Using Up Stash To End The Year

Hi Chaps, Laura here today.

As we finish this year and look towards the next we all have ideas and goals.  One of mine is to use up some of my older stash to make space for the new goodies that will be announced at CHA.  I sorted through my box of SpiegelMom Scraps supplies and pulled out the bags of old sequin mixes that only had a few left or the mixes where I had used all but one type of sequin.  As I plonked them on the desk to reach for the next box to rummage through they landed in a waterfall effect, layered down one on top of the other.  I liked it and thought why not add that to a layout?

I left them in their original bags minus the branding and pulled out some complimentary threads.  I ran the top of the bags and the background through the sewing machine giving me floating shaker pockets.

All stacked up one on top of the other looks really fun and is surprisingly tactile.  I found myself flipping them up and down and playing with it!

Then I moved on to the next feature – my big title.  I hand cut the letters and stitched around the edges in the same coloured thread I used to attach the waterfall of sequin pockets.

And what a great subject for my last layout of the year.  Only a few months to wait…

Let me know if you have any tips for using up sequins, or have a go at this type of layout.

Happy New Year,

Laura
