Lovely – An Autumn Inspired Layout

Last week I got a shipment of really gorgeous fall colored Shimmerz products from the shop. I knew immediately I wanted to use them on some Hip Kit Club leafy cut files. Above is how they turned out.. so gorgeous! But they sat there piled on my desk for a week without any direction. I soon remembered that I had felt challenged to use a black background for an upcoming layout. Hint: I left the cuts on my Silhouette mat as I painted (and used my heat gun to dry each layer) to help prevent curling. 

To begin my layout I backed my photo with a glassine bag and some ephemera from the Gather collection.  I knew I wanted to mix in the leaves included in the ephemera pack to balance out the colorful painted ones. After I played around with placement a little, I stitched all of the leaves in place. I then added a few Thickers from Pink Paislee’s Take Me Away collection – including my title. Underneath the heart I bunched up some string for a little dimension. The “happy place” chipboard is also from the Gather collection. I love how it looks on top of that postcard ephemera. To finish off my layout, I added a few gold embellishments.

I love fall so much! I really can’t get enough of colors that remind me of this changing season. I hope you’ll challenge yourself on a project soon! Thanks for stopping by.
