Amy Tangerine Cut & Paste Blog Share!!

Amy Tan Blog share

I have to tell you that I couldn’t be more excited for this Clique Kits blog share today.  We had a blast working with Cut & Paste by Amy Tangerine which was released last summer.  You should have arrived here from Gia Lau, The Painted Crane.  Didn’t she just blow you away!!  If you’re stopping by my blog first today, be sure to visit our Clique Kits blog for details on the awesome PRIZE PACK we have for you and the complete blog share line up today.

Here are my layouts!  Many of you already know me & my girls… lots of pinks and girly fru-fru here!  Amy Tangerine’s Cut & Paste line really made me appreciate the neutral color palette much more, while still scrapbooking about our girls.  I know lots of families who have a mixture of boy and girls or all boys.  I often hear “I love your layouts, but they’re all girly.”  I know, I know….. This was a challenge for me scrappers, but today I think you’ll be amazed at how versatile Cut & Paste really is, along with Amy Tangerine’s other lines too.

One thing you’ll see on this layout is lots of layers using all the different Amy Tangerine papers.  I trimmed a few of them down to about 6×8″ and smaller to create my layers.  Right above my photo of our youngest daughter Abigail, you’ll see an embossed piece of pink card stock.  I wanted to pull just a little bit more pink into the layout so I grabbed a piece of scrap card stock, embossed it with dots and tucked it under my photo.  It’s a great way to use your tools while you’re scrapbooking.  Erica has already done a fabulous job on this in her Geek Lab posts on the Clique Kits Blog!!  Be sure to follow Clique Kits so you don’t miss any of our posts!!

You could totally put a photo of a boy right into this layout with a couple very minor adjustments, such as replacing the pinks with yellow or other neutral color.    Let’s move on to my tag, shall we.  I created my ombre painted tag using these simple shipping tags, white acrylic paint and some spray inks.  For the full tutorial on how I created my ombre tag you can check out my YouTube video HERE.

After I created several of these tags for my video, I still had some left over.  This one was a perfect fit for this layout!  Along with our papers & embellishments for this blog share, Erica also sent us the Amy Tangerine stitching stencil kit!!! EEEK!  So awesome!  Now for this tag, I didn’t use the actual stencil letters, but I did use the cute little paper piercer & foam mat to punch holes in the word HAPPY.  This was very quick and easy to do.  Just for reference, I used about 3 yards of embroidery floss to stitch the word HAPPY.

The next thing I did was add some gold heat embossing to my layout.  I really loved the tiny epoxy stars that Erica sent us and wanted to play them up more.  I dug out (literally out of an unpacked box from moving 18 months ago) my gold embossing powers and went to town.  I added some stars and a little banner using a Dear Lizzy banner stamp.

My next next layout was super fun to create.  I loved this large multi-colored diagonal stripe paper.   This colorful background reminded me of large arrows so I played that up by having the big arrows point to my photos.

I added spray inks and some cool rub-ons to point towards my photo even more.  I continued to use the arrows and lines in this awesome paper to my advantage.  Can you see how all the lines are pointing and leading your detail-lovin’ eyes into my layout!?

Below, you get a good look at the stitching in part of my title “SCORE”.  It was very easy to line up the stitching template and quickly punch the little holes.  I used about 1 yard of embroidery floss when stitching my letters.  Also, look just above the die cut “YEAH YEAH YEAH.”  Those arrows were from a fun rub-on that Erica also sent us.

And finally, my pocket page!!  I’ll keep this short and sweet for ya.  I want you to really look at the sides of some of the photos and journaling cards.  You’ll see some little colorful tabs sticking out, which are stickers.  Those little tabs are a little secret of mine and I’m happy to share with you today!  I often time, take a lot of pictures at our girls events… and I mean A LOT!!  I wanted a way to include more of my photos without really doing more layouts since they photos are all of the same event basically.  So, I used various stickers to create little pull tabs on photos that I slipped behind the main photos in my pocket page layout.  Check out how many more pictures are actually in this layout!!
