Cuts2Luv Product Swap Blog Hop

untitled-1

Hello everyone, Jody here today for a very special blog hop! The Sparklers and I are very excited to announce our product swap with the fabulous flair shop, Cuts2Luv!! We have been planning this for months and are super excited the day is finally here!! Caroline from Cuts2Luv is a total a sweetheart and her flair are wonderful, so be sure to check her shop out HERE.  This is a long hop, so let’s get to it!

For today, Iโ€™m sharing a layout I created based off a sketch I designed and have included some brand new Shimmerz products, a free cut file (found HERE), and some lovely flair from Cuts2Luv!

I used this sketch as my inspiration and this FREE SpiegelMom Scraps cut file to create all my snowflakes. You can find the cut file HERE and the sketch can be saved right from this post. After cutting the Flakey background for another project, I saved all those lovely flakes for more projects! I stuck pretty close to my sketch, which always makes my scrapping go way faster.  I  just turned the sketch on it’s side to mix it up a little bit.  After all, I did just have an insane weekend LOL!!!  I started with white American Crafts cardstock and used several of the die cut snowflakes to as masks, painting over them with In The Navy AcriTonez from Shimmerz Paintz.  This technique is great when you want to create your own background and want specific colors!  I then used some of those same die cut snowflakes on my layout and layered them with the Blustery Day Feltie Snowflakes.  LOVE THESE!!

The new AcriTonez are amazing, self-priming paints.  They go on with a chalky-like feel and dry completely matte, almost like chalkboard paint does. It’s the coolest!!  I also completely painted over the “Today” in my title.  It was black and the AcriTonez cover it beautifully.@spiegelmomscraps @jodyspiegelhoff @americancrafts @Shimmerzpaints @amytangerine @cuts2luv, #spiegelmomscraps #scrapbook #cuts2luv #shimmerzpaints

After my background dried, which was super fast, I added some layers of Pink Paislee Moonstruck behind my photos to bring out the bright pink and navy.  I added some contrast with a Corky Flake (die cut cork snowflakes) and love how they stand out!15895056_10212346760050745_4755489259166753365_n

One of my favorite things to do when scrapbooking is adding small details around my page. It keeps your eye moving around the layout and gives it so much texture and interest.  Adding little details like Cut2Luv flair, SpiegelMom Scraps Sequins and splatters of Shimmerz sprays are my totally perfect finishing touches!  The navy blue splatters you see are Mama Sings the Blues Coloringz.  Caroline’s flair is fabulous!!  Layering it, like I did below is so much fun!  You’ll love the dimension and texture it adds to you layout!  Do check her out!!  Also pictured below are Tiny Heart Cork Confetti and Chasing Azul sequins.15966111_10212346760370753_4073962368382616117_n 15978069_10212346760850765_5285112350810972712_n
