Scrappy Saturday- I love this girl

Hello everyone!!

How excited are you that Christmas is only a few days away!!! My kiddos are so excited! lol Anyways…. This week I’m scraplifting the awesome Missy Whidden!

This is the layout of Missys that I decided to scraplift. I wanted to go a different way since I’ve been on a roll of scrapping circles lol. So I chose a grid. I will say that I did a lose scraplift of this layout lol.

I loved the Birthdays&Balloons sequin mix and Crate papers Cute Girl collection went great with it! I had already picked out my pictures of my niece, shes so pretty, but I swipped her snapchat pics to scrap lol.

I started my layout by pulling out some of my shimmerz that matched the colors in the sequins and in the paper collection and using the packaging technique  around my layout like Missy had.  Once I had the colors where I wanted them and let them dry, I added the machine stitching like she had.

I kept my grid loser then Missy did, but I knew I wanted it to cover more of the page, I was trying not to have so much white space. But after knowing where I wanted my pictures, I started my paper layering in the other two spaces and then behind my photos too.

I went in as I was adding the layers and added some little thread nests for some more texture and because Missy had added them.

After adding little puffy stickers here and there and the thread nests, I moved on to adding all the pretty shinies! Birthdays & Balloons sequin mix has so many colors and the shine on some of them are just different. I’m guessing its because some of them are see threw and some aren’t, but I love the different shines they give!

Thanks so much for checking out this layout, and make sure to check out all the great layouts that all the other Sparklers made too and make sure to check out what Missy has made too!

Trendy Tuesday- Celebrate

Good morning everyone!! Sarah here this morning with a new layout with a birthday theme. As you’ve probably noticed, this is birthday week! And were to scrap something we don’t normally scrap birthday wise.

So this week I scrapbooked my 31st birthday. I don’t normally scrap my birthdays, maybe the big years, milestones, but that’s about it. So here it is.

I have had a bunch of this Crate Paper Confetti collection in my stash and decided to use it since there are so many different sequin packs that match it!!

I started off by layering some of the papers and an ephemera piece behind the photo and adding a glittery star and a cute little now. I figured it’s a layout about my birthday, so why not!?

I’m not big on journaling where others can see it,especially when it’s about personal things, so I grabbed those little pockets and adheared it down, grabbed two of the tags from the ephemera pack and did a little journaling, slid them in and started adding a 3d cupcake and a cute little stacked pin.then I saw that cute balloon and decided, why not, it’s too cute!

I added my photo and it’s mats to the right of the little pocket and then moved to the bottom of the layout. I grabbed that chipboard banner and added it. I had those cute tassels in my stash and popped it behind the pinwheel and added that in the middle of the banner.

I wanted something to the far right of my layout, so I added two strips to the side and it brought a little color to my layout.

I broke in to my major stash of speigelmom sequins and started to play! I used three different collection, black tie event, Ferris Wheel, and Girly Glitter. The colors in these matched perfect to this collection and I love the bling that they add to the layout!

Thanks for coming and checking out my layout this week and make sure to check out all the great projects by the rest of the team, there on youtube, Instagram, here and on facebook!!

Trendy Tuesday/My girl

Good morning everyone!!! I hope your having an amazing 4th of July with your friends and family!! Sarah here this morning with my 1st trendy Tuesday post and as you  have probably heard this weeks theme is emojis!!!

I love emojis, they are just so cute! And my kids know what they are and love to draw them and the oder ones sending me different ones on their phones lol.

I chose to use the Crate paper line, Cute girl for my layout this week. I love all the girly little things you can do with this collection, but with the way I did this layout there wasn’t a lot of room for embellishing.

I went with a quite large emoji for my layout because I knew I wanted to make it itself a shaker pocket. I used one of the cut-files offered from SpiegleMomScraps this month, This is just one of the emojis that there are in the cut-file,But my emoji is how I started my page, other then having my photo already picked out, lol.

In my stash I have a bunch of stuff but I have like 3 boxes of clear sheets that were for over head projectors, I dont even know if they use those anymore, lol, but I have a bunch of them. So I cut my emoji out on my Silhouette and placed 2 behind the outer part and started sewing it on my sewing machine. I left a place open big enough for me to pour my Gotta Love Emojis sequin pack is and then finished sewing it up. I placed it on my page where I wanted it to the left because in the picture my daughter was looking in from the right.

After my big smiling emoji was down, I added a few strips of paper to the bottom of my layout and then went to layering papers behind my photo. I put my photo down and pulled out my embellishment pack, along with some of the sticker sheets and started to play a little. I have always loved that little doll from this collection and I thought this was a great layout to use it on! So I added her to the right side of my photo and then layered a few puffy flower stickers and some little hearts. I popped my title under the picture. Then I decided to add a few little banner pieces  and a few hearts to the top left of my layout and a few little word stickers  and more little hearts to the bottom left and was done.

I hope you enjoyed the layout I made today, I loved playing with the emojis and I hope you play along too!! Happy 4th to everyone again!!

Retro Canvas Tutorial with Karla!

Hello friends! Karla here again today to share a tutorial with you, showing you how I created this pretty canvas. Just by following a few easy steps you can quickly create a beautiful canvas for yourself or a gift for someone special! Since our theme this month is ‘Take Us Back June’ I thought this Prima paper doll stamp by Julie Nutting would be perfect, combined with the vintage 7gypsies Architextures papers and Prima armoire tag. I’ve created a little tutorial, so you can see just how easy it is to create a canvas  yourself! @jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @prima @julienutting @canvascorpbrands @7gypsies@modpodge @tatteredangels #mixedmedia #canvas #tutorial #glimmerglam #spiegelmomscraps #sequins #cork #retro #vintage #paperdolls #julienutting #prima #rubons #scrapbook #papercrafting #crafty #modpodge

Step 1- I used a Dollar Store canvas and chose a few pieces of paper – these are from the 7gypsies Architextures paper pad – love <3! I cut and tore them to fit on my canvas.

@jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @prima @julienutting @canvascorpbrands @7gypsies@modpodge @tatteredangels #mixedmedia #canvas #tutorial #glimmerglam #spiegelmomscraps #sequins #cork #retro #vintage #paperdolls #julienutting #prima #rubons #scrapbook #papercrafting #crafty #modpodge

Step 2 – I painted the edges of my canvas with Tattered Angels High Impact light blue paint, stamped and coloured my Prima doll, paper pieced her clothing and cut out some paper elements (banners) from the 7gypsies paper pad. Ok, how cool are her boots – really?!!

@jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @prima @julienutting @canvascorpbrands @7gypsies@modpodge @tatteredangels #mixedmedia #canvas #tutorial #glimmerglam #spiegelmomscraps #sequins #cork #retro #vintage #paperdolls #julienutting #prima #rubons #scrapbook #papercrafting #crafty #modpodge

Step 3 – I used Mod Podge to glue on the paper elements and the Prima armoire tag by painting a coat of the Mod Podge, laying on the papers, and painting another coat on top. I glued the doll’s clothing on and used Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam to paint the Julie Nutting paper doll chipboard pieces. The Glimmer Glam gives such a high sheen with pieces of glitter – it’s really neat!

@jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @prima @julienutting @canvascorpbrands @7gypsies@modpodge @tatteredangels #mixedmedia #canvas #tutorial #glimmerglam #spiegelmomscraps #sequins #cork #retro #vintage #paperdolls #julienutting #prima #rubons #scrapbook #papercrafting #crafty #modpodge

Step 4 – I used a clear gel medium through a Tim Holtz stencil and then added Ranger Distress Glitter on while it was still wet so the glitter stuck to the gel. I also added some very cool 7gypsies Architextures rubons around my canvas to give a vintage, distressed stamped look. I glued on a couple more paper elements – these records came in a Retro paper pack from Michaels!

@jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @prima @julienutting @canvascorpbrands @7gypsies@modpodge @tatteredangels #mixedmedia #canvas #tutorial #glimmerglam #spiegelmomscraps #sequins #cork #retro #vintage #paperdolls #julienutting #prima #rubons #scrapbook #papercrafting #crafty #modpodge

Step 5 – I added my paper doll, chipboard pieces and SpiegelMom Scraps Chunky Cork Heart – which I painted gold with the Glimmer Glam. I hot glued a black velvet ribbon around the edge of the canvas to cover any staples that might show. Now comes the FUN part!! Digging through all my sequins to see which ones I want to use 🙂 I decided to go with Jaded Hearts, Fairy Garden, Neon Summer, Sparkle Power and Free Spirit sequin mixes! They are all so pretty!!

@jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @prima @julienutting @canvascorpbrands @7gypsies@modpodge @tatteredangels #mixedmedia #canvas #tutorial #glimmerglam #spiegelmomscraps #sequins #cork #retro #vintage #paperdolls #julienutting #prima #rubons #scrapbook #papercrafting #crafty #modpodge

I used some of the flowers from a couple different mixes to add to the brim of her hat, using Glossy Accents to adhere them. Next, I grabbed some of the beautiful gold sequins in Free Spirit to add around the picture frame. The message inside is an Architextures rubon, and I covered it with Glossy Accents to give it a glassy look.

@jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @prima @julienutting @canvascorpbrands @7gypsies@modpodge @tatteredangels #mixedmedia #canvas #tutorial #glimmerglam #spiegelmomscraps #sequins #cork #retro #vintage #paperdolls #julienutting #prima #rubons #scrapbook #papercrafting #crafty #modpodge

The pretty flowers from Fairy Garden worked great to add as drawer pulls on the side table.

@jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @prima @julienutting @canvascorpbrands @7gypsies@modpodge @tatteredangels #mixedmedia #canvas #tutorial #glimmerglam #spiegelmomscraps #sequins #cork #retro #vintage #paperdolls #julienutting #prima #rubons #scrapbook #papercrafting #crafty #modpodge

I tucked a cool camera in with the records and added some sequins to the drawers of the armoire.

@jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @prima @julienutting @canvascorpbrands @7gypsies@modpodge @tatteredangels #mixedmedia #canvas #tutorial #glimmerglam #spiegelmomscraps #sequins #cork #retro #vintage #paperdolls #julienutting #prima #rubons #scrapbook #papercrafting #crafty #modpodge

I love the way the gold shines on the Chunky Cork Heart! A few more sequin clusters around the canvas give it just a bit more bling!

@jodyspiegelhoff @spiegelmomscraps @prima @julienutting @canvascorpbrands @7gypsies@modpodge @tatteredangels #mixedmedia #canvas #tutorial #glimmerglam #spiegelmomscraps #sequins #cork #retro #vintage #paperdolls #julienutting #prima #rubons #scrapbook #papercrafting #crafty #modpodge

Make It Yours Monday- Warm & Cozy at the Patch

make it yours monday

Happy Monday ( I know, lol) and welcome back for another Make It Yours Monday! For November, we are doing what we are calling a Sketch Swap. And, we are teaming up with Let’s Get Sketchy!!! (http://letsgetsketchy.blogspot.com/…) We are so excited for this team up!!! This first week, we are using a sketch from our very own Sarah Scraps!!!  I hope you will join us and play along!

11-7-f

For my layout, I decided to use our theme this month, Warm and Cozy. I was instantly drawn to the photo of my Mia in her crochet pumpkin hat!

mia-ph

I started by using my Dreamscicle Dazzlerz through my Tim Holtz Pumpkin stencil across the middle third of my page. Then, I splattered some gold Color Shine and set it all aside to dry.

14962592_10210823396641948_2428215889408679506_n

I then turned my focus to my photo cluster. The Simple Stories Pumpkin Spice collection was on my desk, so I chose some of the papers to use in my cluster. I added a piece of vellum to the bottom layer to give a soft break between the photo cluster and the background stenciling. I added my 4×4 photo and added some foam tape to the back.

14991973_10210823394161886_3351270123954589290_n

In order to get my Doilies to match my layout, I misted them with Mandarin Mai Tai Coloringz and a layer of gold Color Shine. They were the perfect colors to compliment the papers in the photo cluster! I adhered them to the back of the photo and by now, the texture paste was dry, so I placed the photo and layers to the layout.

14937258_10210823396161936_7800655217756173465_n

A 2″ strip of the Pumpkin pattern paper to the right side was a fun way to keep the pumpkins going and some shapes from the Icon sticker sheet were great touches to put around the layout, as well as some of the tiny word stickers. The alpha’s wound up being a great color to compliment everything, so Warm & Cozy were spelled using the warm Rusty colored ones.

14937429_10210823395481919_4532842687519786875_n

The Newly Released 2 Cool 4 U sequins and Cozy mix both had great colors to finish off my page. From the 2 Cool 4 U mix, I pulled out the Blacks, Peachy Oranges, and yellows while the Cozy mix had a perfect shade of Red and light blue to go along with the papers and my photo. They lend a great pop of color and wonderful sparkle to keep your eyes moving around the layout.

A banner from the ephemera pack in the top left corner and my journaling added under the stenciling and I was done. And, I LOVE it

Use them to draw inspiration, and add your own twist, Make it Yours! Today, I used pumpkins instead of the butterflies, but kept to the main structure of the sketch.

Monday Blog Header

Welcome back to another Make It Yours Monday with SpiegelMom Scraps!!! I hope you guys enjoyed the amazingly awesome Triple Blog Hop and all the incredible projects that were shared!

Today, I have a layout inspired by a heart shaped tag from my daughters new sneakers and a layout that I found on pinterest. I wanted to combine the 2 and was very happy with the finished page! (I want to apologize for the lighting of my photo’s, but a tropical storm stole the sun and I had to take them inside!)

94 Collage

The only Patterned paper I used for this layout was from the Fancy Free collection. I used the soft mint for the foundation, the peachy pink for the mid section and a bit of yellow, mint and peach to make the banners in the top right corner. I added some gold scallop washi tape to secure the banners. After I notched out a half circle, I added my journaling on a shipping tag and tucked it behind the layout in a pocket.

9 4 blog post 3

For the mid section of the layout, I made a shaker tag out of another shipping tag and filled it with Spring Blooms Sequins and Gold Confetti Sequins. I added some doodles to the boarder to keep it from getting lost. I adhered a White Doily doily and layered the shaker tag and my photo over top.

9 4 details

A journaling card serves as my title and a few more doodles pulled the shaker, journaling and the title card together. I sprinkled some of the sequins around the page to bring some sparkle around each section! The scalloped washi tape finished off the middle part and I also brought a piece to the bottom left corner to dress is up a bit, along with some sequins. A few splatters of Gold Color Shine and I was Done!

Unforgettable – August Challenge

#SpiegelMomScraps #sequins #Augustchallenge #mixedmedia #Shimmerz #dazzlers #basicgrey #bucketlist #papercrafting #scrapbooking @spiegelmom_scraps @wordsandpaperscraps @shimmerzpaints

I’m SO thankful I managed to squeeze in some scrapping inspired by this month’s challenge before August ended (WOW it has flown by).  Thank you, Lisa for the inspiration. I realized after it was too late that I forgot one portion of the recipe – the doily. In case you missed it:

#SpiegelMomScraps #sequins #Augustchallenge #mixedmedia #Shimmerz #dazzlers #basicgrey #bucketlist #papercrafting #scrapbooking @spiegelmom_scraps @wordsandpaperscraps @shimmerzpaints #SpiegelMomScraps #sequins #Augustchallenge #mixedmedia #Shimmerz #dazzlers #basicgrey #bucketlist #papercrafting #scrapbooking @spiegelmom_scraps @wordsandpaperscraps @shimmerzpaints

3 embellishments – doily, sequins, banner, 2 colors from the mood board, 1 sketch

My husband and I keep a journal with a running list of all the things we want to do. Of all the things, traveling some place where we can see the Northern Lights is at the very top. I thought it would be perfect to scrap this for this month’s Bucket List Challenge.

I started with some amazing constellation inspired paper by Basic Grey (an older collection) and used a speckled stencil in combination with my Shimmerz Dazzlers texture paste in Spun Sugar. It resembled a perfect smattering of stars..swoon. I layered some sequins over top to of the texture paste to draw the eye in. I then added a few pink and blue paper scraps and some vellum + star patterned acetate paper. I really couldn’t get enough of the stars for this layout!

#SpiegelMomScraps #sequins #Augustchallenge #mixedmedia #Shimmerz #dazzlers #basicgrey #bucketlist #papercrafting #scrapbooking @spiegelmom_scraps @wordsandpaperscraps @shimmerzpaints

I used my Silhouette Cameo for the first part of my title, and combined it with a Project Life card. For some reason I forget to utilize my Cameo – but I love the versatility it provides titles. The banner was made by threading some light pink string through punches from a glassine bag and a few sequins from the Shop. The mix I used, Wedding Bells went perfectly with this mood board inspired layout.

#SpiegelMomScraps #sequins #Augustchallenge #mixedmedia #Shimmerz #dazzlers #basicgrey #bucketlist #papercrafting #scrapbooking @spiegelmom_scraps @wordsandpaperscraps @shimmerzpaints

I finished this layout off with a few Heidi Swapp puffy stickers and stitched-on acetate stars. Oh, and of course a handful of sprinkled sequins. I really believe sequins have a place on every craft project ever.

#SpiegelMomScraps #sequins #Augustchallenge #mixedmedia #Shimmerz #dazzlers #basicgrey #bucketlist #papercrafting #scrapbooking @spiegelmom_scraps @wordsandpaperscraps @shimmerzpaints

Thanks for checking out my latest project! Hopefully one day I’ll have a chance to scrap my own pictures of the Northern Lights. Does anyone have a view of this gorgeous phenomenon from their home?

Make It Yours Monday!

13709841_10210497037008825_1129990812674950358_n

Hello everybody, I’m Lisa and today I have my first layout here as a Design Team Member, A Sparkler! To say I’m excited would be an understatement!!! I’m so thrilled to be working with this great group of ladies and for such a great shop!

Every Monday I’ll be bringing you a new layout for “Make It Yours Monday” What I want to show you is how to pull inspiration and ideas for your layouts from ANYTHING! Take a look around you and be inspired by a color, a texture, a graphic, a pattern. Anything that catches your eye!

For Today’s layout, I was inspired by nothing else but… The SpiegelMom Scraps Logo!!!

SMS Logo

I was drawn to the colors and the circles with the texture in it. So to start, I sketched large circles on a 12×12 piece of American Crafts white cardstock. I used a back stitch to create the circles and added just the pink sequins from the Spring Blooms mix every few stitches to give it a similar look. I also added some teal rhinestones and wood veneer to the circles for added interest. White doilies layered behind my photo added some texture.

8 8 16 details 2

In the top left corner, I added another doily and some banners. I used a piece of washi to hold them down and added some more pink sequins from the circle as well as another star and rhinestone

8 8 16 details 1

To continue the texture and colors around the page, I also brought the washi, stars, sequins and a rhinestone to the bottom right corner.

8 8 16 details 3

I am Thrilled with how this came out! I hope you enjoyed this layout and don’t forget to look around, inspiration could come from anywhere!!!

Now for my two page spread!  I haven’t done a two page layout in like FOREVER and I was definitely missing them.  This month I wanted to mix it up a little bit and do a traditional 12×12 on one side a Project Life style on the other side.  I’m really happy with how it turned out and will probably continue to do more of these.  Here is what it looks like side by side.

spiegelhoff_feb15

And here’s the right side, a 12×12 traditional layout.  Besides my Punxsutawney Kit, I added a few of the cork embellishments from our sold out We Go Together Kit, which was fabulous!!  I think cork is a great accent and works with so many papers and themes.  I love the colors and tones in the Serendipity papers, especially when you mix the contrasting ones together and layers.

side 1

007002

And here’s the Project Life side!  I’m using one of the pages in the the Big Variety Pack, Style 3 for this side of my spread.  As you can see, I created a fun sequin shaker pocket at the top right.  To seal the top of that opening, I simply ran a thin line of glue at the top edge and allowed it to dry.  The glue itself does dry clear, but I could still see the glue.  Knowing myself, I’m probably the only one in my family who would notice it!  Nonetheless, I added some washi tape from my stash along the top edge to cover it up.

Abby turned 3 last November and she’s getting to be such a little girl and less baby.  Insert tear here!  We have an absolute blast together on my days off when her sisters are in school. It’s just Mama & Abby, perfect!

I hope I’ve inspired you to give Project Life, or partial Project Life, a try!  This feels like a good fit for me and I’ll be sharing more like this in the future!

SN@P 2 It! Fast layouts

SN@P, do you SN@P?  Simple Stories SN@P, that is. At first, I wasn’t too sure about the small pocket pages, but this line is fantastic!!  Not only can you create great 6×8″ scrapbook incorporating lots of pictures and memorabilia, but you can use these same elements on your scrapbook layouts too.  Yes, it’s true! And, it’s fast.  See…

185

This layout came together in less that 30 minutes! I’m totally serious here.  I just cut the diagonal stripe to 6×8″ and placed is off center in the 12×12″ base.  I tilted my 4×4″ Instagram picture and off set it within the 6×8″ piece.  You can see that I punched some clouds with my trusty Fiskars Cloud Punch (I have 3 sizes).  I cut apart a 3×5 bingo card and placed on the top and bottom of the photo, added some SN@P Stickers and Flair Badges, spattered some inks, stuck on some washi and added my overlay for the title.  Don’t be scared of these transparency overlays!! They’re awesome to use. You can layer them, just like I did below.  GOOD. TO. GO!

188

This one came together in about 40 minutes, but only because I was being a putz, LOL… Any-hoo, I used one 4×4″ and two 3×3″ Instagram photos here.  I trimmed one of the SN@P border stripe papers to include the sections I wanted, then built my layout up from there.  I adhered my photos and tucked some of the polaroid cards behind them, along with more transparencies.  These SN@P border & element stickers are so fun!!  There are so many shapes and fun sayings that you’ll have something for lots of your projects.

555 (2) 558 (2) 556 (2)

So, that’s how I SN@P friends!  These layouts are also featured in the Spring 2013 Memory Works Look Book, available for download for FREE ~ HERE!!   I’m also working on a SN@P 6×8″ album so I’ll be sharing that soon!  Until then, happy scrappin’!!

Extra Special Teacher’s Gift~a Baby Mini Book

Happy June and to the end of this school year!  Ok, some of you may not be jumping for joy at the thought of kids in daycare for the summer.. I totally get that dilemma believe me!  Kuddos to us working Mom’s who somehow make it work!

Today I’m sharing a very special teacher’s gift.  Yes, I did spoil this teacher a little.  Ok, a lot!  She was Sari’s kindergarden teacher this year, who will remain nameless for her privacy.  None the less, she deserves some special recognition.  Sari came home nearly every day amazing us with what she was learning.  It started with her ‘sight words’, then double-digit math and reading!  We were so impressed with what Sari learned this school year that I wanted to give her teacher something special.  Hmmmmmm, what to do??  Then, this winter we learned that she was due with her first baby in August, a daughter!!  Bingo!! I knew exactly what to do for her!

So without further adieu… a baby girl mini album!  I used the Teresa Collins She Said collection.  I love using the 6×6 paper pads for mini albums.  The patterns are shrunk down to the 6×6 size so you don’t lose any details or miss out on the entire pattern.  I also used the 12×12 She Said Sticker Sheet, which contained so many fun elements and alphas!  The base of my mini album are some papers from my stash (Crate Paper I believe).  I adore the white on Kraft floral print!  It’s very soft and pretty.

To create the album base, I trimmed a 12×12″ sheet of patterned paper in half to 6″ by 12″.  Then, fold the 6×12″ piece in half to form the 6×6″ album base.  You can easily layer a few of these to create a mini book.  Just one sheet of 12×12″ paper gives you a great sized mini album with eight pages to decorate and add photos!

You can see below that I used a chipboard banner sticker (Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm) upside down.  The tags it’s attached to pulls out!  Her teacher can use it for journaling some sweet baby stats or some small photos of her darling baby girl.  Since the chipboard sticker is hanging over the top of the tag, I just attached some scrap paper to the back of the chipboard sticker that coordinated with the next page.

See those white felt flowers?  I cut those myself on my Cricut.  Say what?!  Yes, you CAN cut things other than paper and chipboard with your Cricut.  You just need to follow a few simple steps.  (More on that coming soon!!)  The flower centers are from the same chipboard sticker sheet as the banner (Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm) and little pearls are also from ZVA!  They’re a very inexpensive embellishment, $1.90 for 127 individual peals.  They add such a cute little touch!

Below, you can see the top of that chipboard banner sticker poking out on the top of the left side, next to the No. 1 sticker.  This simple technique adds another fun element to your mini album, along with the dark Kraft tags from Ranger that are on the right side.

To create the pocket for the larger tags, I adhered two pages together on three sides.  I left the top of those two pages free of adhesive to create the fun pocket.  I used these Kraft tags from Ranger, but you could also use the coordinating patterned paper to create your own custom tags!  I topped them off with a pretty cream colored seam binding.

 As you can see, I kept the design pretty simple.  I didn’t want the mini album to be too bulky.  But, by layering different patterned papers and stickers you can still give the pages some dimension and interest.  And, a doily here and there never hurts either 🙂  I also mixed in some other stickers from the Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm collecion.  All the Memory Works products have been linked up directly to the Memory Works website.  Contact me to order directly!  Thank you for visiting my blog today.  I hope you were inspired to create and try something new!

Coming soon…

1).  Storage and display ideas for you mini albums.

2).  Cutting more than paper on your Cricut!

Until then, happy scrapping!

I picked up the glass block for $5 on sale, the added the paper & stickers using Mod Podge and finished it off with a few Studio Calico wood veneers & a burlap bow.

This was so quick & easy to create & now my desk at work is much prettier! It really needed some spicing up, pun totally intended there since I used Lilybee All Spice theme set & cardstock stickers.

Don’t have time to get a glass block?? How about a couple mason jars or recycled pickle jar? Think outside the box, or jar, and create some beautiful & easy gifts this Holiday season.

Happy Holidays 🙂

Create an Easy December Mini Book!

 First of all… welcome to my new blog and website!!!  I’ll be adding more features in the upcoming weeks.  You’ll find the site navagation bar at the bottom of the page.

I said easy & I meant it!  Here’s what you do to create a simple 6″x6″ mini book, for any occasion.  I’m using my December Traditions Album to document some of the everyday things we do, like Black Friday shopping and putting up our tree right after.  St. Nick also visits our home and brings us goodies and a Christmas movie or two.

For this mini album, start with a couple 12″x12″ pieces of patterned paper.  I used double sided paper with a side I loved and a side I didn’t love.  I cut my wood grain sheet of paper in half to create two 6″x12″ pieces for my album pages.  Next, score the 6″x12″ piece at the 6″ mark, then fold in half as shown below.  {You can click on the individual pictures below to make them bigger.}

The next pictures in the gallery show the insides of album pages that I covered with Fancy Pants Home For Christmas 6×6″ papers.  I covered the crossword puzzle side of the papers and left the wood grain side exposed.

After arranging the order of my pages, I punched holes with my Crop A Dile.  Metal book rings are a great way to put together mini albums, tags albums and more!  Then, let the fun began!! I added Studio Calico Wood Veneers, May Arts Burlap String, tags, glassine bags, Mr Hueys Spray Ink, Washi tapes and more!

Now that you can see how easy it is, create one for your December traditions this year!  As a special THANK YOU for stopping by today, I have a special deal for you.  Buy 3 washi tapes in my Etsy Shop and one FREE!!!  Just message me with your FREE WASHI choice.

You really can make time to scrapbook around the holidays, just keep it simple and scrap it!!

Let’s Get Hoppin’

Welcome to your 5th stop on the Memory Works Birthday Blog Hop! ->5. Jody Spiegelhoff http://spiegelmom.blogspot.com/ <-
15. Christine Pennington http://christines-creativetherapy.blogspot.com/

I created a 12 month birthday timeline for our little Abigail, a.k.a Abby, for her 1 year birthday party.  She doesn’t turn 1 until November 14th, so for once I’ll be ahead of schedule!  I used the new Dear Lizzy Neapolitan 6×6″ pad, Chipboard, Vellum, MME Dolled Up & Crate Paper Pretty Party Stickers {here and there}, glassine bags, natural burlap string, Jillibean Corrugated Butterflies & Banners, American Crafts Rosette Ribbon, misc chipboard numbers, Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type letters, May Arts Watermelon Sheer ribbon and WRMK Eyelets.  Whew!  Now that’s a supply list!

As you can see, the pictures stop at the 7 month banner… she’s only 7 months!

Now for some close-ups!
I used the Tim Holtz Rosette Die & an EK Success Border Punch on this Banner.  Abby’s picture is inside the glassine bag on a pull out tag.

A little doily & spray ink from Mr. Huey goes a long was in adding some delicate texture.  I also ran the clouds & banners through my Sizzix Texture Boutique for some fun dimensional polka dots.

I also ran the glassine bags through my Texture Boutique ~ polka dots, flowers and swirly patterns give it more girly charm & texture.

Here’s a fun silhouette of the hanging banner in our front picture window.

Thanks so much for stopping by & helping us party it up for Memory Works turning 10!

There will be a *prize* for one lucky winner, sponsered by Memory Works!
