Tuesday’s Talent with Kelly

Hello again! It’s Kelly and I have my third project to share with you this week. I did a layout similar to this last year and loved it so much I had to do it again this year. The photo is not great, but it is my son’s senior class schedule. In ten years it will be fun for him to look back on this and see the classes that he took his senior year.

On the background I used a few Shimmerz watercolors and Well Blue Me Down mist and the famous packaging technique. Once that dried, I used Salt of the Earth Paste-eez through a Tim Holtz stencil for some added texture.

For this layout I chose to work with the more masculine papers in Paige Evan’s Turn the Page collection. I cut the word Senior with my Silhouette software, using the font Blackout Sunrise. I just checked the shop and the sequins that I used for this project are already sold out!! However, the Magical Adventure and Lisa’s Starry Night packs are pretty close to the pack that I used if you are looking to replicate my project.

To adhere the sequins to the letter, I put double sided tape on the inside of the I and pushed the sequins down. Since this is a technique that I have not personally done before, I was not sure how well the sequins would stick. They stick amazingly well to the double sided tape which made it so easy to arrange the sequins.

Adding a few sequins around the page helps to bring a bit more bling to the clusters and helps to make the layout look more cohesive.

If you’d like to take a peek at my process, I’ve included a link below. Thanks so much for joining me today, and I hope this inspires you!
