lgsketchyTo finish off my page I included a cloud feltie from the shop, and a brad from the Simple Stories “Posh” collection. I added my journaling and then I was done! Stay tuned this month for a new sketch every week!
