Herbert

Hi Folks! Laura here again with a photoless layout. My pet budgie (parakeet) is called Herbert and I wanted to document the definitions of his name as they are rather apt… well one much more than the other!

I looked up the definition and origin of the name and the word and printed them out. The other focus is the feathers flair button which is where I got my colour scheme from. I wanted to keep the layout fairly clean and simple with the added colour coming from splatters and sequins only – no patterned paper at all.

I gathered some sequins; 2 Cool 4 U, What’s Up Buttercup, Green Acres, Salt of the Earth and strung them onto some thread. The flair is from Cuts2Luv and Evalicious.

I bumped my definitions on foam – I love the little shadow it throws around the edge.

If you want to replicate grab some Shimmerz inks here, and pulled out your SpiegelMom Scraps sequin stash and have fun!

I love you approach to this page! It’s funny that I came upon this photo-less layout about a parakeet today, as I was just wondering how I could create a layout about my late grandmother’s parakeets without photos. She had so many parakeets — at least 20! — but I don’t have any photos. 🙁 This layout demonstrates that I might be able to move forward without needing the pictorial proof! Thanks!
