Make It Yours Monday~ Sweet

Sprinkles and Sparkles everywhere! It’s Shimelle, aka Glitter Girl, week at Spiegelmom Scraps!!! I have always loved her style and am so excited to show you my take on one of her layouts this week using some amazing sparkly and incrediable sequins from the shop!!! This is the layout I chose to take as my inspiration and knew the perfect photo as soon as I saw it!!!!

To begin my take, I chose a soft pink pattern paper. I cut down another pattern paper to create 3×4 cards and matted them with a solid pink cardstock. Using the same pink cardstock, I matted my photo and arranged them across the top 1/3 of my page. I added a doily to add some sweetness!!

I added two more 3×4 cards to the bottom of the page and used one of them as my journaling spot and the other to hold a sweet cupcake sticker!! I also added another cupcake and a row of pink heart felties, attaching with my tiny attacher.

I added my title and some more sweet as sugar embellishments and then, the sparkle, or sprinkles!!! I could not do a Shimelle layout without using one of the newest mixes, Glittler Girl!!! I also added some of the new Ferris Wheel to bring some teal to the sequin clusters! I love the pops of color these beautiful sequins added!!!

The finishing touch was some splatters of Shimmerz Glorious Day Vibez, Oh Say Can U Sea Colorings and Cotton Candy Spritz. I then stitched around the edge of my layout with some grey thread, and stitched on the cards and title as well! I Really REALLY like how this page turned out and hope I did some justice to Shimelle’s!!

Be sure to check out the Shop for the great products and sequin mixes I used today and when you make a purchase

Make It Yours Monday~Celebrate Love

Happy Monday Scrappy friends and thanks so much for joining me for another Make It Yours Monday!! This week, we are being inspired by the awesome and amazingly talented Katty Miranda! I had a hard time choosing a layout to be inspired by, because I love her style!! In the end, I chose this beautiful and clean layout to highlight my photo with!

I just love how all the elements on the page bring your eye towards the most important part of the whole layout, the photo!

To begin, I trimmed down a piece of American Crafts white cardstock 1/4″ on each side. I splattered some Glorious Day Vibes and Night Moves Coloringz Shimmerz on the blank page before I did anything else! (I prefer to start with my splatters so I dont ruin a finished layout with some missed placed splatters!!!) After they were dry, I got out my 6×6 stencil, turned it sideways and used the corners to create the triangular sections of the page using the Gold Mine Texturez paste.

While the texture paste was drying, I mounted my photo on some black cardstock, tucked a 4″ doily I cut in half behind each side and then used a piece of vellum to finish the matting.

After everything was dry, I adhered the photo and title to the center of the layout. Next, the Black Tie Event sequin mix took center stage!! I sprinkled the beautiful glossy black and iridescent white sequins all over the page to give some more texture, sparkle and interest. I Love this mix, it’s SO versatile!!

Thanks so much for coming back and joining me this week! I hope you enjoyed todays project and will check out the shop for some of these amazing products!! AND, when you do, dont forget

Make It Yours Monday~Hello Love

Hello Friends! I’m so excited for this weeks project. As you know, this week, the Sparklers Design Team are all scraplifting and being inspired by the amazingly talented and super sweet Kat Benjamin! I instantly was drawn to this fun layout featuring her puppy, Moose, and knew I also wanted to use this to scrap a photo of our sweet little guy, Charger!!!

To begin, I layered a piece of American Crafts white cardstock, trimmed to  8.5×11, over a fun polka dot patterned paper. I used some fun  stickers on the far left side of the white cardstock to create a boarder where the papers meet.

I matted my photo on a piece of white cardstock to help brighten it up, since it was suck a dark picture. I placed my photo about a third of the way down from the top, and layered a 4″ doily behind it when I adhered it down. A cute little die cut puppy and a wood veneer heart just made this layout extra sweet! I used some of the tiny word stickers from the sticker sheet included with the puppy love collection I am using for this layout to set the theme. They say My Dog is my Heart and Me & My Best Friend. I completely feel this way about my furry little love bug!!

For the white portion of the page, I got to have fun with some more embellishments. I used some paper punched hearts to create the base for some clusters. Then, I added some wood veneer, tiny word stickers and my favorite, cork hearts, available in the shop (for a little while longer, there not being restocked!!! Grab some if you want them!!!!) I knew the perfect sequin mix for this page would be the Honor Guard mix, with the beautiful primary reds and blues!! So, I sprinkled some of them around in the heart clusters and created little clusters of these sparkly beauties by themselves!

To finish, I heat embossed my wood veneer title with some pretty blue powder and versamark ing and used my wind of stella sparkle pens on the bottom. Then I adhered it to the right of my photo. A little bit of journaling under the picture and I was finished!

I hope you enjoyed my layout today and will check out the shop for some of the fun products I used today, including the sparkly Honor Guard sequin mix! When you shop in the store, dont forget…

Make It Yours Monday~Friends Are…

Missy Whidden Inspiration, take 2! I have the pleasure of closing out the week of being inspired by Missy. It was not hard to find a number of beautiful layouts to be inspired by, but this one was just SO pretty, and chose it as my second influence!

To begin my take, I gessoed a piece of purple cardstock and then used the packaging technique to apply my shimmerz to the background. I used The Tide that Bindz Texturez, Sea U in the Morning and Pucker Up Pink Dazzlerz, Raspberry Sherbet Paste-eez and some Chick-a-dee Spritz.

While the background was drying, I used my Scan N Cut and the free Blooms & Butterflies cut file from the shop to cut the beautiful flowers and backed them with a 6×6 paper pad in my stash. Then, I matted my photo with some solid pink cardstock, gold glitter paper and some vellum.

When all the mixed media was dry, I adhered the backed cut file and my photo to the background. I added some Missy inspired tangled thread bunches around the cut file and some gold thread under the photo. My title went to the left of my picture and as a finishing touch, I used a mix of both the Sweet Summer Vibes and Fairy Garden sequin mixes to bring some shimmer to the center of each die cut flower and in clusters around the page. Some gold splatters and I was done!

Thank You SO much for joining me for another Make It Yours Monday!!! I hope you will check out all the amazing products in the shop!! Dont forget…

Make It Yours Monday~Summer Joy

Hello Scrappy friends and welcome MISSY WHIDDEN week here at Spiegelmom Scraps!! I had such a hard time finding a layout I wanted to replicate, there all so beautiful!! BUT, I was finally drawn the fun summery feel of this one, partially due the photo that was sitting on my desk!

To begin my layout, I started with a piece of white American Crafts cardstock, available in the shop. I took out my Shimmerz mists in Jeni B Bleu Vibez, Cotton Candy Spritz, Pretty in Pink Coloringz, and Spritz in Chic-a-dee and used them all to do the packaging technique across the center section of my page. To minimize the colors from mixing, I allowed them to dry in between colors. For some added texture and interest, I also used some bubble wrap to put some of the colors down! Look around your space for unique ways to bring texture to your layout!!!

While the backgrounds were drying, I worked on my photo layers. I made sure to bring in some pattern papers with colors used in the background for added pops of color, and in true Missy style, some white tissue paper was my back layer!

My next area of focus was my die cut flowers. To bring them to life, I used Pink Stilettos Coloringz to give them a base color and then, brought in some Pinkadelic Acritonez and Pucker up Pink Dazzlerz to give the centers some detail and attention. For the flower stamens, I misted them several times with the Chick-a-dee Spritz to build up a pretty yellow center. The tropical leaves were given there color by first spraying them with Bamboo leaf Spritz and then, some texture with Leafy Greens Dazzlerz.

When the background was completely dry, I first adhered my photo, slightly off center and with a whimsical tilt to it. Also channeling Missy, added some tangled thread in the top left corner!! I arranged and adhered the flowers and leaves and then added my title “Summer Joy” ( my little Mia’s middle name is Joy, so it was kinda cool to work it in!!) just to the bottom left of the photo. I could not finish this layout without some splatters using all the mists I had already used in this layout AND some fabulous SpiegelMom Scraps sequins!!!! The Sweet Summer Vibez mix was the PERFECT mix to compliment this page!!! It had the greens, the pinks, the yellows. OMGosh, I just LOOOVE this mix!!! Just a little bit of journaling to the bottom right corner of the page and matting the whole layout on a piece of pink patterned paper and I was DONE. I have to say, I was a bit intimidated at first to do such a detailed Missy Whidden layout, but I am SO SOOOO happy with how this turned out!!!! And, I hope you enjoyed the process with me!

If you would like any of the Shimmerz products or that gorgeous sequin mix, check out the Spiegelmom Scraps shop. When ordering, dont forget…

Make It Yours Monday~ So…

Hello everyone, I’m “SEW” happy to be here with another Make it Yours Monday! Yup, it’s Sewing week here at Spiegelmom Scraps!!! Today, I am sharing a layout that includes some stitching as well as some no so hidden journaling!

This layout started with a large die-cut heart from a piece of American Crafts white cardstock.  I stitched (not so well!!!) a round the edges of the heart with a few different stitches on my sewing machine using a gray thread to keep the layout soft. Lots of layers with scraps from my stash were next, including a doily and a lg. Manila tag  from the shop. I adhered the photo to each side of the stitched, cut out heart, making sure to avoid any adhesive in the middle.

To add my title, just to the right of the photo cluster, I used some tiny tile stickers as well as some silver glitter thickers to spell out So Tiny, So Strong, So Loved. Then, out came the sparkles!! I used the beautiful Sweet Pea sequin mix to bring a bit of shimmer and shine around the page and add some pops of color. I also included some of the adorable heart felties in white and dove grey in the little clusters and in the corner of my photo.

For my journaling, I created a pocket on the back of the white cardstock that would allow my journaling to be seen through the heart cut out. I wrote everything out on a light piece of pattern paper that coordinated with the rest of the layout and then, I backed the entire page with another piece of that patterned paper. I stitched around the edges of the layout, being sure to avoid the opening for my journaling to slide out!

I hope you enjoyed my SEW fun project today and will check out the shop for some of the great products I used to create to create a stitched layout of your own! When you do, be sure to…

Make It Yours Monday~ Sweetest Day

Happy Birthday to…Me! LOL, not really, but this week we are celebrating birthday’s! But not just any birthdays, ones we wouldn’t usually document. Weather it be a celebrity, a pet or yourself.  I chose to scrap my 34th birthday. I wouldn’t normally document a birthday of mine unless it was a big one, like 21, 30, etc. BUT, this year has been different. I lost my mom and I realized ALL birthdays are important!

To begin my layout, I trimmed down a piece of American Crafts white cardstock to 11 3/4 x 11 3/4.  I used some of my favorite Shimmerz mists, Vibez in Before Dawn, Pink Stilettos Coloringz, Oh Say Can U Sea Coloringz and Chick-a-dee Spritz, to create a fun splattered background, like party confetti!

I set that aside to dry, and began to mat my photo. I used the beautiful frosting colors on my cake for inspiration, backing the picture with purple, pink and yellow papers, as well as some gold glitter paper for reflect the candle light and black cardstock to make all the colors pop off the page! I added a doily to the top left corner for some texture and because I love doilies!!!!

The next element on the page I worked on was the large “34” on the right hand side. I chose 2 patterned papers and cut the numbers on my scan n cut. I adhered them to the background and lined them with Morning Dew Drops sequins  to make it sparkle! I also used the FREE birthday cut file from the shop to create my candles! I added my photo and tucked the candles, which sparkle with a mix of Fairy Garden and Summer Paradise sequins, around my photo. I added some more Morning Dew Drops to the flames to make them look like they were flickering with light!

Then, I added my title, Sweetest Day, with some alpha stickers, added my journaling under my picture and sprinkled more sequins around the background. The whole layout was mounted on a piece of pink pattern paper and that was the finishing touch.

SO, I hope you will dig out some birthday photos that are just waiting to have a story told!!! Annnnd, go grab this amazing birthday cut file to help you, as well as some of the other amazing products in the shop!!! When you do,

Make It Yours Monday~ I Love Your Face

Happy Monday everyone and Thanks SO much for joining me for another Make It Yours Monday! I have a special layout to share with you, because this week, we are celebrating all things EMOJI LOVE!!!

For my layout, I chose to use both the Gotta Love Emojis sequin mix as well as the new and FREE Love Your Face cut file in the shop!

I began with a piece of black cardstock and mounted a trimmed down piece of white American Crafts cardstock on top.  I splattered some Shimmerz mists in Peachy Keen, Pink Stiletto, Night Moves and Chick-a-dee. When the splatters were dry, Dazzlerz in Lemon Drop Yellow, Pink Stilettos and Dreamscicle were spread on in rows, alternating colors. While they were drying, I matted my photo on some black and pink cardstock as well as an orange diagonal bag to bring in more orange from her shirt in the photo.

Next, I turned to the cut file. I cut the top pieces of the face from black paper and the back piece in yellow. I cut acetate to fit the top, used foam tape to create a sequin well and picked all the yellows from the Gotta Love Emojis mix to fill it up! I LOVE the sparkly smiley face!

My title was also cut from the cut file, all in black cardstock.  All of the pieces were left black, except for the heart. I used the large pink sequins from the Emoji Mix and small flat pink sequins from the You Are My Sunshine mix to make it sparkle and shine!

When the dazzlerz were dry, I adhered my photo and shaker smiley face with Tombow Mono, because it would hold a little better on the texture paste. I adhered a black square frame to showcase the photo and shaker and adhered my title to the bottom left.

To finish off my page, I took sequins from the Gotta Love Emoji’s mix and scattered them around the page, because there SO pretty!!!

SOO, to grab some of these amazing products, head on over to the Spiegelmom Scraps Shop!!

Make It Yours Monday~ Ice Ice {Cream} Baby

Vanilla Ice Cream, Baby!!! Happy Monday and I hope you enjoy this weeks layout as much as I did creating it!! My layout was completely inspired by the quirky 90’s hit by Vanilla Ice and  I knew just the perfect memory to capture.

My oldest daughter’s first ice cream cone was such a sight! After a long hard day of playing and getting dirty, it was just the thing to cool off with! I decided to document this memory by using some fun summer themed papers.  I started with a piece of pink cardstock, trimmed down, and backed it with a piece of fun sprinkles paper! I then added a piece of kraft cardstock and layer it with the ice cream cone paper and adhered it to the pink. I added a piece of 1″ wide sprinkles paper backed with more pink paper more than half way down.

I backed each of my 3 photos in colors matching the papers, Pink, blue and yellow. I adhered them to the layout and added my title to the bottom with some fun, glittery thickers. I accented with some ice cream cone stickers and added my journaling. BUT, I was not dont yet. Nope, what’s a summer ice cream layout with out a fun, BIG ice cream cone?!

I had SUCH a blast creating this aspect of my layout!! I took some craft and brown cardstock and a cut file to create the cone. After I cut the ice cream top,  I spread some Spun Sugar Dazzlerz to create the look of Vanilla Ice Cream. I added some Morning Dew Drops to the bottom to make the ice cream sparkle and shine!! AND, no Ice Cream is complete without SPRINKLES!!!!  To make the ice cream fun and colorful and sparkly, I used the You are my Sunshine sequin mix to add the sprinkles on top!

SUCH a fun layout!!! I really hope you will give this sweet layout a go and use some of the amazing products from the shop!!!! And, as always…

Make It Yours Monday~Amazed

Welcome to another 90’s themed Make It Your’s Monday. And, what would a 90’s theme be without a love song! I took on an new type of challenge today, using a digital layout as inspiration…

I loved the entire concept of the layout. So, I set out to recreate it in paper form. To begin, I used a piece of white American Crafts cardstock and backed it with a piece of pretty pink cardstock. I stitched around the edges to add texture and then did the packaging technique to add some color to the background. Jeni B Bleu Vibez and Cotton Candy Spritz gave just the right amount of color. After they dried, I used a tim holtz stencil and Tutti Frutti Dazzlerz to stencil some subtle floral detail.

I layered up my photo with some patterned papers that complimented each other and the photo. I backed my photo with some white cardstock to make it stand out a bit and tore some of the edges of the papers to create soft texture. It further the softness, I added some pleated white creap paper under the bottom edge of the photo mat.

I added the title to the space next to the photo. Baby I’m Amazed By You. Suiting title and I loved the song when it was out. My journaling reflected the title. To finish my layout, I used some Morning Dew Drops  and soft pinks from the Rockin Pink Ombre mix and sprinkled them around the page.

Dream back to the 90’s and be inspired by your favorite love song. Make sure to pick some amazing products up from the shop to create your layout and use…

Make It Yours Monday~ Step By Step

Step by Step, oh baby!!! Sorry for the song stuck in your head now, but it’s the perfect way to describe my layout today!!! I was inspired by the incredible Katty Miranda’s mixed media and this song title!!

This layout started with a piece of Bazzill marshmallow cardstock being layered on some sky blue and Navy blue cardstocks. Then, the fun began! I used a bunch of Shimmerz mists and the packaging technique to create my background. Deep Blue Sea Vibez, Jeni B Bleu Vibez, Cotton Candy Spritz, Pink Stilettos Coloringz and Mandarin Mai Tai Coloringz all complimented my photo and created this fun watercolory background! After a few splatters of each color mist,  I used a random dotted stencil next with more shimmerz, but this time I used the new  paste-eez in Salt of the Earth to add a bit of texture to the background.

For my photos, I backed them with complimenting colors to the background. Pink, light blue, and a navy played well with the photos and background. An 8″ doily from the shop backing the mat’s was the perfect way to separate the mat’s from the background.

I used thickers to add my title to the bottom of the page, under the photos. Step-by-Step! Yup, there I go again! Love You Tons and Hot Pink Heart Felties  scattered around the page brought some added color and texture and some Be True 2 U sequins brought the sparkle!

I hope you will Step-by-Step on over to the shop and pick up some of the great products I used in todays layout. When you do…

Make It Yours Monday~Summer Girls

Happy Monday everyone. I hope you had a great weekend. I am here to share my 90’s influenced layout. My take on this theme is to find songs from the era and try to make them work as my titles!!! I made the LFO Song “Summer Girls” my song title and decided to give it my own spin!

I began by using a piece of woodgrain paper and mounted a piece of trimmed down kraft cardstock. I tore some vellum and layered it under the sand and shell pattern paper. I sprinkled various colors from the Just Beachin’ It mix throughout the sand to create some sparkley beach sand. Adding more torn vellum to create the foamy break between sea and sand, I layered the wavy sea paper on top and then used some great sequin mixes to make the sea shine in the sunshine! Light blue sequins from the Hey Kiddo mix, Teal from the Aqua Marine Dream and the dark blue’s from Be True 2 U made the sea sparkle.

Next, for the sky portion,  layered a few torn strips of cloud paper to create a fluffy sky look. I used some Morning Dew Drops sequins to make some of the clouds stand out. A few corky chevron arrows help draw attention to the photo. To bring some sunshine to the page, I used a free cut file from the shop and the negative piece from the cut made a great sun stencil!!! Lemon Drop Dazzlerz is the perfect sunny yellow, so I used it through my homemade stencil in the top left corner. To make the sun really shine, I added some Summer Paradise sequins while the texture paste was still wet.

The sweet photo was mounted on some pink glitter paper and then backed with the same woodgrain from the layout mat. I added the title to the lower right corner under the photo in a navy blue color, keeping with the blue’s! The title was my nod to the 90’s, from a great summer song from my teen’s!

Sunshiny happiness is my challenge to you this week, and for bonus points, Stick with the 90’s theme!!! Pick up all the great products I used here today and….

Make It Yours Monday~ So Lovely

Hello my scrappy friends and thanks for joining me for another Make It Yours Monday on the Spiegelmom Scraps blog!!! Today, I took on a challenge to recreate this beautiful Pinterest pin… ( I cant find the original pinner, but it’s so beautiful!)

I began my layout with a piece of floral patterned paper and mounted a piece of white American Crafts cardstock on top, after I roughed up the edges and inked them with spun sugar distress ink. I use some Shimmerz mists in Night Moves coloringz and Cotton Candy spritz to create my splatters in a diagonal. For my photo mats, I used some of my scraps from my scrap box and layered up some patterns that complimented each other. A piece of soft grey was used as the bottom layer to bring a bit of darker color and attention to the photo.  Some soft texture was added with the addition of a 8″ doily, found in the shop. Some banners and a punched heart were used to bring attention to the bottom of the photo and keep your eye moving around the page.

My title went in the bottom right of the photo cluster and is done in white to keep the soft feel of the layout.

I added a few chipboard pieces to add more depth and height at the top right corner of my photo and sprinkled some light pink iridescent sequins from the Rockin Pink Ombre mix  as well as some shimmering clear Moning Dew Drops. A few tiny word stickers and I was done. I am in love with the soft, flowery feel of this page and I love how it compliments my photo perfectly!

I hope you will pick up some of these fantastic products from the shop and give a flowery layout a shot! Dont forget, when you order…

Make It Yours Monday~ You are the Light…

Hello everyone and welcome to a SUNNY and Bright Make It Yours Monday!! It’s pouring here, so I hope this page brings some Sunshine and Cheer to you if your sharing the weather with me!!

I LOVE the fun and bright colors of the You are my Sunshine mix, and I knew I had to use them when I saw these photos! They are the perfect compliment to my daughters Easter outfit!!

So, to start my layout, I used some Jeni B Bleu and Glorious Day Vibez to make some splatters on a piece of American Crafts textured white cardstock. I then used some black pigment ink to stamp the flowers along the bottom. I ran some pretty teal washi tape along the bottom and a skinny gold tape across the middle of the teal.

My photos were so bright and colorful, that I just did a simple mat with sky blue vellum to help them stand out. I used the Cloudy Day Felties and a FREE Spiegelmom Scraps cut file to create the top cluster above the photos. I used some of the yellow’s from the Sunshine mix to make the sun SHINE! I stamped my title in the center of the sun and then, a sprinkle of the You Are My Sunshine sequins mix and Cork butterflies were the finishing touch!!

I added some jounaling to the right side of my layout, under the photos and I was done. I am surprised I was able to leave my layout with a cleaner look!

I hope you enjoyed my layout today, and will head on over to the shop to pick up some of these fantastic products to add to your pages!!! Dont forget…

Make it Yours Monday~Sunshine & Silliness

Hello Everybody, and HAPPY Belated Mother’s Day!! I hope you all had an amazing day yesterday. I had a wonderful weekend with my girls (hence the late post, sorry!!)

For this weeks layout, I used a pin that I have been wanting to do for a looooong time, and about 90% of my layout today is all Spiegelmom Scraps products!!!

I began my layout by layering a piece of American Crafts white cardstock on a piece of pretty blue stripped papper. On top of the white, I added some sky blue cardstock and stitched around the edges. Next, I splattered so Glorious Day Vibez for some sunshine-y sparkle around the page.

I started the main background of the layout by using a mixture of the smaller 4″ paper doilies and 8″ Chantilly Doilies around the page.  For the sun and clouds, I used a great and FREE cut file from the shop, Found HERE, and cut them from my Scan N Cut in the colors I needed. I also mixed in some of the Cloudy Day Felties for some texture and interest among the clouds.

For my photo, I layered some fun sky blue glitter paper right behind the photo to make it stand out, and then some spotty yellow paper too, to keep the sunshine theme going. Behind the paper layers, I added a fancy cut of vellum so add some softness. I added some strips of washi tapes and then adhered the photo on top of the washi strips.

I used the Sunshine from the cut file and some glitter thickers to create my title, and then had some fun with other embellishments from the shop!! I used a few Cork Confetti Butterflies sprinkled around and added a layer of vellum on top of them, and attached them with my Tim Holtz tiny attacher. Some pattern paper punched butterflies in pretty colors were added for more whimsy.

More sparkle was needed so I used some of the new Free Spirit sequin mix to add color to the sun and a few by the washi tape. The clouds and doilies got some shimmer from a few Morning Dew Drops sequins.   To finish my page, I used some of the yellow thread I used on stitch down the edges and tangled it behind the sun and a doily. I really am SO happy with this layout and hope you enjoyed it as well!!

If you want to give this page a go, don’t forget to use my coupon code in the shop for some great savings. Have a Happy Scrappy Monday!!!!
