Days 20 & 23 of CARDS!

30 Days 30 cards

Well, it’s Deer Hunters Widows Weekend in our home and the winds are really howling here in Southeastern Wisconsin!   As much as this sappy girl misses her hubby this weekend, I love all this girl time with our daughters.  Yesterday we made enchiladas together they did nearly all the work!  Then we ate dinner, watched Barbie and the Pink Shoes & they stayed up past their bedtime while I helped a friend put together a fabulous Close To My Heart canvas kit together.  Day 1 = perfection!

Day 2 of my vacation and it’s time for more holiday cards.  Here is the fabulous sketch for Day 20 and it’s rocked out by Kelly Holbrook on the Memory Works blog HERE.

Here’s my take on this card.  I used Fancy Pants Merry Little Christmas 6×6 pad, kraft cardstock and both natural and red May Arts burlap string from my Etsy Shop.

I added some embossing to the green cardstock and love the oomph it adds behind the chipboard sticker elements.  That combined with some foam adhesive and bling made this card very easy to create!

Day 23’s sketch, with Gia really “Glitz”ed up on the Memory Works blog TODAY.

And my card!!  I really love how you can decorate each of the three smaller elements on the card to almost reate a mini scrapbook layout.. so cool!  I used my EK Success edge paper punches to create the notebook edge and the small scalloped edged square.  Then I inked the edges to make them stand out a little more since my background was light.

Here’s a closer view of my mini elements on my card.  I adorned the little “layouts” with red and white baker’s wine, wood veneer, bling and cardstock stickers to finish it off.  Again this was a very easy card to put together with the sketch!

Thank you for hanging out with me today!  See you in a day or two with more cards and a Heidi Swapp blog share follow up layout!

Do something creative today!

Love these cards Jody. I think I will have to give that second sketch a whirl. Your card makes it look so fun. And I have some new sequins to play with! Enjoy your girls’ weekend. After grocery shopping trip I will get some studio time,
