let's scrap

Adding layers to your projects is easy

Adding layers to your scrapbooking projects gives them more interest and texture.  These are elements that make the things we see more pleasing to the eye.  You can do this in a variety of ways, and it’s much easier than you think!

First up, a layout about our sweet nephew Wyatt. I used the Memory Works May Express Kit. It was filled with lots of Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm papers and embellishments, Amy Tangerine papers, coordinating cardstocks and more!

Next, I used the sprayer stick from my Mr. Huey’s White ink to drop some ink around the navy blue cardstock, then cut the yellow heart paper to 8″ by 10″ .  I cut a banner into one of the short sides and adhered it to the page.  Then, I started to play around with the different cardstock die cuts from Dear Lizzy’s Lucky Charm Collection until I liked what I had.  I also used some of the Dear Lizzy Packaging as an element peaking out from behind the picture along the left side as you’re looking at the layout..  This is something I blogged more about in a past post (EcoScrapbooking).

Just add the little elements until you like what you see!  There’s no right or wrong, no special formula.. it’s about YOUR style and YOUR taste!  The cool polaroid frames are from Maggie Holmes (Crate Paper).  The pack has a fantastic variety, including colors for boys and girls!  I love them.  They’re fabric with a nice backing on them.  I popped them up with some foam adhesives and tied a corner with red and white bakers twine.  You’ll also see a large glassine bag tucked behind Wyatt’s adorable photo.  You can find those lovely bags in more sizes in my Etsy Shop
