Mothers Day Card with Katty Miranda

Cards, tags

Hello friends! Katty Miranda here with a Shaker Doily Mothers Day Card to share. If you are reading this on the day it is posted Happy Mother’s Day. I hope you are all having or have had an amazing day. This is the card I will be giving to my mom this year so I wanted to make sure it was as beautiful as she is. I began by stamping some flowers and leaves from a Hero Arts stamp set called Color Layering for You Flowers(CL944.) This stamp set is stamped out in layers so I used several pink ink pads from my stash to create the flowers. I started with the lightest color and worked my way to the darkest shade. For the leaves I used two green Spectrum Noir Markers to get a green shade that I liked. I didn’t have the right shades of green in my ink stash. I stamped a couple of flowers/leaves on white cardstock and a couple on velum. This gave me different shades because the two surfaces react to the ink differently. I then fussy cut out the flowers and leaves. I arranged them on a 6×6 white cardstock which will be my base.

I then took a White Lace Paper Doily and I cut out the center, leaving a thin border before the lace area began. I used clear packaging and scotch foam mounting tape to create my window. I filled my doily with the beautiful Believe in You Sequins and the Glass Slippers Sequins. I adhered my shaker doily to the center of my white base and arranged the stamped flowers on the top left and bottom right of the doily.

I did use some of the foam mounting bape to pop those flowers up. I used some American Crafts thickers called Juy in a dark coral color to spell out Mom. I placed that above my doily. I used a dark coral cardstock to mat the whole card. I felt it was missing something so I took some American Crafts Yellow twine and added it around the inner border of the doily. I really hope my mom enjoys the card. It was definitely fun to make.
