Here I am with a new Scrappy Friday, creating along with a sketch by Laura Rumble.
The problem with Laura is that she masters sewing so well it undoubtedly inspires her to create her sketches. The problem with me is that I haven’t got a clue on how to sew, so I have to use a lot of imagination to do it differently. LOL! Here is my page:
I used a picture taken by my daughter Maëlle (14yo) when we were in Ireland 2 weeks ago. See how she perfectly managed to capture both Pierre’s movement and the ricochets on the surface of the water. Pure art, don’t you think?
As far as I’m concerned, I printed this pic’ in black and white and decided to associate it with one of my favourite scrap color : Orange. Then, I used various circle stamps as well as some cork embellishments along with the now famous Puppy Dog Tails sequins (and officially my favourites!)
See you next week for a brand new Scrappy Friday!

Hi friends! Karla back today to share a First Day of Kindergarten layout with you using two of the fabulous new SpiegelMom Scraps sequin mixes – I Solemnly Swear and Blue Moon! The woodgrain sequins in the Blue Moon mix are so amazing!! I’m using one of the new FREE SMS cutfiles, which was perfect for this layout combined with the Simple Stories school papers. It’s so hard to believe my baby is already in school, but she loves it so much that I can’t really be sad…
You can see the detail of those gorgeous woodgrain sequins and how lovely they look combined with the amazing colours in the I Solemnly Swear mix! I used this week’s circle sketch since November is all about circles here on the blog (see below), and I drew on some stitching lines with a fine black marker by tracing a large round circle die. The smaller diecut circles using a Kaisercraft Nesting Circle Die set (on sale in the SMS shop!!) continue the stitched theme.
I love the colours in this Simple Stories school collection, which matched the sequins so well! Those cork letters are just great!

Hello scrappy people!
Today I have another guest design team layout for Speigelmom Scraps.
I am so in love with the new Glitter Girl collection by Shimelle and it was like the Speigelmom Scrap sequins You Are My Sunshine were made to coordinate with this collection.
I firstly cut some simple single daisy flowers and attached randomly over my background paper going for white on white, which is all about adding texture.
I then chose the bright floral and pink polka dot papers to keep it fun and bright.
I then created a embellishment feature and added the You Are My Sunshine sequin mix around it.
I have layered and used foam tape on some of the elements. I then finished off with some machine sewing.
My title ‘Be Remarkable’ is a cut file. I made this into another cluster feature by adding the die cut girl and finishing off with adding some more of the You Are My Sunshine sequin mix.
I have ensured my sequins are all flowing in the same direction as it draws your eye to one feature to another.
I think the sequins really give this layout sparkle and shine!
Thank you for stopping by today and I will be back next week at Spiegelmom Scraps with one final guest designer share and it will be all about a boy!
Hello everyone and welcome back for another Make it Yours Monday. This week, the Sparklers are scraplifting our talented Guest Designer for the month, Rachel Lowe. I just love her style and was excited to take this layout on…
For my take on this layout, I chose to feature a photo of our puppy, Charger, and the Rover paper collection. Using a 4″ strip of pattern paper, I created the top section of my page and used a boarder sticker to seperate the pattern paper and white cardstock I am using as my base. Using Night Moves Coloringz, I did my splattering now, instead of at the end. Moving to my photo, I chose a subtle pattern paper to mat my photo and using foam tape, added it to the center of my page.
For the embellishments, I chose some of the stickers from the collection sheet, wood veneers and some word sticker and created a cascade from the left to right of the page. My sparkle and shimmer come from the NEW I Solemnly Swear and The Sorting Hat mixes. I chose to use reds, blues, and yellows to tie in the colors in the pattern paper at the top of the page.
The finishing touches were to ink the edge of my white cardstock and add the title, He brings us joy, to the right of my photo, before mating the entire layout on a piece of dark brown cardstock. Some more sequins around the title and this page was finished. I LOVE the simplistic but fun feel of this page!!! Good morning everyone!! Sarah here this morning sharing another layout based on this fun sketch!
I pulled out some Pink Paislee goodies from my stash and a goofy picture of one of my boys.
I loved the circles on the sketch, so the first thing I did on my layout was run my cardstock through my sewing machine with black thread. I sewed on a few messy circles and went to matting my photo.
I already knew what sequins I wanted to use and they went great with the paper collection I chose, so I decided to layer red, which I used a punch on and then added a layer of yellow behind it too. After I put my photo where I wanted it, I pulled out the washi, it was grey with some cute glasses on them and I thought since the picture of my son had cute little glasses that they would go great together! So I added that under the bottom of the layers.

For my title, I decided to add it in to the sewn on circle to the left of my photo. I grabbed some foam thickers and some little yellow ones from Pretty little studios and named my layout, Panda boy. I added my sequins around that circle too along with some more metallic washi stickers and a flair button. And to finish it all off, I grabbed some of my shimmerz and did a little splattering and that was it!
This is the sketch I followed : And this is my page.
The photo was taken on my spending spree in Version Scrap Rennes, with a very close scrappy friend of mine. To win a contest in one of our favourite scrap shop, we were required to take a selfie in front of the shop wall covered with balloons. The perfect excuse to scrap it afterwards and get a souvenir of this moment. I’m soooo hopeless at selfies!
I also decided to use some of the stash I’ve been buying on that particular day (most of them stamps), as if I were inaugurating them LOL!
Then I splattered my page with some cork embellishments and the 2Cool4U sequins. It gave me the opportunity to scrap in yellow and blue, something I rarely do, and make my page looks as dynamic as my day was!Have a nice weeknd, Love from France,
