Scrappy Friday – Moments de Tendresse

Hello There,

This month at Spieglemomscraps, we’re using our tools and we are creating  along a winter theme.

Of cours, winter is associated with Christmas, and I’m sharing with you one of the Christmas presents I’m going to offer. This one is for my mother-in-law. I’ve captured some pics of all her grand children on their social medias, printed them and made an album for her, from A to Z. Here is a video:

The structure is very simple, it consists of white cardstock sheets and a cardboard cover. I’ve covered the cover with some paper and a Christmas-like rubbon, glittering with gold. I added a snowflake chipboard and some white thread.

I used the same collection as far as papers and embellishments are concerned. It gives the album harmony.

Then I decided to use my Cuttlebug and add some die cuts. I’ve got a Cameo, but I also like to use die cuts since it’s more simple and faster. However, die cuts are expensive on the longrun….

Here are some of my favourites.

I then decided to add some of Spiegelmomscraps Cork embellishments along with the Peachy Keeny sequins, which perfectly match my paper collection.

I’m really happy to focus on handmade presents this year, which mean, according to me, a lot more because they come from the heart.

What about you? Do you offer hand-made presents? And have you started to prepare them?

See you next week for another Scrappy Friday!

Scrappy Saturday-Christmas Kitty

Good morning scrappy friends! I hope your weekend has been going good! We have a few Christmas parades to go to this weekend and the kids are so excited for them!

Today Im here to share with you a layout I made using some beautiful Sequins and a collection from Bella Blvd, Holly Jolly Christmas. I used Shabby Chic Christmas Some navy sequins from Puppy dog Tails and Hustle Bustle and these sequin collections went perfectly with the Bella collection I chose to use!

This month were also focusing on using our tools. Well to be honest, I dont have a lot of scrappy tools. I used my scissors a lot, my sewing machine and my punches. So I decided to make a big shaker pocket for this layout. I used an 8.5×11 page protector and filled it with my pretty sequins and sewed it shut. I loved all the colors mixed together and that there was a large amount of them on my layout, the more sequins the better, lol!

I never start with my sequins, I always save them for last, just because I love to add all the pretty sparkles, but this time I started with my large shaker pocket.

When I had my shaker pocket down, I pulled out papers from Holly Jolly Christmas and started to cut some triangles in different sizes to make into Christmas trees.

When I had the trees cut to the sizes I wanted I added a little adhesive to the back, not a lot because I knew I  wanted to sew threw them. I matted my photo of my kitty under the tree sleeping, with some of the red that I used for some of the trees and popped it up on 3d adhesive and stuck it down.

I sewed through my trees and lifted there sides up a bit to add some dimension and moved to my title. I pulled the word Christmas from the die cut pack from this collection and added it down under the middle of my photo and added kitty in some green alphas. I thought I was done but I saw those cute bows clips and decided I would add a few to the tops of my trees. So I popped them off there clips and added two to my trees and that was it for me!

I love, love ,love these sequin mixes I used! I think Hustle Bustle is one of my favs right now, and all three sequin mixes worked great with this collection! Thanks for stopping by and checking out what I made today and I hope you have a great rest of your weekend!!

Scrappy Friday – Nature Today

Hello there!

I’m back here for my Scrappy Friday with a brand new theme since today is December 1st. This month, we’ve decided to talk about winter and use our scrappy tools.

As far as I’m concerned, where I live in France winter is slowly approaching. It’s getting colder and colder and it rains a lot  (we sometimes even have hail storms).

So I decided to use the Spiegelmomscrap’s Umbrella Free Cut File  and I was looking for the perfect picture when suddenly I looked by the window…. The perfect picture and its rainbow where just waiting to be taken outside my scraproom… I then added some orange papers to mat my pictures and grab some embellishments. Some tags and stamps later, I only had to add the Just Beachin’ It sequins to match it all.I really like documenting this kind of details in my traveller note book since everyday little details are part of my happiness, and I often take the time to admire a rainbow, a sunset, or leaves whirling in the wind…..

I enjoy using my cameo as well, even if I often struggle with it. Have you checked the brand new winter free cut files in the blog?See you next week for a brand new Scrappy Friday!

You are a Star by Rachel Lowe:

Well today is my last share as a guest designer for Speigelmom Scraps and I have had such fun creating with the wonderful sequin mixes.

It is all about a boy today!

I have used Pink Paislee Paige Evans Turn the Page collection.

I have also used her hexagon cut file available at the Silhouette design store.

I also used a star cut file to create my white stars.

I have used the Happy Happy Winter sequin mix but did not include the burgundy sequins.

I made my star shaker first.

Cut one star whole (this is the back of your star.

Cut another five but this time cutting a smaller star in the centre.

Set one aside.

Glue the four stars on top of each other.

Then glue the four stars to the back whole star.

Now put your sequins in the centre, do not over fill or the sequins will not be able to move around the star.

I then cut a star by hand using acetate (you could use vellum) and glued to the top of my star.

Now with the last star you set aside glue on top of the acetate star.

Now you have a sequin shaker!

I used a striped paper from Turn the Page collection and backed the hexagon.

I had to add some machine sewing!

Then I added my sequin star, varying shaped white card stock stars and finished off with some more machine sewing on the stars.

I then added my title and balanced my layout with some embellishments.

So glad my nail polish matched my sequins lol!

Thank you for stopping by today and it has been fun sharing my layouts with you all and show casing the wonderful products in Speigelmom Scraps shop!

Make It Yours Monday~ Welcome Little One

Hello scrappy friends! Thanks for joining me for another Make It Yours Monday. This month, our theme has been circles and sketches, and this weeks sketch is SO fun and different!!!

To begin my layout, I trimmed down my white cardstock 1/4″ all around. Then, using the packaging technique, applied a light pink Shimmerz to the lower right corner of the page. This created a messy but fun area that my photo will sit in later on. Next, using a dinner plate from my kitchen, I traced 4 circles, making sure to overlap and off set them as a guide for my stitching. I took the page to my sewing machine and stitched over the lines (not very well!!!) using 4 colors of thread (navy, pink, teal and purple) that worked with the colors I’m using on the rest of the page.

After the circles were stitched, I began to work with my photo. I chose to mat my picture with a soft lilac and polka dot paper, then, to make it stand out, a slightly darker purple shade of cardstock. I added some foam tape to the back to make it stand out just a bit more and adhered it to the layout on the bottom right corner, slightly crooked, trying to follow the lines of the circle.

Instead of circles around the photo, I opted to go with hearts. Using my heart punches in various sized, I punched them from different pieces of pattern papers coordinating with the colors I had in the thread. I arranged them in a curve both above and below the photo, keeping the circle vibe going. To mimic the dotted circles on the sketch, I added some more hearts punched from vellum.

To bring in some more color and a dose of sparkle, I used the new Unicorns & Rainbows sequin mix, which also inspired my entire color pallet for this page. Going around the circle, I added these beautiful sequins all around the page, as well as by the title, that I added to the inner most circle, again, following the curve.

To finish my page, I matted the entire layout on a deep purple cardstock and stitched around the edges. A date stamps and extra splatters were the final touch.

I hope you enjoyed todays layout and will use this sketch as well! When your done, be sure to share it in the Spiegelmom Scraps Facebook group, 15 Minutes to Scrap with Spiegelmom Scraps!!!! AND, be sure to stop by the shop and grab some of the GREAT products used here, and make sure you

Another Fabulous Sketch!

Happy Sunday y’all! It’s Ali again 🙂 The Sparklers are working with another amazing sketch this week,  and it is designed by our very own, Laura!

I was so inspired by the circles this week, these clusters instantly made me think of a cute photo I snapped one day at a restaurant with my son. We had ordered a virgin margarita to share, and the server was super confused…”isn’t that just lime juice?” he was baffled. But my son and I absolutely love lime juice! So those circles quickly became limes on my layout!

I started by water coloring the limes, which was a bit labor intensive, but well worth it in the long run! Then I added the details of the larger circles with a black pen. When that was finished I added a bit of stamping here and there, my title, and the small amount of journaling. I wanted to keep the rest of the layout pretty simple, so I just layered a but under my photo and added some vellum leaves here and there. Then onto the fun part!

Adding sequins was so simple with the stamping clusters I already created, I knew exactly where to scatter them. The Cunning Ones mix was beyond perfect for my limey layout, the green and black combo, with a pop of silver, who could ask for more? I feel like these sequins did their job…they tied the entire layout together and I could not be any happier about how this turned out!

Scrappy Saturday-Love this guy

Good morning everyone!! Sarah here this morning to share a new layout with you. Y’all have probably already seen this sketch but thought I’d share it again to show you what I got my inspiration from.

I loved this sketch as soon as I saw it!! I started with a sheet of white cardstock, I lightly drew on a circle and grabbed Aint life Grand from my stash and started to punch out different sized circles.

I laid the circles I punched out around the circle I had drawn on, but wanted more circles, so I grabbed the circle stickers and die cuts from this collection and layered them in with the other circles. When I had them all where I wanted them I ran my page threw my sewing machine.

Once I had my circles stitched down and a few messy circles sewn, I grabbed my photo and added a few paper layers behind it. I messed up the edges some and then popped it all up on 3D foam, added a xoxoxo tab and stuck it down. I grabbed some word stickers from my stash and added them above and below my photo and moved onto adding my sequins!

To finish my layout, I reached into my lovely basket of sequin packets and grabbed out Puppy Dog Tails and Hustle Bustle. The colors were perfect, so I started to add them around my sewn circles.  I loved the shine it added to my layout and the color pops it added to the top of my layout too! I decided to add a navy polkadot paper as a boarder around my whole layout and added a little Heidi Swapp gold color shine splatters and was done!

Thanks so much for checking out my layout and make sure to check out what all the other Sparklers make too!! Head over to the shop and check out all the new sequins too!!
