Hannah’s Pinata

Hannah’s Pinata Bday party was a blast!!  Here are a couple pics from the fun day.  Let me know if you’d like instructions for making a pinata.  It’s very easy, just takes time to dry and it’s a little messy.  Happy crafting and enjoy this nicer weather we’re having!!

Be back soon with a fun way to use your Memory Works Simple Stories Kit!

Congrats to Tracy!!

She called me the next morning and guessed what my project was this week…. our daughter Hannah’s PINATA for her birthday party tomorrow!  Great job Tracy.  I’ll get you scrappy prize pack to you next week.  Here’s a picture of the pinata being covered with crepe paper after I cut fringes along edge…no I’m not crazy and DO sleep.  This really didn’t take as long as you’d think.  The long process is the drying between the layers, a good 24 hours.

This weeks project…

Ok ladies.. what am I working on this week?  I’m only giving you these two pictures to start with.  Our daughter Hannah turns 3 on April 29th, so I’m making this for her party this Saturday.  The first correct guess before Saturday wins a fun prize (picture on the way).

If there aren’t any correct guesses by Thursday, I’ll post 2 more pictures & another hint.   Happy guessing!

My recent favorite layout.

Here’s my favorite layout that I created at my April 2nd Swap Crop!  I actually got several done that day, but this is my favorite!  I used papers from Michael’s for the background, American Crafts: Kraft Cardstock & Thickers letter stickers for title “Our Jumping Monkeys”, Tim Holtz Adage Ticket, Simple Stories yellow textured cardstock, Jenni Bowlin mini bingo card Adore, Cosmo Cricket cardstock sticker “Sent From Heaven”, Bazzil brown ribbon, Hobby Lobby: ruler ribbon, blue fringed trim from JoAnn, Maya Road small cream rosette ribbon, twine, wood buttons & die cut felt flowers and banner (My Etsy Shop).  I also used my Sizzix Texture Boutique to add the embossed dots to the kraft cardstock under the title.

Thanks for looking!!  Happy Scrapping!

A Layout From a Crop

Hi there!  I just wanted to share one of the layouts I did while at my friend, Pat’s, fundraiser crop on March 12th.  I used Jenni Bowlin embossed cardstock (green) & LEARN Bingo Card, Memory Works Simple Stories papers (stripes and polka dots) and brown cardstock, Creative Memories Large Circle Cutter and punches (to make small flowers), Misc metal stick pins, EK Success border punches, Flower and Star cut on my Cricut using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, my Sizzix Texture Boutique to add embossed polka dots on the star, cream tulle and green polka dot ribbon (Hobby Lobby), Basic Grey brad, and misc jewels.  Enjoy the school themed inspiration ~ Jody

Welcome to my new blog!!

This has been a long time coming, but here it is!  I’ve tossed around the idea of starting my blog for months, literally.  Well, I finally pulled the trigger and here I am!  After months of some “research”, which was basically scouring my favorite blogs, websites and scrapbooking manufacturers, I decided that it’s time.

Blog ~v~ My Website:  what did it for me was having a running feed of posts, and being able to search for older blog posts if you saw something particular at one time, but has since been hidden. With my website, which I’ll still keep current, I have to delete information all together to add more recent information.

So, the blog has begun.  Now, I won’t be blogging every day, but I will keep you up to date on my scrapbooking news and events. You’ll see the latest in scrapbooking products from the annual CHA Trade Shows (Craft & Hobby Association) when my Memory Works goodies are showcased  here.   I’ll also be sharing my tips and fun techniques along with way.

Join me a fun crafty journey.  Sign up to “Follow Me” and you’ll see that SpiegelMom Scraps! is the blog-place to be~

Thanks for stopping by my new blog.
