Hello hello everyone and welcome to the Spiegelmom Scraps blog! Staying warm and cozy is one of the best things to do during the winter cold months. Food plays even a bigger part of being warm and cozy and some people even call this time of year the season for comfort food. Well since I have been trying my best to stay on a proper diet, I am finding salads to be my comfort food believe it or not, Lol!
Here is the sketch that was created by Sara Scraps and I just love this one! Also be sure to check out the LGS (Let’s Get Sketchy) blog, where they will be using the same sketch!
So here is a layout of my new found comfort food! Salomon salad with a almond flavored vinagerette salad dressing. It was SO GOOD!
This was so fun to create and I used my favorite embellishment! Sequins! Yes these are new sequins called 2 Cool 4 U by the Spiegelmom Scraps. I used them to add more interest to the layout. Here is a closer look.
I also used the Felicia Jane kit for October called Emeline that is where the wood grain hearts came from along with all the papers and puffy stickers.
I just love the combination of the puffy stickers and sequins, they just give this layout such character.
Take a look at those puffy alphas! They work out perfectly for the title of this layout.
Be sure to go to the Spiegelmom Scraps shop to pick up your 2 Cool 4 U sequins and you can use code Felicia15 to get a discount! Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
Hello everyone! It is that time of year where the weather gets colder, the fire place’s fire up, and soups are comfort food. Well in Northern California it does get cold, but not as cold as it did back east in New York where it can’t get more than 10 degrees below zero. Here in California the only place where it can get as cold as New York and snow is up north in Lake Tahoe. This is where I took my grandson for the first time and he had a ball.
We are teaming up with LGK (Let’s Get Sketchy) and will be using a sketch this week created by Sara Scraps and it is an awesome sketch. Be sure to check them out!
So here is my take on Sara’s sketch!
I really just love how this sketch turned out especially the new sequins from the Spiegelmom Scraps shop called Classic Cozy. Take a look at how I glued them on top of the punched out snow flakes.
There are some other details on this layout using the Classic Cozy.
Here you can see I used some Dylusions spray in London Blue for the droplets on the layout.
As you can see there are some other colors in the sequin pack and snow flakes! That is why I love this pack of sequins.
Thank you or stopping by today and be sure to visit the Spiegelmom Scraps shop to get your Classic Cozy sequins and be to use Felicia15 to get your discount on your order.
Hello everyone! Back with a layout featuring myself( Yikes!) Well it is a good selfie for me this time around. I am super happy that I was able to fit back into my original Cycling outfit! I have been on this amazing body transformation weight lost adventure and it has changed me big time! I don’t often do layouts of myself, but I did this one because I am proud of the achievement thus far. The layout that I am scrap lifting is Piradee, who has been on the Creating Keepsakes Dream Team, has been published in many magazines, and was on many design teams. I changed it a little to fit what I wanted to accomplish.
Very colorful huh! Well what makes this layout work is the papers from Amy Tan’s Oh Happy Life and those sequins. I just can’t get enough of the sequins, these are called Magical Day In The Park. I just love these color combos for the sequins and in the Spiegelmom Scraps shop there is much more!
Take a look at those sequins!
See those stars! They also come in the Magical Day In The Park sequins pack.
Love the rubber embellishment as well and oh was I happy that morning. Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to check out the Spiegelmom Scraps shop for some amazing goodies that are in the shop.
Hello everyone! I remember back in the day when my children were little and I always looked forward to picture day. I would have the envelope filled out and ready with a check, which happen to be a cycle of many checks for school this and that, boy it’s no wonder we weren’t broke! Lol, well now it is my turn to watch my grand children and receive those precious photos every year. I scrap lifted this layout from the famous Victoria Marie, where she did this layout on her Youtube channel for her 35th birthday. I just loved it so I decided to use the format and change a few things around. Take a look!
In this layout I used some of the papers from the Dear Lizzy Saturday collection and stickers. The sequins on this layout are called Magical Day In The Park. The little black diamonds are in the mix and I just love them! The cork stars are also from the Spiegelmom’s shop as well and they are called Cork Confetti.
Here is a close up of the chipboard title from the Dear Lizzy Saturday collection.
Here is a close up of those cork stars confetti. Just love the look of these stars.
Then I took a stamp and curved it so that it would curve around the large wood veneer piece. This is the same technique that Victoria Marie does on her layout.
The sequin mix also comes with stars, which I placed through out the layout. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the Spiegelmom Scraps shop and make sure you get your sequins!
Hello scrappy peeps! If you ever have a chance to visit California I suggest you do so and visit Monterey Bay Aquarium. It is an awesome place to bring the family and you will not regret it. We have been there twice and have been amazed both times. The second time I was able to take my grand children and my daughter. They had an awesome some, but dad could not go, so he met up with them at the beach. This layout is of all of them at the beach having some family time. I just love the blue in this layout, I scrap lifted this layout from A Studio Calico sketch from 2010, which I was surprised I still had! Lol!
The sequins in this layout just so happen to be a perfect match. They are Let’s Be Mermaids and I just love the colors off set the blue in the background.
Take a look at that title, which I used my Simon Says die to cut the first layer on water color paper then sprayed it the Dylusions spray mist in After Midnight and I also used the Dylusions spray for the back ground on this layout.
Take a look at the dimensional layers of the word die cut. I just love this and the look of the blue is just marvelous.
I added just right amount of gold to the layout to give it some contrast.
I just love how this layout turned out! You can stop by the Spiegelmom Scraps shop to take a look at the many beautiful sequins that are in the shop. Thanks for stopping by!
Hello! I am here with a layout of a few of my favorite people, my daughter and her two children 6 years ago. My grandson looks so happy in this photo! My daughter does the Time Hop on FB and I just love going back to see how much the grandchildren have grown. Look at that smile on that little guy…my granddaughter was just a few months old in this photo.
On this layout I used a piece of vellum for the title since I had a large black space that needed to be occupied. There are a couple of other vellum pieces on the layout as well.
I used some Dazzlerz texture paste in Sea U In The Mornin’ and I added some glitter by Hero Arts in white in the texture paste and then I used a Tim Holtz stencil to give it some interest and texture.
I added some rubber embellishments from the Felicity Jane kit, which were too cute to pass up!
Take a look at those sequins! Those are Falling Leaves and they match perfectly with the background paper! I just love the sequin mixes!
Super happy with how this turned out and I just love how every thing coordinates on this layout! The vellum is really subtle, but makes a statement on the layout.
Thank you for stopping by today and be sure to check out the Spiegelmom Scraps shop today and pick up some of the sequin mixes and the Dazzlerz texture paste. You won’t be disappointed.
Hello! Welcome! I seem o be on the black and white photo kick again. This time I used some black and white elements on the page with just a little pop of color added on along with some black and white papers. Included on this layout, which I think makes the layout is the Wedding Bells sequins by Spiegelmom Scraps. Take a look!
I just love how this turned out! I cut the title and the tag from a cut file from a kit. Once I did that I used some of the rubber embellishments from my kit.
I love how these sequins look on this layout against the black and white paper and embellishments. Versa Fine ink is what I used to stamp the elements on the page including the darker circles.
With the title nestled in with some cut files and rubber embellishments, it helps it stand out with just the right amount of color on the layout.
Then I journaled within the circles that are on the layout.
Thank you for stopping by and be sure to check out the Spiegelmom Scraps shop for the Wedding Bells sequins that I used for this layout, which shows how I put it all together. Also check out the video that I have so you see how it all came together! Take care!
Hello! Guess what? Fall is on its way and I can’t wait. Fall is my favorite second favorite time of the year and the colors… are oh so pretty. The weather starts to get a little nippy, the trees change colors, pumpkin spice lattes are out. You just have to love fall! So with fall in mind I decided to do this layout of some trees that I took a photo of on my block last year and I just love it! Take a look at those colors. On this layout I use some of the Spiegelmom sequins in Autumn Joy, I just love them! You can find more beautiful sequin mixes in the spiegelmom scraps.
Take a closer look at those beauties…ooooh how I just love the colors of this mix.
So here is a close up look at the flurry I added it and you can see where I added some of those awesome sequins around it. The flurry is from Bo Bunny’s Enchanted Autumn collection from 2015. The word tiles are from American Crafts and they were so cool to use.
So are you ready for fall? The coolness of the weather, the vibrant bright fall colors, oh and did I mention Pumpkin Spice Latte?! Lol thanks for stopping by everyone and be sure to check out the Spiegelmom scraps shop for more awesome sequins mixes. Take care!
Hello everyone! Glad you could join us here today! Have you ever surprised someone when they were not expecting a surprise? Well I have…my two grandchildren. We took them to the Monterey Bay Aquarium on a Friday and there was an area where you could see the waves came in and down behind you like a waterfall while you are protected by a large class window. I am sure there was a name to it, but as my two grandchildren stood there, I waited for the water to come down and boy were they surprised. Just look at those bright faces! I love it when they are surprised, ahhh the enjoyment of being a Nana…Lol!
In this layout I used some of Shimmerz Dazzlerz in Spun Sugar and I used some Tim Holtz distressed ink in Chipped Sapphire to give it some color. It turned out really beautiful in this layout. I love the pearlized look the Dazzlerz give. I also used a beautiful color mix of sequins from Spiegelmom scraps called Spring Blooms, which gave it a burst of color!
Take a look at that cluster! I love making clusters especially with sequins on the layout.
This cluster includes some die cuts from the Pink Fresh Studio Life Noted collection and a flare from one of my kit clubs.
Here you can see up close the Dazzlerz texture paste in Spun Sugar colored with a Tim Holtz distress ink in Chipped Sapphire. I just love the way the Dazzlerz add that pearl look! I add color to my texture paste often, which is something you can do if you do not have a lot of colors. Just add your favorite ink to the texture paste and you will create a one of kind color with your texture paste for your layout.
Added some phrase strips that fit the photo description as well. These are from Pink Fresh Studio/Felicity collection.
Look at those faces! They just light up your day and there’s is nothing like the innocent faces of children.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to visit the Spiegelmom Scraps shop for more goodies! While your at it, make you use Felicia15 to receive a 15% discount on your shop order.
Hello everyone! This is my first blog post for the SpiegalMom DT and I am super excited! The layout I am bringing you today is a traditional layout about family and we all know how that goes! Lol. Anyway this is a photo of my daughter and her husband who are in the faded background and their two children in the front. Taken in beautiful Monterey California, you just can’t go wrong with a photo shoot at the beach.
I just love the colors in this layout and those sequins are right on the spot! I used the Spiegelmom scraps Wedding Bells sequins and glued them where they dropped.
I used Tombo Mono Multi glue because when it dries, it dries into a matt finish. I also used some ink in Glass Slipper from SC with a stencil of hearts, which gave it a tone on tone look.
My favorite part about this layout is the hidden journaling, which I used a large Glassine bag to hold a 4X6 journaling card and glued it to the back of the photo, added a tab, and labeled it NOTE, so that you can retrieve the journaling card. I have done this technique before when I had a layout that was too busy for journaling or when I just want to hide the words. It’s another way of keeping your journaling private.
Thank you so much for stopping by and make sure that you check out the Spiegelmom shop for more goodies and I will be back next week for another 12×12 layout. Oh! Be sure to use my coupon code Felicia15 to receive a 15% discount on your purchases! Have an awesome day!
