Such Great Times – Easy Shaker on a Layout

Hey crafty friends! Rachel here sharing a layout that came together quickly thanks to some gorgeous products and a fun + easy shaker pocket. I’m always looking for new ways to utilize my Fuse tool (Check out the bottom of this post for a fun giveaway!) and since sequins are perfect for adding dimension to any project, I combined the two for this 12 x 12 layout of me with my in-laws.

I started with some AC white textured cardstock  and spritzed it with Shimmerz Coloringz in Mandarin Mai Tai. What I love so much about this spray ink is that it can easily be used with a stencil too. I really like combining messy and clean lines, so I used both techniques here. Once that dried I added a layer of Shimmerz Dazzlers texture paste in Spun Sugar with a similar arrow-like stencil.

I stitched on the “Such Great Times” title and layered a perfectly proportioned paper lace doily  (say that 3 times fast) and some papers from Claudia Van Rooijen’s Hot Right Now printable collection, under my photo. Check out all of her gorgeous designs here!

Enter gorgeous shaker pocket: I fused a simple rectangle of exclusive sequins in Sunny Smiles + Pinky Pie Pinks  and combined it with my other layering elements. Perfect!

I finished this layout with a few Illustrated Faith She Blooms Icons, some ephemera by the Hip Kit Club, extra sequins + enamel dots and simple journaling off to the side for a little balance. I love how easily this came together. Now I’m challenging you to use a shaker pocket solely as a layering element on an upcoming project, you’ll love it!
