Creative Cards With Karla – Motivational Retro Card Set!

Hi there! Karla here today with a set of motivational cards to get you moving and excited about life! Since our theme here on the SMS blog this month is ‘Take Us Back June’ we’ve been thinking up lots of retro inspiration for you – and these cute workout animals from Pretty Cute Stamps wearing their adorable headbands totally brought me back to the ’20 Minute Workout’ videos of the 80’s! I’m pretty sure my sister and I wore our own headbands and bodysuits while we worked out in front of the TV ūüėČ I thought the sentiments included in the set were perfect to create a trio of cards that would be great to give to anyone who is working hard on something.

I recently found this fun retro paper pad at Michaels and thought the images would be awesome for this month’s theme! How cool is this cassette?! After I added layers of paper and some shiny washi tape on each card, I used a button and some of the wonderful Raspberry Burlap String¬†from the SpiegelMom Scraps shop as well as a cork star from the Shooting Cork Stars package.

I grabbed A Mermaid’s Tale, Morning Dew Drops, You Are My Sunshine, and What’s Up Buttercup sequin mixes to embellish my cards – I just love mixing and matching!!

I stamped these cuties on watercolor paper and used some Mermaid Markers from Jane Davenport and Prima Watercolor Pencils to colour them in while the kids were playing in the park. I had so much fun creating these, and I hope whoever receives them will feel like they can accomplish whatever they want!

Here’s a look at the inside of each card and the fun and motivational message that coordinates with the front! Of course I had to add some gorgeous sequins inside too!

Creative Cards With Karla – Watercolour Diamond Fold Card!

Hello friends! It’s Karla here today with a fun card folding technique to share with you – the Diamond Fold card! It’s a really easy fold that looks amazing, and anyone who receives it will totally love it!

@spiegelmomscraps @jodyspiegelhoff @colorburst @michaelsstores #sequins #cork #watercolor #diamondfoldcard #cardfoldingtechniques #papercrafting #cardmaking #spring #scrapbookingsupplies #butterflies #processvideo #youtube You can follow along with the folding instructions in the video HERE or click below.

I used some Color Burst powders to watercolour my papers, which came with a resist printed on them. The Color Bursts are so fun to work with – and it’s like a magic show every time you spritz them with water!! I used a pretty pink flower sequin from the Raspberry Daisy Dream sequin mix¬†¬†and stitched it onto my loopy ribbon bow with a clear bead in the center and then added some more pretty sequins from the Summer Sunset and Let’s Be Mermaids mixes.@spiegelmomscraps @jodyspiegelhoff @colorburst @michaelsstores #sequins #cork #watercolor #diamondfoldcard #cardfoldingtechniques #papercrafting #cardmaking #spring #scrapbookingsupplies #butterflies #processvideo #youtube

I used some Izink inks to colour the Cork Confetti Butterflies in to match the pretty colours on the card. I love how the texture of the cork shows through!

@spiegelmomscraps @jodyspiegelhoff @colorburst @michaelsstores #sequins #cork #watercolor #diamondfoldcard #cardfoldingtechniques #papercrafting #cardmaking #spring #scrapbookingsupplies #butterflies #processvideo #youtube

Here’s a look at the cork and sequins I used today, which you can find in the shop.

A bit of butterfly paper peeks out from the inside folds when the card is taken out of the envelope. I love that it tucks small enough to fit inside an envelope and then stands upright on it’s own! You can turn the card over and write a personalized message on the back for someone special.

Shaker Title Page

Shaker Pocket Title Page #spiegelmomscraps #createwithsms #shakerpocket #sequins #felicityjane #projectlife #sequins #pocketscrapbooking #scrapbooking #papercrafting @spiegelmom_scraps @felicityjanestudio @wordsandpaperscraps

Good morning!

If you’re reading this then you’ve made it to Wednesday – halfway through the week following a holiday weekend, which is always a struggle for me.

I’ve been having fun lately experimenting with different shaker pockets. I love the layering capabilities! Today I’m sharing a shaker pocket title page made with my trusty fuse tool. Projects like this are much easier if you have a heat proof mat with measurements – so you can get your fusing¬†centered.

Shaker Pocket Title Page #spiegelmomscraps #createwithsms #shakerpocket #sequins #felicityjane #projectlife #sequins #pocketscrapbooking #scrapbooking #papercrafting @spiegelmom_scraps @felicityjanestudio @wordsandpaperscraps

I love adding different sized page protectors in Project Life to make it a little more eclectic. I began by trimming my page protector to a 6×12 size. Working first on the rectangular inside pocket holding the “XOXO” I fused 3 sides, added the thicker, and fused the top. The fact that the title I chose was adhesive helped hold it in place. But if you’re going for a more whimsical look you could just add any cut file (or any ephemera for that matter!) I then added the sequins to the page protector. I chose to use¬†Strawberry Bubblegum – a perfect mix for spring! I think lighter sequins look best when layered over a layout – you could also try these or these. Lastly, I used my mini stapler to attach a white heart feltie and my shaker page was complete! SO easy.

Shaker Pocket Title Page #spiegelmomscraps #createwithsms #shakerpocket #sequins #felicityjane #projectlife #sequins #pocketscrapbooking #scrapbooking #papercrafting @spiegelmom_scraps @felicityjanestudio @wordsandpaperscraps

I wanted to keep the layout underneath fairly simple so both would be highlighted and not too busy. I used papers from Felicity Jane Studio and coordinating ephemera. I used a few embellishments from my stash including a white lace doily  and cork heart from the shop.

Notice that little bit of shine underneath my photo? You can brush on some Shimmerz  Paste-eez like this one for a little bit of bling.

I love putting my finished spreads in my album to admire how they turned out! I hope you’re inspired to do a little experimenting with shaker pockets

A Scraplift and A Farewell

Hello my fellow scrapbookers! Todays post is bitter sweet for me. I had so much fun creating this layout, but it is the last layout I will be making as a design team member for Jody’s amazing company.

I have absolutely LOVED working with the products in the SpiegelMom Scraps shop. Jody is amazing at making the perfect combination of sequins in her mixes. Before I became a member of the team I was an enamel dot lover and didn’t really understand what you could do with sequins. That’s kind of silly, right?!! They’re the same shape and size as enamel dots, why can’t you use sequins like them?! Well, YOU CAN! Hah! I quickly fell in love with sequins and it has become an item that I have to have on every layout or it doesn’t feel done. One of the things that I have been drawn to lately is “random piles” of sequins. I used to only use a few enamel dots in each cluster, but for some reason with sequins I have to have at least 5, if not a lot more, for the cluster to feel complete.

Anyway, I’m rambling, mostly because I am sad not to be continuing on, but I have realized in my life that I just need some time to scrapbook just for me and no one else. Without further ado, here’s my layout:

I just love it!! The photos and all the colors are just so bright and fun. I started this layout using the American Crafts White Textured Cardstock.

This is the layout I am scraplifting. It’s actually an art journal page by Irit Landgraf:

Isn’t it gorngeous?!! You can watch her process video here.

I think I’ve said this before, but I just LOVE these Corky Cumulous clouds from the shop!! They’re so adorable!

I used the Mint Chocolate Chip and Gun Metal Grey sequin mix in each of the clusters and a silver doily as well.

Like I was saying earlier, I really love the look of piling my sequins. Isn’t it just so pretty?!! I will do my journaling on this Large shipping tag to the left of the bottom photos.

You can watch my process video below:

Thanks so much for stopping by!! If you make a purchase in the store you can use my code, Megan15, through the month of April. I hope you have enjoyed my layouts throughout this last 9 months!

Scraplift Sunday with Crafty Meggy

Hello fellow SMS fans!! I hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday! I am so excited about this layout so I will just jump right in!!

I saw a recent layout by Victoria Marie on youtube and knew immediately that I just HAD to scraplift it! Don’t you just love all the inspiration we have these days between all the different social media we are a part of?!!!

Here is the layout that Victoria made:

Isn’t it just GORGEOUS?!!! I just love the simplicity of it! My layout didn’t turn out quite so simple, but I am in love with it!!

I decided to print off this photo of my newest nephew and me that my sister took last week when they came to visit. That is the thing I love about having my Canon Selphy, I can print out photos and use them immediately.

I made 3 clusters on this layout. Each one of them has Love you Tons Felties, Wolf Gery Heart Felties, Amy’s Sprinkles and Gun Metal Grey sequin mixes (Both of these mixes are sold out and being retired so they’re no longer available. Sorry about that!! BUT, you can find the other amazing sequin mixes here!)

I had a hard time finding a font in the right color that worked with the layout. In the end I went with this one and I love it!!

I used a Silver Foil Holiday Doily in a couple places on the layout. I really love how the silver stands out again the white textured American Crafts cardstock and that black polka dot paper.

And lawst but not least, I used the good old packaging technique on the background with a few Shimmerz paints, Well Blue Me Down Colorings, Before Dawn Vibez and No Yolking Coloringz.

Here’s my process video you can watch if you’d like a closer look at how I made the layout:

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to come by the shop and check out all the amazing products that Jody has! When you make a purchase you can use my code, Megan15, for 15% off your entire order!

Also, don’t forget that we are having a contest for our monthly blog hop. If you comment along on all of the design team blogs you will be entered to win a $10 shop credit! You can find that post here, with links to all of our blogs. You have until tomorrow to enter! Jody will announce the winner on April 5th.

Wish – A Spring Layout

12 x 12 Spring theme scrapbook layout #spiegelmomscraps #shimmerz #corkclouds #mixedmedia #shimelle #scrapbooking #papercrafting #sequins @shimmerzpaints @wordsandpaperscraps @spiegelmom_scraps

Happy Spring!

I don’t know about where you live but these last two days have felt like spring – we’ve had such a mild winter I think I’ve been in the spring mentality for a while now.

12 x 12 Spring theme scrapbook layout #spiegelmomscraps #shimmerz #corkclouds #mixedmedia #shimelle #scrapbooking #papercrafting #sequins @shimmerzpaints @wordsandpaperscraps @spiegelmom_scraps

When it comes to scrapping, I’ve really been working to rediscover freedom in what pictures I use. So far, I’ve done almost too well keeping up with Project Life – I sorta don’t have much to scrap that is super current. So, to make sure I’m still having fun and not letting creating become too regimented, I’m making a point to scrap¬†whatever just to play!

This is one of those projects. This picture was taken on a trip I led last summer to Colorado. It’s so fun! I had lots of products I wanted to use with it.

12 x 12 Spring theme scrapbook layout #spiegelmomscraps #shimmerz #corkclouds #mixedmedia #shimelle #scrapbooking #papercrafting #sequins @shimmerzpaints @wordsandpaperscraps @spiegelmom_scraps

The background is composed of lots of Shimmerz splatters –¬†with yellows and blues¬†(You could also use this one + this one) along with stitched sequins.¬†The stitched sequins are the one element I really had envisioned and wanted to build from.¬†My sequin mix of choice for this project is Rockin‘¬†Pink Ombre.¬†I really really love monochromatic sequin mixes.

12 x 12 Spring theme scrapbook layout #spiegelmomscraps #shimmerz #corkclouds #mixedmedia #shimelle #scrapbooking #papercrafting #sequins @shimmerzpaints @wordsandpaperscraps @spiegelmom_scraps

I also painted some Corky Cumulus clouds white and stitched them onto my page too.

12 x 12 Spring theme scrapbook layout #spiegelmomscraps #shimmerz #corkclouds #mixedmedia #shimelle #scrapbooking #papercrafting #sequins @shimmerzpaints @wordsandpaperscraps @spiegelmom_scraps

I wanted the paper layers I chose to be a nice complement to the embellishments without being too distracting – I used several products from the¬†Shimelle “Little by Little” collection along with a few Crate Paper things. I also had a “Wish” Thicker in my stash that went perfectly with this layout.

12 x 12 Spring theme scrapbook layout #spiegelmomscraps #shimmerz #corkclouds #mixedmedia #shimelle #scrapbooking #papercrafting #sequins @shimmerzpaints @wordsandpaperscraps @spiegelmom_scraps

I tied in the black with some black stamping and then I was done! I really love how light and airy this project feels – perfect for spring.

Thanks for stopping by!

Working with a Sketch

Hello Folks!

Laura here today with my version of a sketch…

I love working with sketches.¬† Sometimes I go off on a tangent and the finished layout looks nothing like the sketch, other times I use the sketch very literally.¬† This was a literal copy up to a point…

I got my ruler out and did a little maths to get my patterned paper sections exact.  I cut duplicate pieces in vellum so I could layer up with foam pads for added dimension and shadows.  They are very subtle layers but, I think, well worth it.

I stuck my glitter spot acetate down with 3d glue gel for even more dimension.  I only used the glue behind the glitter and one spot I knew I would be adding an embellishment.

When I had finished my literal copy I felt the bottom needed something extra so added some bunting.¬† I used some yellow baker’s twine to anchor my pennants.

When it came to embellishing I added some Salt of the Earth sequins and Shooting Cork Stars.  These stars are quickly becoming a favourite of mine.  They are small enough to add to most layouts without overtaking but still adding the gorgeous cork texture and colour.  They are also easy to alter with gesso or paint if you fancy the texture but not the colour!

Thanks for stopping by today,

Laura

Scraplift Sunday with Crafty Meggy

Hello SpiegelMom Scraps fans!! This is Megan and I am back with another Scraplift post! I am so excited about this one!! I was on facebook last week and I found an amazing layout in one of the scrappy facebook groups I’m a member of:

This layout was made by Amanda-Jayne Baldwin and I just absolutely LOVE the pretty heart that’s water colored in the background.

This is the layout I made and I love it too!!

I am so horrible at making up titles, but my fellow design team member, Khristina is amazing at them so I asked her for some help and this is what she came up with. I love it!

I had so much fun using all these hearts on my layout! I love the I Cork U hearts in the store. I had the wood veneer hearts in my stash, as well as the resin pink one. The heart flair I just purchase from one of our fun collab ladies back in February, KJKareen. I absolutely love her etsy shop!

I totally love this embellishment cluster area on the layout with this cute flair, the hearts and the fun sequins!! I used a couple different sequin mixes on this layout A Mermaid’s Tale and the new Pandora’s Ombre.

What About Wednesday: Mixed Media Layout

13932877_10210738580967273_2143640393516853298_n

Aloha!! It’s Hannah here today!!

How is your week going? My hubby had a 4 day weekend and that always throws my week off. But I thankfully got an extra day off to scrap all day. As much as the week is all crazy, I can never say no to an extra day of all day scrapbooking. I know I am lucky to have a spouse who kicks me to my scrap room.

Since I had all day to play I decided to play with some mixed media. I like to my time and really play. I used to use media a lot more than I do now, and when I pick up my paints it’s like riding a bike. I love the ride playing with mixed media takes me on.

I started with some clear gesso on white card stock. I wanted a little protection since I really didn’t know what I would end up using on the background. I like to go into my layouts open to whatever feels right. Sometimes this works well for me, sometimes it doesn’t turn out quite right. I am ok with this journey though. It helps me learn and grow as a crafter and scrapbooker.

I grabbed some acrylic paints and cup of water. Typically on a canvas you wouldn’t want to mix water and acrylic paint. The water effects the structure of the paint. On a canvas this could mean the paint could not adhere properly. I think in the case of paper though, water mixed with the acrylic paint it really helps it be more fluid, and dry quicker. I haven’t noticed that the water has affected my paint on the paper in the layouts I have made in the past. ( I say this as a warning, that any media that isn’t photo safe, could have an effect on the photo if you don’t use enough layers between the paint and the photo. Use your gut, with this info. If you feel weird and wrong for any unknown product and it’s ability to effect your photo, don’t do it. For me I make many of these layouts for my enjoyment and it doesn’t bother me. That is just me though.)

I used my paint brush to add drops of the watered down acrylic paint. I do this technique often. It is easy, and it’s hard to mess up. You can add as many or as few droplets to your page for the look you want. I like to mix big and small paint drops.

IMG_2973

This is an image I took while my paint was drying. ¬†I added each color. Then dried it for less than a minute with my heat tool. I then let it air dry for about 15 minutes. I added blue plus signs with a thin watercolor brush. I thought this would be fun. Seeing plus signs sticking out throughout the layout. I also added paint lines on the corners of the layout. To tell you the truth this is part I wish I would have left out. I wished I would have hand drawn lines with a black ink pen. But I didn’t and This is where you have to decide to keep going and see how the layout will turn out or stop and toss it. It really is a personal thing to choose. Some days I have been known to start pulling things off a layout in the middle of making it because I hated it. It again is part of this process of learning and growing and becoming the scrapbooker you want to be.

Once dry I started to build my layers. This is my favorite part. I love finding, searching for all these bits and pieces and fitting them in like a puzzle.

For this layout I used one 4×4 square photo. I really enjoy this size for building layers. I really try to switch things up and not use it all the time though, because it is easy for things to feel the same when I use this size all the time. Even though depending on the papers you layer each layout can look completely different.

IMG_3009

I love this photo of my puppy!! At the time of this picture (when I took it) she was about 5 or so months. So curious about everything I was doing in my scrap room. One day I was trying to take pictures of my layout with her inside. She wanted to be in on the action. I am so glad I took this image while trying to hold her in my legs to keep her away my layout. It really makes my smile. Having a small puppy can be so much fun, even though it really makes everything much more difficult to get done. Haha!!

While building my layers I grabbed papers I thought would match the photo and papers that I had laying around. I love mixing sizes and fitting them in around.

IMG_3004

I added a white doily and a medium shipping tag in my layers. I love the texture they add. Also the shapes are much different than the strips of patterned paper which works really well the pull everything in, but make it unique.

IMG_3005

I tucked die cuts in my layers too. This is the fun part of layering, finding pieces that are odd and  making them fit. Sometimes all it is a color that works. Like this die cut.. Hello.

IMG_3007

The color worked and I love how it just fits.

I added some grey feltie hearts on this layout. They are my favorite!! Literally they are amazing. Paired with some white thread and a flair badge from The Spiegel Mom Scraps collab with Accent Scrapbooking. I love how the green in you is picked up by the strip of green paper I used.

I scattered some Holly Berries Sequins around the whole layout. I really like how this holiday inspired mix works because of it’s nature feel.

IMG_3006

Especially with these wood pieces that I picked up in the clearance part of the shop.

IMG_3003

I really played up on the fun and silliness of the photo with this layout. I really like when the tone of the photo matches with the layout.

IMG_3011

I love using stickers for titles especially when I mix that with Thickers. These white ones are so puffy and fun.

IMG_3001

Here is the whole layout.

Scraplift Sunday with Crafty Meggy

Scraplift Sunday

Hello again my SMS friends! I am back on this wonderful Sunday with another Scraplift layout to share with you.

I just want to say I really love scraplifting layouts!! I often try to change the layout and make it my own and with this one I definitely made sure to do that! This is the layout I found on pinterest:

feb1scraplift

Isn’t it just gorgeous?!! I absolutely fell in love with all the mixed media in the background! She even has a companion layout called ‘SHE’. Make sure to go on over to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog to check it out! I was just blown away.

feb19scraplift1footer

This is my layout. I am really happy with how it turned out!! I used the American Crafts white textured cardstock for the background with some gesso. To get the background mist I sprayed in 4 spots and added water. I used Heidi Ho Blue, No Yolking and Before Dawn.

feb19scraplift2

I used the 2 Cool 4 U sequin mix from the shop as well as the Clique Kits December 2016 embellishment pack and flair badge. I decided that this was going to be the title for my layout.

feb19scraplift3

I made a little cluster in the bottom left hand corner with the journaling. This spot worked out perfect!

feb19scraplift4

Here’s another view of this title cluster. I really had a lot of fun with this layout!

feb19scraplift5

I hope that you enjoy looking at this layout! You can watch the process video below or here on my YouTube channel:

Scraplift Sunday with Crafty Meggy

Scraplift Sunday

Hello my fellow SMS lovers!! I hope you’re having a great weekend! It’s always so sad when it comes to an end, but I really do love having my laid back Sundays.

I have another Scraplift for you today. I love going through my Scrapliftable board on pinterest, but this past week I was actually on pinterest for a different project and I found this layout:

feb5Scraplift

I really love the 3 patterned papers in the background and I thought doing something like that would look good with a cut file on top of it.

Hey Honey

This is the free cut file for the month of february. You can get it here in the cut file section of the blog or click the image.

feb5scraplift1footer

This is the layout I ended up making. I am super happy with how it turned out!!

feb5scraplift2

This year I have decided to really take my weight loss up a gear. It’s always a goal of mine to lose weight every year, but I usually give up after a couple weeks. I started going to the gym again a couple weeks into January and I took a few photos of the first workout. It was a slow one, but I am really proud of myself for sticking with it and going! These photos document before, during and after my workout.

feb5scraplift3

I really love the new I Cork U and Love U Tons felties hearts in the shop. I layered them here in this cluster on top of a white lace doily and also used the Strawberry Bubblegum sequin mix.

feb5scraplift4

I used an older Dear Lizzy thickers alpha and put a cute little heart sequin to dot each of the i’s.

feb5scraplift5

I put my journaling and another cluster in the bottom right hand corner.

feb5scraplift6

I used a couple yellow sequins from the Pocket Full of Posies mix, as well as a mini glassine bag, 2 large manila tags and raspberry May arts string.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! You can watch my process video below on my YouTube channel. Make sure to use my code, Megan15, at checkout to receive 15% off your total order! Happy Scrapping!

Hello Scrapbook friends! ¬†Welcome to the SpiegelMom Scraps blog and its already February. ¬†My favorite month of the year because I simply love anything Valentine’s Day. ¬†From the colors of pink and red for everything to the heart shaped designed on many products. ¬†I have heart eyes for all scrapbook related Valentine products. ¬†Today, I am scrapping a recent picture of me with the Valentine leggings from LuLaRoe.

IMG_9094

I started with white card stock and layered the black scribbled heart patterned paper from last years Hello Love collection from Crate Paper with a special piece of acetate with pink glittered polka dots.  I edged the papers with red card stock and a tiny heart paper.

IMG_9095

I used the tags from the Crate Paper collection as well and arranged them staggered for added interest.  I used the Rockin Pink Ombre sequin pack with is one of the new releases.  I also used two sizes of confetti cork hearts available in the shop for added contrast.

IMG_9089

We have swapped product this month with Accent Scrapbook and added two flat back flair buttons to this layout. ¬†The pink one reads ‘Happy Moments’ and the yellow one says ‘Funny Moments’.

So Loved – Early Valentine’s Post

#cratepaper #spiegelmomscraps #sequins #shimmerzpaints #mixedmedia #stitching #americancrafts #createwithsms #feltie #vellum #scrapbooking #papercrafting #valentinesDIY

Hey Friends!

You can probably tell by my layouts that I don’t have kids yet.. they generally only feature my husband and my dogs. I was inspired by this cozy picture of my husband and I to create a sweet layout just a few weeks early. Not to mention, there was a new sequin mix that I had fun plans for.

#cratepaper #spiegelmomscraps #sequins #shimmerzpaints #mixedmedia #stitching #americancrafts #createwithsms #feltie #vellum #scrapbooking #papercrafting #valentinesDIY

I knew I wanted to use strips of paper in combination with some paint streaks to create a vertical backdrop for my picture. I used a thick brush to paint the yellow and teal stripes. Once they dried, I chose the patterned paper + vellum I wanted to use too. I went with that bold paper from¬†Dear Lizzy’s Saturday collection and paired it with some smaller patterned paper from my stash.

#cratepaper #spiegelmomscraps #sequins #shimmerzpaints #mixedmedia #stitching #americancrafts #createwithsms #feltie #vellum #scrapbooking #papercrafting #valentinesDIY

Once I had my paper in place I determined where I wanted my stitched sequin lines to go. This accent was my vision behind the entire layout! I used sequins from the shop (here + here). You can use this technique with any sequins as long as you adhere them down first. I think stitching over sequins creates a great finished look.

#cratepaper #spiegelmomscraps #sequins #shimmerzpaints #mixedmedia #stitching #americancrafts #createwithsms #feltie #vellum #scrapbooking #papercrafting #valentinesDIY

Once I had done this, I matted my picture on white and began playing around with my placement. I knew I wanted my picture to pop well and all of my embellishments to carry the vertical trend. Most embellishments are AC thickers

#dearlizzy #spiegelmomscraps #sequins #shimmerzpaints #mixedmedia #stitching #americancrafts #createwithsms #feltie #vellum #scrapbooking #papercrafting #valentinesDIY

I combined some alphas with “loved” to create my title and added a few white heart felties. I wanted to balance out the bright colors of the background with something more subtle.

I really love how this project turned out! I’m so happy with my decision to use a 9 x 12 project life album so 12 x 12 papers can easily be cut down and¬†used for layouts like these. I hope you’ll try stitching some sequins. Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. You don’t want to miss our HUGE product swap blog hop tomorrow!

I really loved this cut file and new I just had to used it on an artsy layout. I wanted to do something different with it besides backing it with patterned paper so I decided to pull out my Shimmerz Sprays.

I started out by spraying my Shimmerz Paints mists on the cut file. The colors I used were Well Blue Me Down Coloringz, Snow Way Man Vibez, No Yolking Coloringz, Bed of Roses Spritz, and Moody Mauve Coloringz.

In this little cluster I used some chipboard, wood veneer and a button from Paige Evans’ Take me away collection as well as the new 2 Cool 4 U sequin mix from the shop.

I made a little sequin pocket with a mini glassine bag.

I used the top part of the glassine bag in this top right corner for a 3rd cluster with some of the sequins.

I had so much fun layering papers from a few different collections behind the photo.

Scraplift Sunday with Crafty Meggy

Scraplift Sunday

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you’re having a great weekend! I am excited to share this layout with you because I had so much fun making it! I was on YouTube this past week and I found a new channel to subscribe to and I have fallen in love with her videos and her style. You can find her channel here (Paper Sweetpea). I watched a layout she posted a few weeks ago and fell in love immediately and KNEW I had to scraplift it for this weeks assignment!

Isn’t it just gorgeous?!!!

When I sat down to make this layout I knew almost right off that I wanted to use Dazzlers and Texturez paints from Shimmerz. I really love how the background turned out!! I went with the colors Foiled Again and Teal Me No Lies. I LOVE it!

My husband and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary on January 3rd and we were able to go out to dinner and a movie. It was so fun! One of my goals this year is to scrapbook more current photos so I picked this one to highlight our night.

SweetPeaScraplift6

I used this ‘love’ word thicker from the Fancy Free thicker set, I believe. It was originally silver, but it didn’t match the rest of the title so I painted it black with the Licorice Stick Dazzlerz you can get in the store.

SweetPeaScraplift7

I have a few more thicker phrases from an Amy Tan collection, I don’t remember which one, but I thought they would be perfect to make a unique title.

Here’s another view of the title and photo with all the layers. One of the things I really LOVED about the scraplift layout was the layers she put behind the photos. I had fun playing around with a bunch of scraps in my stash.

SweetPeaScraplift10

I used the Gold Confetti and 2 Cool 4 U sequin mixes, as well as the Cloudy Day Felties and a Chunky Cork Star in this little cluster.

In the top left hand corner I used a few tags with the sequins and a cute little grey heart from the Heart Felties pack.
