Tuesday’s Talent – Project Life Stitching

Hi SMS fans!  It’s Melissa Renkawitz, your July Guest Designer, back with another installment of Tuesday’s Talent.

This week’s theme is stitching, and this layout has plenty of it!!!  Today I am sharing with you a layout I just completed for my Project Life album, which documents an amazing weekend I spent at a country music festival last month.

Here is the overall layout…

Here are some of my favorite cards, which feature Shooting Cork Stars from the SMS shop. I love these little cork shapes, they are so fun, and super easy to stitch!  (I do all my stitching by hand)

Seriously, how cut are these little cork stars with the stitching!?!?!

This Project Life layout also includes a 6×12 insert to hold extra photos.  A highlight of this insert is a 3×4 pocket that holds a combination of sequins and more cork stars.

I backed the pocket with a piece of vellum, and added a few labels in the lower right corner, which I stitched in place.  The sequins used in this pocket are a mix I put together to coordinate with the layout colors.  I pulled sequins from “Hey Kiddo” “Sparkle Power” and “Neon Summer.”

If you haven’t tried mixing sequins and cork shapes, or stitching cork on your layout, give these techniques a try! Stop over to the SMS shop, to pick up your own sequins and cork!

(Other products used in this layout are from Citrus Twist Kits)
