Trendy Tuesday/My girl

Good morning everyone!!! I hope your having an amazing 4th of July with your friends and family!! Sarah here this morning with my 1st trendy Tuesday post and as you  have probably heard this weeks theme is emojis!!!

I love emojis, they are just so cute! And my kids know what they are and love to draw them and the oder ones sending me different ones on their phones lol.

I chose to use the Crate paper line, Cute girl for my layout this week. I love all the girly little things you can do with this collection, but with the way I did this layout there wasn’t a lot of room for embellishing.

I went with a quite large emoji for my layout because I knew I wanted to make it itself a shaker pocket. I used one of the cut-files offered from SpiegleMomScraps this month, This is just one of the emojis that there are in the cut-file,But my emoji is how I started my page, other then having my photo already picked out, lol.

In my stash I have a bunch of stuff but I have like 3 boxes of clear sheets that were for over head projectors, I dont even know if they use those anymore, lol, but I have a bunch of them. So I cut my emoji out on my Silhouette and placed 2 behind the outer part and started sewing it on my sewing machine. I left a place open big enough for me to pour my Gotta Love Emojis sequin pack is and then finished sewing it up. I placed it on my page where I wanted it to the left because in the picture my daughter was looking in from the right.

After my big smiling emoji was down, I added a few strips of paper to the bottom of my layout and then went to layering papers behind my photo. I put my photo down and pulled out my embellishment pack, along with some of the sticker sheets and started to play a little. I have always loved that little doll from this collection and I thought this was a great layout to use it on! So I added her to the right side of my photo and then layered a few puffy flower stickers and some little hearts. I popped my title under the picture. Then I decided to add a few little banner pieces  and a few hearts to the top left of my layout and a few little word stickers  and more little hearts to the bottom left and was done.

I hope you enjoyed the layout I made today, I loved playing with the emojis and I hope you play along too!! Happy 4th to everyone again!!

Fuse It Fun Day- First Day Sillies

Hey everyone! I’m back with my Fuse tool this week! And in keeping with the 90’s theme, I bring you “gettin’ corky wit it”!

Yep, that was a terrible Will Smith reference! Haha! I realized recently that I scrapped my son’s first day of school photos, but not the “outtakes”! I really wanted to capture how silly he was being! I started with a naked tree cut file, and created leaves with cork embellishments. The tree on the right uses the Corky Cumulus embellies as leaf clusters. The tree on the left uses the Cork Confetti Hearts as the leaves! I contemplated painting the cork, but I went with the natural look because it reminded me more of Fall.

After I had the trees figured out I wanted to make a little school house. I created this cut file from free clip art. Once I layered each patterned paper, I fused little pockets of Gold Stardust Sequins for each of the windows on the back of the school house. The stardust sequins are probably my most favorite because they are so versatile and can be used on just about every project! For this layout I just love how they make the school shine!

Some Cloudy Days Felties finished off this little scene perfectly!

I absolutely love how this came out, it is quirky (and corky) and fun, really capturing my son’s personality! I hope you enjoyed it too!

Be sure to save some money when you stop by the scrappy store, and I would love to see how you “get corky wit it!” 🙂

Sketch it our Saturday/ Auntie on duty

Good morning everyone!!

So who is excited that this is a long weekend??!! (Hand in the air, jumping a little!!) lol And oh man, summer started here Friday, so a little more sleeping in and then running around with the kids! So much fun to come this summer!

Well this morning I’m here to share with you a layout and sketch that I crated.

I play around with making my own sketches off and on all the time. If i’m not in the mood to scrap or just cant actually get in to my scrappy room cause of other things going on, I’ll pick up on paper pad and sketch here and there.

Ok, so yes I know this is a goofy picture of my youngest daughter. My sister had come to baby sit so I could get some things done one day and I came back to this. My daughter is really light haired, maybe strawberry blond, and you cant really see her eye brows very well, so my sister thought it would be funny to draw them on with eye liner and have her make faces lol.

Now back to the layout, lol. I started with picking the goofy pic of my daughter, and to be honest, I started with the bottom of my layout, this inst something I normally do. I had grabbed an Amy Tangerine collection, Better together, I wanted bright and playful just like the picture.

I did the strip across the bottom of the layout, added a cut-file I had set to the side, with others I just hadn’t used yet. Then I jumped to the top of the layout and started layering my pattern paper strips there and I decided to add cut-file in there too.

I know in my sketch it shows circles cascading down the layout, but I decided to use squares, this was because I found a cute little cut apart sheet that I wanted to use, lol.

Then I started layering a frame and a larger ampersand behind my photo, along with a few acetate pieces.

I worked my way down the layout at this point and started to add the circle ephemera and the flowers to the bottom strip. I added my title about that and then my favorite part!! I pulled out my sequins and started to play!!

I used a mix of sequins on this layout, Jaded Hearts, Wild and Free and Gone with the Wind. These colors matched perfectly with this Amy Tan collection and I loved that I got to add a few little flower sequins in there!

Thanks for stopping by and seeing what I made today and I hope to see you play along with this sketch and if youd like a little discount on some SpiegleMom goodies, use this code below when you check out in the shop!

December Daily- Days 1-3

Hello friends! Katty here. I am extremely behind on my December Daily this year. I’m so glad I was finally able to get started. Today I am sharing Days 1-3. I have made a double 6×6 page spread. Since days 2 and 3 were very uneventful I was able to fit all three days in this double page spread.

I began with two matching pieces of patterned paper which I cut down to 6×6. They are red with white polka dots. For my left side layout I wanted to welcome back our Elf on the Shelf Buddy. I added some teal patterned paper to the bottom half. I also used a fiskars scalloped border punch with American Crafts white textured cardstock and some teal glitter tape to separate the two patterns. I added a lovely White Lace Paper Doily behind my photo of my Elf Buddy which I made round with a circle punch.

I added half circle stickers to the top and bottom of the page and I embellished with Chunky Cork Hearts and white flat back sequins from a retired mix which can also be found in the Happy Dance Mix.

I used white Freckled Fawn puffy alpha stickers to write out my tittle. My numbers for each day are also from Freckled Fawn and I embossed them with white embossing powder.

For the page on the right I used all of the same products. I also added a tag with some Red Bakers twine.

I printed some photos in black and white and some in color. I also added some blear phrase stickers from Recollections on one of the photos and over the patterned paper.

I’m really happy with how it turned out. Last years album was way too thick so I’m trying to find ways to slim it down this year and this seemed like a good option since there wasn’t much going on these three days.

Tuesday Talent

Tuesday's Talent

Hello everyone, Mandi here with my last post. This time it is an anniversary card that features May Arts Burlap String, Tutti Frutti Dazzlerz Texture Paste, Chunky Cork Hearts, Sunny SmilesSilver Stardust Sequin Confetti and Gold Stardust Sequins.

Design Team

I thought painting have of the hearts with the Dazzlerz was a great way to add a little extra wow. When the paste is wet apply the sequins. I just sprinkled them on to the surface and pressed them in with a stick.

I love who this card looks even when it is laying sown flat.  The sequins on the top and the cluster at the bottom adds a lot of drama without the bulk.

Thanks for stopping by and having me as a guest for this month.

What About Wednesday

Aloha Sparklers!!

I don’t know about you, but I have a tons of 6×6 pads hanging around in my stash. There was a time when that was all I was buying, I had 12×12 sheets of the same paper too. I love 6×6 paper too. The prints are a smaller scale, which is nice when you are layering. Also sometimes when you layering a smaller piece just fits better.

I have this obsession with mixing my old stash with brand new supplies on my layouts. I recently bought some new Crate Paper paper, which is perfect for this layout about my kids love for playing video games. I really love that the colors aren’t very girly. Flowers and bows just don’t look right on a layout about video gaming, not that I need to use all themed products.

It is fun every once in a while though. Like what I did with these old vellum video game pieces from Crate Paper Boys Rule (from a couple of years ago). I added the Magical Day in the Park sequin mix on the vellum pieces like it was shooting onto my layout.

I just love how cool that looks.

I used my old 6×6 pad papers that had similar colors, (I looked for the blue family), and layered them behind of my photos. I used two 3×4 sized photos. I love the way they looked layered over top of each other. and then all the patterns peeking out from behind them.

I added a little bit of Shimmerz Dazzlerz in Gummy Bear Blue on my white cardstock background. Because the Crate Paper has a more cream tone to it, I like to use more white in other places so my page doesn’t seem as vintage with that cream tone. For a layout like this it wasn’t a look I wanted, cream that is. The Dazzlerz, helps add a bit playfulness to the layout, that I wanted to tell with this layout as well. I am always thinking about ways that my story can be told through the products I am putting onto my layouts.

I found tons of fun ephemera to tuck into the layers!!

All the different shapes of sequins in this pack really made this layout so much fun!!

I used both blue and black colored alphas like I did in my layers. I also really wanted my title to tell about what my journaling will be about. Which is how my son, loves videos games. He loves to watch everyone else play the games. He gets so excited while he watches, almost like he is playing, but he won’t play at all. LOL!! Gotta love our kids silly antics!!

I hope you had fun today!! Don’t forget to pull out those 6×6 pads out or some stash that has been sitting in your craft space. I find adding something new and fun, like this fun sequin pack can make an older collection much more current feeling.

Have an inspired week!! Can’t wait to see you here next week!!!

Here is one last look at the whole layout.

Tuesday’s Talent with Pocono Pam: My Favorite!

@spieglemomscraps @poconopam, #spiegelmomscraps #scrapbook #DIY #cardmaking #projectlife #diecutHola SpiegelMom Scraps fans! Pocono Pam here with my last post as Jody’s guest designer for January. Wow! This month went by quickly huh? Valentine’s Day will be here before we know it! For that reason, I was inspired to make a love card and altered paper bag!

I started this project off with a white 10” X 6” Celebrate Paper Bag, the Recollections Valentine’s Day 6″ X 6″ Paper Pad and some fun embellishments from the SpiegelMom Scraps Shop.

Next, after folding and gluing the bag to create a pocket, I added patterned paper from the paper pad. (Geesh…. say that 5 times fast! )

I adhered white lace on the bag along the top of the pocket.

The fun part began when I made pleats in the 1/4″ light pink & white check ribbon from the SMS Shop to place on top of the lace. (This did not come without a few hot glue burns! Yikes!) I added a bow made with the same pink ribbon and added 3 pink fabric roses from my stash.

Underneath the pleated ribbon, I adhered a string of pink Felt Fetti from the SMS Shop.

Beneath the lace on the right hand side, I layered a pink felt heat with a few cork hearts. I did the opposite on the upper left-hand side of the bag with a cork heart and a string of pink felt hearts. I tied a bow with a piece of sting I had in my stash.

On the lower left-hand corner I layered a cork and felt heart along with a Studio Calico Wood Veener Speech Bubble. As in previous posts, I touched it up with pink Wink of Stella Glitter. I was excited when bling I had in my stash fit perfectly into the “O” in “FAVORITE”!

To go along with the bag, I quickly created a card using paper from the pad. I added more felt hearts and this cute Greeting Farms Image Stella.

Screen Shot 2016-01-18 at 9.56.30 PM Screen Shot 2016-01-18 at 9.56.12 PM

I covered the back of the bag.  The inside of the bag can be used for goodies to give as a gift! You can punch holes at the top and add a ribbon for closure or leave it as is!
